@@aubunker Oh yes he definitely has Broadway "chops". You should be to find video of him doing freestyle rap for the Broadway Cares charity when he was playing Burr in Chicago! Wayne also took over the role of Lola in Kinky Boots once Billy Porter left the show!
I got to see him as Lola in Kinky Boots when I went to NY, he slayed that too. The cast also did a freestyle for charity. I guess the imrpov side doesn't surprise anyone but seeing it live was still a top experience in my life
Wayne Brady is our national treasure. What a multi-talented beautiful man he is. I was so thrilled to run across this today! Thanks for posting, littleasianme.
I don’t know how I only just realized that this is the only casting for Aaron Burr that could ever be as good as Leslie. But hot DAMN gotta love Wayne. I - no joke - regularly rewatch his Masked Singer performances because they’re so good
I actually quite like Lyndon Watts as Aaron Burr from the Australian production as much as I like Leslie. He just suited burr so well but also didn’t seem quite as harsh as Leslie, he added a bit of something to the performance. (Not saying I don’t like Leslie, I do, I just enjoy seeing how different actors portray the characters and I think Lyndon’s is lovely)
Wayne Brady as Burr is S tier casting, the man is phenomenally talented. If he ever decides to bring his talent to Broadway, I'm scoring another ticket
I met him at a stage door in NYC when he was in 'Chicago' - he was the COOLEST, nicest, most gracious & chatty dude I ever met. Took photos, answered questions, made us laugh. I'll never forget it. Incredible guy
Wayne Brady's phenomenal to have been put on the spot by Christopher Jackson in that moment, clearly very nervous, and still perform that well. Not that I'm surprised. Any "Whose Line..." fan knows he's an amazing singer.
I'm glad you stumbled across it and enjoyed it. I loved hearing him sing a song from "Hamilton" too and I'm glad I could share it with fellow fans who equally appreciate it! ^_^
I would have loved to see him play the character in Chicago. I didn't get to start seeing Hamilton live until last year. I've seen it twice now. But I have loved him since watching who's line as a kid. Glad to finally see a video of him singing one of the songs atleast.
He messed up one of the lyrics but it doesn't matter. I've always wanted to hear his rendition of Wait For It, I bet his Room Where It Happens is just as fantastic. I'm seeing Hamilton in 3 days and I can't wait
Update: I didn't get to see it in NY but I will maybe be seeing it in LA later this year in September and then next year in February again at the same venue like the first 2 times. I can't wait!
So cool to watch him dance to this yesterday!! Would’ve been even better if he recorded the song to use it during the dance. He is super talented and a joy to watch!
He was in Chicago as the other person said but he's a busy guy. Even during his run there were a handful of dates he couldn't be there due to other obligations.
Update: I saw the Show twice and this Cast amazing, the And Peggy Tour Cast 10/10 DeAundre' Woods is a perfect Hamilton and much better than Lin. Morgan Anita Wood delivered Eliza so so well, Donald Webber Jr as Burr was amazing. Darnell Abraham absolute perfection as Washington. I'm going to see the Show for a 3rd time later this year in New York, this will be my first time ever seeing it on Broadway and I cannot wait
When is he hitting up Broadway as Burr ? Or Hamilton? Or literally any part cuz he could do any of them! I feel he’s be great as Washington too with his voice and “one last time”
I loved this he's a great singer but all i could focus on was the fact he messed up the line "Hamilton faces an endless uphill climb" he sang a line from a little later instead but it was still amazing!
I love Wayne, but did he fuck up the lyrics and sing "Hamilton's pace is relentless, he wastes no time" twice? I had to rewind and check because I know it's "Hamilton faces an endless uphill climb"...
Good catch. But there are so many words in this song! And they go by so fast! I was watching Brady sing and how enunciated every word - what an amazing performance.
Yep you’re right. I was humming along and went “huh wtf” because I wasn’t expecting the lyric slip especially considering he was in the Chicago production for a while!
I love Wayne’s singing but sorry, he’s no Leslie Odom when it comes to playing Aaron Burr. I believe in making a character your own but Leslie one is a tough act to follow with his amazing performances and two Wayne doesn’t personify this character for me. He didn’t command it as Leslie did. Kudos for doing the Chicago shows and his amazing voice in his own right but I can see why he never did the Broadway renditions.
How has this man not visibly aged since I watched him on Whose Line Is It Anyway in the early 2000s? 😂
Black don't crack baby!
he just has less hair
I'm not surprised......Wayne Brady is a multi-talent and he stared as Aaron Burr in the Chicago company of Hamilton for like 6 months!
I didn’t know that! I bet he was awesome!
For real??? Gotta find me some videos of that! 😮
I saw him in Chicago. Wayne's Burr was strong, charming and funny. I knew he could sing, but I was taken aback by his vocals. He was VERY good.

