Thank god someone is talking about the direction and cinematography of oshi no ko. Perhaps the most overlooked aspect of the anime last year. Great video man. Discovered you way back when I attempted to do my own analysis of Hyouka and youve created nothing but bangers since then.
One of the best-looking shows in recent memory. The wild parts are an absolute feast for the eyes, but the funny bits where the characters get simplified forms and expressions don't feel cheap, either. For alot of shows, minimal animation is a way to skimp on work, but for Oshi no Ko it really feels like an intentional decision to heighten the comedy and keep a consistent tone.
When reading the manga a long time ago I questioned how good this arc would be in anime format since it's basically an anime studio adapting a manga about a theater studio adapting a manga, which highly raises complexity. But this 1st episode certainly erased my doubts.
Thanks for doing this analysis. There is so much character depth in this series. The story itself is very good. I have found out about how most of the story ends and I am a little sad. If and when you have the chance, continue doing this.
i like your interpretation of the paint scene, but personally, i thought of it more as a battle of ego's and of who could dominate the space more, building on the battle that happens between kana and akane at the end of the arc when they both fully go out, and this would be a way to introduce that concept to the viewer early, also, since this would be one of the first times kana would have someone to have a proper clash of ego's with
Are you going to watch, and maybe do a video on Shoushimen: How to Be Ordinary? Its another Slice of Life Mystery series from the same author that wrote Hyouka.
Do a review of Shoshimin:How to Become Ordinary. I just watched the first episode and it looks(scenery and atmosphere ) and feels(the way the mystery is structured) like hyouka
The introduction to the play was too long for me. I had to skip it because EVEN though I had just completed season 1, I could not figure out what was going on in the play.
Paint scene was wildddd

I think the direction and cinematography were some of the most praised aspects of season 1 other than the animation tbh
We’re so back🫡🫡 great vid! Should do one per episode if you have the time for that
If only I had 47 hours in the day 😅

This just shows how much details I missed, thank you for the breakdown!
Great breakdown! Directing choices like the painting scene really take the source material to the next level
As soon as they opened the episode on the static long shot I knew you were going to talk about it immediately lmao
This arc really is the best and this anime adaptation looks like it’s gonna be amazing. I wanna go rewatch episode 1 now

Dude I can't wait to see your analysis on Shoushimin
Yeah I was astonished at how good directionally the first episode was, it almost felt as good as a monogatari episode.
To be compare to monogatari is the highest complement an anime can get.
And now you have to make a video about the Melt's one minute sequence
YOU are so back!
Amazing video!
Always happy to see you post
W for Arima 🔥
I can’t wait to see Black Star dark ruby in the final episode 🤩
my favourite was paint scene too

Please make another "Otome" video again. Your first one was fantastic.

WHAT THE FUCK IT CAME BACK????!!!!
Thanks for the breakdown once again, are you planning on reviewing Shoshimin made by the same author as Hyouka.
Shoshimin episode 1 was bizarre to me. The shots were aesthetically pleasing, but the direction and dialogue felt incoherent.
Love this but i need a video on Shoshimin: How to Become Ordinary, please
I'm so glad the show kept its quality. Mushoku Tensei Season 2 has forever traumatized me.
Same!😭Season 1 was so gorgeous.
How do I watch Tokyo Blade?
If we're lucky, we would have a 2 hour episode of the actors doing Tokyo blade on stage as a finale
Bro where are you ?
based jet lag enjoyer
yup, 100%. I wasn't so hot on OnK during its first season, but this opening to S2 is incredible
Comment
oshi no ko did it again with episode 1 greatness~ 🧎
Something tells me they had 24 episodes ready but decided to split them a year apart. Greedy
Haha seems like it but no
Oshi no ko season 1 was very much a packed season and they had a tight schedule I believe
channels like this always repeat this cycle
post a video
die for a month
post another video
repeat the process
(great videos though)
This arc makes me miss Act-Age and reminds me how much I hate the author for being a scumbag in real life...
The introduction to the play was too long for me. I had to skip it because EVEN though I had just completed season 1, I could not figure out what was going on in the play.
Meanwhile all the dialogue is explaining things at you and everything it's explaining is garbage.
I can tell by your sentence😂
@@saintyoo I can tell by your sentence 😂
@@Heatranoveryou good one!
