wooo.... nice shoutout to the FV USA Facebook page. lol we try hard to make it a one-stop shop for everyone! another small point people forget about with the "affordable" sedan classes- when you crash them, the uni-body is junked (or requires expensive frame machine fixing), where the FVs just bolt a few new parts on.
The FV USA page is great! A must follow for anyone interested in Formula Vee. Also an AMAZING point regarding cost of repairs. I'm going to have to make another video highlighting some of the other benefits of FV over other classes and that will definitely be addressed.
Awesome that the previous owner was able to get his original car back. Too bad he couldn't keep it, but it clearly found a good home. Another reason for FV is that old cars are still competitive since the formula really doesn't change much, and since driver skill matters more. It's a good idea for someone looking for a FV to visit local races and start talking to FV racers. They might be able to crew for somebody before getting their own car. Sometimes a local car becomes available for sale. Also, they should sit in various makes of cars to see how well (or poorly) they fit. Drivers will usually let people do this. Asking after the race is often better. Cheers!
Other reason's to race in Formula Vee....Large race groups to race with so you always have someone to compete with. Cars are Spec and heavily regulated so you don't get into spending wars as easily and it's more about the driver's skill. Parts are super cheap compared to the other cars you mentioned. About as easy to work on as a go-kart:)
Amazing points as well! I would definitely like to make a video in the future highlighting the close and exciting nature of many FV races and other reasons why to choose FV aside from those of saving money
@enjoiskatin15 i do still have the car but I haven't been able to work on it for the past two years so it's still unfinished. My hope is I can start on it again this upcoming spring
