I live in Leeds, West Yorkshire, what a brilliant speaker he was although the comments would be classed as racist today i guess that’s what it was like back then, maybe it was the only way to get back at the might of the West Indies. Could we have more uploads please of his cricketing anecdotes. Thanks all.
Very funny, racist it may be but back then people had a sense of humour and the west indians, Indians and Australians gave as good as they got, trouble these days is too many people like to take offence for other people.
Being of Indian origin, growing up in London in the early 70's and 80's with the English, West Indian, Pakistani and various Europeans was a laugh. We were calling each other some very colourful names and at worst it amounted to schoolboy fisticuffs. TV programs like Love Thy Neighbour, It Ain't Half Hot and my favourite - Till Death Us Do Part were an absolute joy to watch. I still watch them now.
Absolutely brilliant !
Bugger, Boycott, there speaks a true Yorkshireman. Not a wannabe Home Counties knob.
