09:07 no I don't think it was because of age difference because her protection officer Barry Mannakee(whith whom Diana was flirting outrageously in episode 3)was 2 years older than charles, Diana's other lover Oliver Hoare was also older than charles.
Fergie's father was Prince Philip's polo manager and good friend. Fergie grew up with Andrew and Edward. Charles and Anne knew her. After her parent's spilt up, HMTQ made a special effort to include Fergie in events like birthday parties, and riding on weekends with her own children (She is a good horsewoman). According to some sources, she was always a little bit "naughty" (breaking rules to some extent) her behavior towards those outside of the BRF got worse after her marriage.
Maybe Charles was spoilt, but I remember reading about how shy he was as a teenager, and what torment his schooldays were. His father had no tolerance for sensitivity in his heir and no respect for an artistic temperament. So he grew up with immense privilege, and an immense consciousness of being not good enough. And very little outward affection shown to him. I think he's done well, considering. I like your balanced view.
His father it seems didn't discourage the other boys bullying him. It gave Charles great fortitude. He didn't back down over his views on the environment no matter how much he was laughed at and ridiculed.

I thibk the dishonesty in the beginning of the marriage. With charles saying camilla was just a friend and dianasliwly finding everything out was the downfall. I think dianas immaturity and erratic behaviour didnt help
Plus Diana did what many of us girls were told, ‘laugh at his jokes, like what he likes.’ She did a great job acting like she just LOVED ‘country life’, fishing, hiking and even polo. After she got married that’s when she unloaded on him how much she despised Balmoral, in particular. Hated his ‘tweedy friends and their inside jokes’. He was so much older and should have spent more time getting to know her and instead he viewed it as getting his father off his back to ‘stop dithering, Charles!’
Sarah can be a weird duck (bouncing a dog on your naked pregnant belly?), but I never realized how rude she could be to people. She seems a perfect match for Andrew even all these years later. I've never heard stories about Beatrice and Eugenie being rude to people, which makes me wonder who else may have been a strong influence in their lives...perhaps the late Queen, a devoted nanny or close friends they may have made as they grew older?
Perhaps the York daughters were kinder because they were embarrassed at their parents' rude behavior. You either are determined not to be your parents or you become them.
@@Anna-BernadetteGood point. I think it takes strong-willed children to recognize their parents' shortcomings and choose not to emulate their bad behavior and lack of manners.

Crudités- it is possibly the fact that crudités comes from the latin crudus, meaning "rough, not cooked, raw, bloody". So he's kind of saying "bloody bloody" and saying it in a "rough" voice with the growl. Its kind of like saying los angeles angels, chai tea, or the sahara desert (the angels angels, tea tea, or the desert desert)
Personally, I think he was trying to make a joke, When I was younger, we used to call this dish 'crudities' (in the smutty sense of the word) so maybe Charles was also implying this?
The Diana/Charles problem was on Diana. She was supremely self centered, immature and unrealistic. She was unable to maintain a single healthy relationship. Diana was not good friends with the recent widow,it would have been better for an actual friend to have been there.
I always believed that Charles never loved Diana. I have changed my mind. He seems to have been fond of her at one time. I don't think she loved him but was caught up in being royal and romance.
@ l.h.2543 The failure of their marriage is on both of them. Their respective upbringing created two people who were unable to relate in a positive way to each other on an emotional level (no empathy for each other)

That joke isn't what I'd call a knee-slapper, but maybe it revolves around the fact that in more genteel times "bloody" was considered a swear word. So "bloody crudités" (crudities) might be considered a double-barrelled swear.
My mother was not allowed to say bloody. Her Mum, My lovely Nana used to tell me off too. Some kids when I was six or so used to say things like "Oh the bloody tower". It's part of the Tower of London, and other such things if bloody was part of the name. That was in the 70s. My parents didn't mind it though.

I think their marriage was doomed from the begining. At worst, Diana was dishonest by acting like she was someone that she was not, to attract K. Charles and seriously hunted him down. At worst on K. Charles part, he was in love with another woman. Whether emotional or physical, he was not going into this marriage with a full heart for P. Diana.. They both entered into a marriage with false actions. They may have "tried" at some points but even lust only acts as a bandaid, not a solution, and only lasts so long. My grandmother used to say, when you have feelings for someone, it is only human nature to show your best side. In that, you do not really even START seeing basic faults until after 6 months to a year. Those two rushed into it but also had dishonesty and deceit in their hearts from the beginning. Maybe if they both had been upfront from the begining, they would have realised that they, while great people in their own way, together they just brought out the worst in each other.it is a very sad story. Unfortunately some people feel that the end always justifies the means. 😢