Nik walker is a better burr IMO
FYI. Marcus Choi is incredible Washington.
@@Hamiltons_in_the_Heights I WAS JUST ABOUT TO SAY LYNDON! He is my favourite Burr (and ive seen a lot of them)

Wayne's voice never stops making my heart melt. Ever since Whose Line is It Anyway, his voice had me!
His voice is so perfectly suited to this song. So good. 🙂
Beautiful version, this song needs so much passion, he gave it.
We love you Wayne Brady!! You are such a legend!!
i heard him on the masked singer. and i was like there’s no way he wouldn’t be a perfect fit for aaron burr. and alas, he has played that role
“I’m Wayne Brady b!tch!”
That was the line, that made me love him. And I’m a man
I'm hopelessly in love with this man.
Goosebumps! Love Wayne! And this is my favorite HamilSong too… wish I could have seen him in Chicago during his run!

If you didn't know he played Burr in Chicago in 2017. I wish he would play Burr again. I'd love to see him in the play
@@CaseyPriceForsakenhero Oh man, now I wanna hear him sing ALL of Burr's songs
Finally!!! I've been looking everywhere for a video of him singing Wait for it. Thank you for posting this!
I would have loved to have seen him Hamilton in Chicago!❤
I wished I'd gotten to see Wayne in this role, goddamn ❤
Love him so much. So talented.
I am absolutely blown away by HAMILTON and every song in it. I listen to the soundtrack EVERYDAY while at work.

I know he played Aaron Burr in Chicago but why has he never played him on Broadway?! His voice is so smooth!
Chicago is still big.
@@leah6820-y9v certainly true, Broadway is just... HUGE...
Goddamn. This song still gives me chills every time I listen to it. An absolute masterpiece.
Go Wayne! He killed it!
Seeing him do a serious role like this is shockingly good.
Wow Wayne Brady killed it
This man exudes talent. What can’t he do?
Perfectly executed! Wonderful.❤
I hope he gets the 1st perfect score for this on DWTS on Monday!!! I also want to hear this version
Loved that! Thank you!!

WOW Love Wayne Brady's voice since WLIIA
oh im back at this video again. loving it
I know him as James Stinson from HIMYM and I have hamilton memorized so seeing this crossover is so amazing to me
He's dancing to this song tonight on Dancing with The Stars!!
Chills ❤️
If they ever do a movie, I could easily see him as Washington
Holy ssshhhhiiiiiii. . . . .. . Best performance next to Leslie himself IMO.
Put him in the NYC Broadway show!!!
He was in the Chicago production for a while
He was in Chicago as the other person said but he's a busy guy. Even during his run there were a handful of dates he couldn't be there due to other obligations.

I know he will win dancing with the stars
I know him! He sung the theme song for that Disney show!
Of course he liked it!
Wow! He could do that part so we’ll.
Is he putting on an accent for this? Have only ever heard him sing on Whose Line. He's so talented
He would be SO good as Aaron Burr! Broadway- take note!

It was a concert.
He and Christopher Jackson had a show.
I dont understand why the guy never made albums
He has albums

Yeah, he did. But you wouldn't know from how he carried himself in this video! Didn't even flinch, as far as I could tell.
