- In Ep. 548 of B-Schaeff Daily, Brenden Schaeffer discusses the Cardinals 4-2 win over the Mets on Friday night at Citi Field.
Ryan Helsley and the rest of the bullpen was nails again -- and the Cardinals have still needed Hels for each and every one of their wins on the season.
Miles Mikolas gave the Cardinals a bit more than he had been providing while the offense got its start early thanks to homers by Burleson and Contreras.
Why does it feel like the Cardinals are just hanging on for dear life in so many of their wins? Hey, at least it's working as often as it is.

Appreciate the kind words man! It was a fun convo! Good stuff on this one. They need to win some games with more “breathing room”, but I do think this could feel a bit better when Middleton is back. If Helsley isn’t available one day, you can mix and match Kittredge/JoJo/Gio/Middleton and even guys like Libby/O’Brien/Fernandez etc. But that’s a dicey way to win most of your games - purely from a workload standpoint
I do think you and Josh Jacob’s are the best out there for Cardinals podcasting. Both yall know ball and have creative and interesting ideas and conversations for your podcasts. Would be cool to see yall collaborate more. Bernie is the best on radio for sure he’s 1 of a kind lol.
If Ryan stays healthy can be in the Fireman if the year conversation and reach 50 saves. Kitteridge is a machine. And Romero is a workhorse. Thinking our big 3 can hang with any big 3. Now if our bats can catch up. Nice to see Burly fulfill the promise. Hopefully this is a springboard for him, and the team. Go Cardinals. Got good vibes when Miles got the DP to end the 1st. 😃Yep. I literally fell asleep from 1130 to 1230, Fridays are rough bc I'm up at 6 for morning radio. All told I was in front of a microphone for 6 hours today lol

@@bschaeffer12 That’s a really good point! Most people do some form of exclusive content, however I would understand if you were opposed to that. Some people use it to paywall certain things such as stream vods. You can also allow perks such as having an exclusive emoji by your name. I would maybe do a community poll if you are having a hard time deciding also, polls can also reach a wider audience interestingly. If i had to summarize though, what would make me pull the trigger, would probably be exclusive content, maybe even more in depth analysis coming from your radio show, bc I know your schedule is slammed right now!
That's the interesting question because I do so much content right now it's hard to imagine adding a thing that only is available to a few people--the emoji stuff is a great idea. Let me look into all of this. Thanks for the info!
Glad to hear the win ($&@! Apple TV) but did see Burly homer on the MLB Network look ins. Start piling up wins regardless of how it gets done to get up to .500 then see how everything looks.

Ken I have replied to dozens of comments about Yadi already. It's not a secret. The team thought he would show up. He never made it a priority to show up. That's the whole story. Maybe he'll show up eventually. But that's the situation. No confrontation needed. It's already been addressed multiple times.

We have been out hit in several of our games that we have won. That stat will catch up to us. I don’t have much confidence in a winning season.
We’ve been getting on base at higher clip though, we are one of the best teams in BB
@@adamowen366 true but several of our runs have come from walks which is fine but many of them didn’t come from plate discipline but rather pitchers that couldn’t come close to the plate. Long way to go so who knows. We might get surprised.
@@jimg7318 the good thing is, Gorman will go on a tear here shortly like always does, so you can basically count on him producing anywhere from 2-4 extra runs per game.

Siani has been lights out in center, I’ve been vouching for Burly for a while now, he just never seems to strike out, a problem I don’t think we’re really looking at right now.