I love your book reviews. You do a perfect Diana. Thank you for taking the time to keep us entertained.
I learned the hard way decades ago that the opposite of love isn’t hate.
The opposite of love is indifference.
Once a relationship reaches that stage the relationship is over whether people “stay together “ or not.
It sounds like her, the ski trip was the absolute end. Charles probably didn’t want her there anyway. I wouldn’t have.
Ps I don’t want this book to end. The sign of a great one.
As the ex wife of a cheater, I can assure you that most of us do not want to make up and go to bed together. The fear of contracting a disease is usually the least of the multiple reasons for avoiding sex.
Yikes! Glad you've managed to move on! 😊
09:07 no I don't think it was because of age difference because her protection officer Barry Mannakee(whith whom Diana was flirting outrageously in episode 3)was 2 years older than charles, Diana's other lover Oliver Hoare was also older than charles.
I think they should just not get married.
I think they should just not get married.
Your show is most enjoyable. Thank you
Glad you enjoy it!
I met both Fergie and Princess Ann informally and they were the absolute most kindest, nicest people!
This was so heartwarming to hear about Charles playing with the boys ♥️
I dont normally watch this type of video but I'm really enjoying it. Now I cant wait for your next video.
There’s a whole playlist of you want to catch up on the four previous episodes!
Fergie's father was Prince Philip's polo manager and good friend. Fergie grew up with Andrew and Edward. Charles and Anne
knew her. After her parent's spilt up, HMTQ made a special effort to include Fergie in events like birthday parties, and riding on
weekends with her own children (She is a good horsewoman). According to some sources, she was always a little bit "naughty"
(breaking rules to some extent) her behavior towards those outside of the BRF got worse after her marriage.
New sub here and I must say that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the way you narrate and your side comments make me giggle!! Keep this videos!
Much love from northern Indiana ❤️
Welcome aboard!
You're right, Charles sounds like an overall delightful and warm man. Sure he can be cranky at times, but who among of us is without faults?
Elitists at this level a different species. It’s a mistake to decide there’s anything normal about them.
Wikipedia says that the word crudite literally means crude, raw, bloody...so guessing Charles was amused at the play on words
" bitter viper venom "...I like that description...
Maybe the joke is just that crudités are simply fresh veggies and dip? Such a fancy word for his damm veggies from the garden? I dunno either.
We are clearly out of our depth here lol. 😆
The opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s indifference.
The children's soldier costumes were gifts from James Hewitt, her riding instructor. Also explains her improved mood!
@@notpurrfect6397 riding instructor just smoke and mirrors.
She never did any riding. There is not one photograph of her on a horse and she did not like horses or dogs. Just like we have never seen Catherine Middleton on a horse.
Ok, now I get why Harry is the way he is, entitled to the max. These people obviously have no idea how the general public lives. Wow!
I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying this, it's so interesting and insightful without the spite or speculation *some* authors peddle. I also love your Diana voice. I was on the Elizabeth Line- the newest tube ( subway) line in London on Friday and the announcement voice reminded me of your Diana and I got the giggles. Thank you 😊
You’re a great story teller.. I look forward to your next video❤
Love all the voices💜
It's more of a finger food. Vegetables cut into sticks you dip into different sauces. They're served as nibbles before sitting down for a meal.
Great video, thanks. Fergie does come across as quite obnoxious. I always felt sorry for her when the press were roasting her, but not anymore. I had read the book before, but your angle on it is quite refreshing, also funny in parts.
Thank you dear girl...im loving this so much!😊❤❤
Crudités- it is possibly the fact that crudités comes from the latin crudus, meaning "rough, not cooked, raw, bloody".
Fergie always struck me as being vile. I wondered how she ever married into the royal family.
I thought she was fun when they first got married. Of course, I only saw the Public Persona.
@@lesgensdeprovenceontlaparo6531 she had also cohabited with a racing driver for several years.

