    I love Quince. I have the navy and black slip dress and champagne skirt. I love everything you picked out. The green slip looks so beautiful on you. I’ve been looking for a nice long coat. What size did you get for THE CLASSIC COAT - BONE? That coat is gorgeous😍

      So nice you already love Quince! 😍 I’m in love with all the pieces I tried! I almost picked the navy too, like you. Such a beautiful and versatile color 💙
      Oh the coat is such a dream! This one is the old version, a more structured fabric - I sized up to M! I have one in L and one now in S too 😂 I have a review on them, let me get the link for you in a minute xx

    I’ve great experiences with Quince’s silk and cashmere items, but I didn’t like the white linen dress I ordered. The linen isn’t very good quality, so it’s a very difficult get it well-ironed and it doesn’t feel smooth, as linen should after ironing. Also the seams and turn-over fold allowances were so skimpy that they showed through. For semi-sheer fabrics like this linen, it’s necessary to make two complete-width folds on hems. If only a little fabric is used in the first fold, as in these dresses, they show through and make the dress look cheap. It would take very little more fabric to make professional-looking cuffs, hems, etc., I wish they would. But, Quince does make the perfect silk skirts, in a variety of solid colors, and they’re only $60 US. I have many versions of this skirt. I wash all my silk items, woven or knitted, in the “hand-wash/gentle” cycle in my washing machine. I use warm water for light colors and cold for darker ones and always use Perwoll 3D Renew, it’s the only detergent I ever tried that doesn’t fade dark silk (Amazon, I think it’s from Germany or the Netherlands and I’ve never found it locally here in California). I have an extensive silk wardrobe and have tried many. Never use any Woolite product, even the one for Darks. Woolite Dark ruined an entire cold-water loads if my medium-to-dark silks! There are many gentler silk detergents, but I love Perwoll best and it smells fresh and clean, not like a sugary vanilla blueberry or peach muffin like most detergent do! I hate food smells on my clothes or in my fragrances, I want to smell clean and floral.

    The difference in size can be accounted for by where the fabric was stacked in the cutting order. They stack the fabrics and the machine comes down and cuts the pattern piece from the top to the bottom of the stack. Fabric at the bottom of the stack is slightly larger than the fabric at the top. Depending upon what kind of fabric it is, the difference can be considerable. So if the champaign skirt was made from pieces at the top of the stacking order and the gray was made from pieces at the bottom, the gray skirt will be larger. This is why you can go into a store and try different colors of an article and the piece will fit differently, even though it is the same size. In addition, the machines themselves can be slightly off. So the machine cutting champaign pieces might be a little different than the one cutting gray pieces.

    Silk isn’t high-maintenance but it does have a high affinity for food, beverage, blood and other oil- or protein-based stains. On the rare occasions when I get a spot, I treat it right away with a pre-treatment spray, then wash in warm water after 15 minutes. Most spots will come out, but if one doesn’t, take it to your dry cleaner within 24 hours, they can usually get them in out. (I know enzymatic pre-treatments like Shout or Spray and Wash aren’t recommended for protein fibers like silk, but if only left for 15 minutes, I’ve never had any problem with using them. They really break up oils and proteins, it’s worth a try. Also, Folex can wok like magic, just don’t leave any of these on too long, wash the item soon). Silk never needs ironing if washed on the gentle cycle/slow spin.

    I have mixed feelings about mine. I like the quality and cut, but the fabric is pretty thin and shows nipples/underwear easily-- they're very "naked" slip dresses. I also wish the waistband of the slip skirts were thicker or wider so I could tuck shirts in and sewed down so the elastic doesn't roll in the wash. I don't wear a lot of crop tops, and I know you can tie your shirt so it hits higher but if you tuck in the ends, it shows through the skirt.

    They manage these prices because they are not as greedy as other brands they could sell at these prices too but they have a bigger profit margin m&s in the UK has been doing affordable luxury for generations around the same price as quince both have classic pieces m&s also do trend pieces while still keeping them classic instead of doing all the trends they pick ones that they can fit into their classic style and it's more a nod to the trends rather than all in both are amazing companies

    Hi Mila! I really enjoyed this video, the silk skirts look amazing on you. The celine belt you wore really caught my eye too, could you maybe do a styling video for the belt? I’m interested to know if it can dress up or down (casual jeans)? What band width do you recommend? Thanks!

    • @milainnewyork
      @milainnewyork  Год назад +1

      Thank you so much ♥️ I’d love to share a video styling this belt. :) I can think of many ways!! I wish I had bought the thinner version though, in my opinion it looks even better.
      As for sizing, mine is the 80. My waist is around 72cm, so I went with the 80 in case I wore bulkier pants, thick jeans or mid/lower waist bottoms. I think with a t-shirt and jeans, would make the most casual look, but this belt dresses up any outfit immediately. The tan color would be slightly more casual I think! ☺️

    I bought their SuperSoft Fleece Wide Leg Pants and they pilled on 1st wear. I tried posting reviews twice mentioning this issue and they just don't get posted. I also saw that they don't allow reviews on returned items. Deceiving.

    • @milainnewyork
      @milainnewyork  11 месяцев назад

      Oh no that’s awful! Sorry this happened to your pants and thank you for the feedback, I never tried these. Are they cotton? You should comment on their Instagram because this way other people will see it! I’ve seen negative reviews about certain items on their website before, so that’s weird your review is not being posted. I think we have to make the review before returning the item then, I will make sure to do that when I get something from them. So far I’ve loved everything I tried, all holding up well even after washing! I only got natural fabric items though, not synthetics

    Mila I am trying to order through a friend since they do not ship to Canada so I need to get the sizes right. I love all your picks, trying to restrain myself from buying everything.I'm confused about the silk shirt sizing, went through the reviews and it's so mixed. My measurements are almost like yours,88 chest,68 waist 96 hips. what do you suggest S or M? Keep up the amazing work, love love your videos!

    • @milainnewyork
      @milainnewyork  11 месяцев назад

      Hello! ☺️ based on your measurements, I’d go with the Small. The Medium would be too big for you. I added my measurements to the description box - my waist is 72cm and hips 102cm. I’m wearing the skirt in Small here and my measurements are much bigger than yours, so it will likely be great for you. Medium would be huge!

    For winter, I just wear a silk half-slip/petticoat under my silk skirts, then with tall boots and possibly tights, I stay warm. O can’t wear synthetics, so if I want that silk look, it has to be the real thing, 100% mulberry silk.
