For those of you bitching about defense, LaVar explained it on Chris Brousard's podcast, the system they play is to get easy fast break buckets, mathematically if Chino Hills "cherry picks" they have better odds to outscore you because the other team doesn't cover the cherry picker and what happens is that even if the team with the numbers advantage on offense scores, eventually they will miss therefore the pickers will have the lead. They press the ball a certain way to get it in a position they feel comfortable with, when the offensive player passes them or shoots the ball, he taught the guards to run to the other end of the court for the easy layup (cherry picking) because statistically there aren't a lot of "long" rebounds so it makes sense to send your guards up court to lay the ball in. It makes tons of sense and is easy to see what they are doing if you watch Chino Hills' games. A guy rebounding the ball and throwing it to the other end is an extremely common occurrence in their games. LaVar made a simple point in that podcast "If they ain't gonna guard it, why stop doing it." And he's right.