Because Fergie married vile Andrew.
Yes!!!!!!...just popped up on my feed!!!!...I am just loving these videos...great book...hope you are enjoying your holidays...
@ l.h.2543
The failure of their
marriage is on both
of them.
Their respective
upbringing created
two people who were
unable to relate in
a positive way to
each other on an
emotional level
(no empathy for
each other)
@l.h.2543. I think you will find Charles was as self-centered and immature as Diana and the only reason he has relationships or friendships is because he's a prince/king. He's a man-child like most men but worse.
@@user-vf3zi6we3g
Believable!
Prince Philip was known to be awful to his
staff --- Gee, where did Charles and Andrew get that from? {snark}
@@user-vf3zi6we3g I agree Charles was very self-centered. But Diana was a complete loon who catfished him By portraying herself as a country girl, who loved Balmoral
You are excellent at imitating Diana top marks ❤🎉
This book is wild! Oh, and I absolutely love your Princess Diana impressions. It's bloody brilliant!
Could you imagine Fergie using the Americans for money if they had known about this book! Thanks!❤
Poor gullible Americans, always lift up the rebel royals.
I'd have ironed the top few and left the rest creased lol
When you said Charles was supposed to be the spiritual leader of his house, that was right on point. While he's home taking communion by himself, he completely neglects his spiritual duties to his own family, and you get the impression he is oblivious to it.
Crudity is likely the pun
Can't wait for the next installment!
Loving this book, and your comments 😀
Your hair looks so gorgeous!!!
All I know about the crudites, is that it's a Windsor family joke, a longstanding one, and it has to do with the pronunciation. And it is a tidbit I read, years ago, I don't know where. I think is originated with Charles and Anne.
Followers, let's like, share and subscribe to Cheere's delightful channel. She is such an excellent reader and commentator. She deserves double, treble and more members!
So kind! Thank you!!
You really bring to life this entertaining book. I can see the scenes so clearly in my mind.
That joke isn't what I'd call a knee-slapper, but maybe it revolves around the fact that in more genteel times "bloody" was considered a swear word. So "bloody crudités" (crudities) might be considered a double-barrelled swear.
This.
This makes most sense and , I think, not a bad joke at all.
@@TefiTheWaterGipsy It was definitely considered a "bad" word earlier in the 20th century. Remember in Shaw's 'Pygmalion', Eliza Doolittle creates a sensation when she says "Walk? Not bloody likely! I'm going in a taxi."
I don't think H knew about this book when he wrote Waaagh.
Have you never seen the film "The lion in winter?" Peter O'toole Katharine Hepburn play Henry ll and Elearnor of Aquittaine have a ding dong of one upmanship one winter in the eveventh century with their children...

Yes I just opened the app and it’s perfect timing for a new juicy chapter! 👏😄
Loved this episode! I have already posted twice 😬 but gotta say that Fergie’s behavior seems intentional- she knew who Wendy was! Insulting her or anyone for that matter is outrageous- I’m horrible with names, always have been, but I would never ask anyone their name that way? Crazy ugly.
Really enjoying this book! I'm here for any book you do. Thank you so much Cheere!
I get way too excited when you pop up in my alerts😂😂😂😂
I’ve been binge watching your videos for a week. Love them! Thank you
I never thought of Charles as a bad parent. He always seem as a loving father. Likewise I know Diana was a wonderful mother with a huge heart!!
Your facial expressions crack me up. 😂
He wasn’t in love with Camilla , when he married, they had a deep friendship but they had gone their separate ways because of their situations, but when they caught up through mutual friends ( Petronella Whyatt) they had similar experiences having seriously unfaithful, partners That brought them close.
Thanks. Home from a long day, enjoying this just relaxing
Fergie is a good match for Andrew hence they are still together lol

Cheere Denise can you imagine, the Prince of Wales asking for a tray of raw veggies from a top of the line chef? Haha it is kinda funny.
fantastic!! KEEP GOING......... I look forward to this
Crudites is raw vegetables. "Bloody" (the original Lat. means bloody,) and the word is considered "Crude" .
the British using the work “ bloody” as a swear word is akin to an American saying The G.D. Whatever…it references the blood of Christ..so it started out a bit blasphemous….The French word for cold sliced veg. Is pronounced…Crew…De…Tay….
@@virginialangford6257 And the word 'crudity' is very similar. Charles' joke was NOTHING to do with 'bloody' and everything to do with a silly schoolboy take on a word. 'Nuff said?

Charles was not calling the veg 'bloody'. They are raw. He was having a wee schoolboy snicker at the word 'crudity'

There is such a thing
as an emotional affair.
@lindamanuel9073 Diana admitted that she was the first to step out on the marriage. In an interview, I believe, with speech coach Peter Setelin. Does not mean that is true, since she bent the truth all the time, but she is on videotape saying that.
Awesome Book! It’s my fav so far❤
I have no idea what the joke could be - it must be British humor.
Is it something from _The Goon Show_ ? That was a longtime favorite of Charles', and it was heavy on puns and non sequiturs. Was it a crudité/crudity pun?
There was no joke, just Charles demanding this new dish he loved in french every evening.
I agree with everything you say, I just inject a little extra perspective to think about
Your "Diana" is perfect!
They only thing I can think of regarding Charles's pronunciation of crudites is emphasizing Crude - because he thought it was bawdy? I'm not sure.
