Hi Friends, we've been busy around here with Christmas festivities, which is why posting has been delayed. I post on Instagram daily (short video snippets of my day), so if you'd like to keep up with all things LMR, you can pop over there. Much love, and I'll see you again soon! ~Chelsea
Hi Chelsea, new member here. When I click on your links for the recipes it takes me to your website but when I search for it nothing comes up. What am I doing wrong? Loving your videos!
Oh, how I wish I had gotten my late mother's recipes from her. She always tried to encourage me to cook, but while I was working full-time, I wasn't interested. Now that she's in heaven, and I'm retired, I have discovered I love to cook. Classic example why we should document everything we can from our parents and grandparents' memories while we can.
My dad passed from cancer and your tattoo story is so lovely. Teared me up. Thank you for sharing this part of your life. I love that you didn't "fix" it.
You simply amaze me. You are so busy on your beautiful farm, I just can’t imagine and those frigid temps don’t make it easy. Does anyone else feel like a part of the family? Blessings to you and your family. Love, from New Orleans.
I cannot believe that Maple and outside cats do not get into the things you ‘pop onto the outside freezer’ our Border Collie would have a field day! She’s too smart for her own good. Good dog Maple.
Border Collies are amazingly smart & fast which is why they’re the best breed for agility courses. They’re so smart & fast trainers have to make them slow down so they don’t hurt themselves. I work with dogs but have chocolate labs. They’ll eat anything they can swallow. Christmas Eve 2001 I came home to find 2 of my black labs had gotten out of their runs we’d put them in & ate a full banquet table of cookies that took me 3 weeks to make! I cried all night bc I lost gifts & thought I was gonna lose them! Same dogs that ate 5pounds of flour & lightbulbs that was in a shopping bag.
I love recipes. To me they are treasured memories and I cherish them. I made each one of my children and each grandchild a hand made recipe book with all the favorite recipes they had grown up with. I wrote who they came from and how they were related. So I enjoyed this video so much! Listening to your family stories with each recipe and the tattoo ❤. Tell your mom thank you for writing them up and I thank you both for sharing your treasured memories. God bless
Love your videos. It's -20°F in Montana right now, & I'm in to warm up with some breakfast. Critters are fed & watered, & there's only one chicken in a crate in the house at the moment, but many a goat kid & calf have warmed up in my home over the years, so your "piglets in the house" seem totally fine to me. 🤣
I'd ove a kitchen full of piglets! I loved the story of your Dad and your tattoo--I noticed the misspelling a few years ago and suspected there was a story behind it. Now I know and feel honored that you shared. Thank you.
My dad passed about a month ago. I am finding him in lots of little moments or gifts that I have received that make them more meaningful…it just seems to work out that way. What a special way to remember him that worked out just perfectly. Happy holidays.
Absolutely love the story about your tattoo. The short bread cookies you made we have them here in Denmark. It’s called fork cookies and the recipe is almost the same as yours. So funny.😂😂
So there is actually an advantage for you when it's so cold outside. You get to chill whatever you need without all the waiting. I also have to commend you and your husband. You both seem to work so tirelessly. It's nice to see the fruits of your labour. Wish you both, along with the children success in all you set out to do. You seem to have a lot of good memories of your childhood and that's a good thing.
My fridge, freezer & DR table are covered with homemade candy & a few cookies. I’m down to my last few batch of old fashioned hard candy, caramel cutting/wrapping & chocolate dipping. I’m the only canner & homemade cooking/baking person in both sides of our family(& most of of friends) so it’s their favorite gift. Works for me too since I have the basics(like 84lbs of sugar) in my pantry. A Canadian whipped shortbread cookie given to me by my sister-in-law’s grandmother is my very favorite cookie recipe too. You’re right-a lot of butter, cornstarch keeps them from spreading, but they’re whipped like whipped cream & very fragile so they don’t travel well. Which is fine, more for me!
My Aunt Helen made a sugar cookie that everyone in the family loved. No one, since she has passed, has succeeded in making them the same. I am attempting it today! (Gulp.). First batch tasted right, but not done. She once told me the secret was only 4 min in the oven! Going to try rolling thinner and see what happens. Fingers crossed!
The piglets are so adorable. The desserts look so AMAZING. I can't wait to get your cookbook. I hope Kate's rolls recipe are in the book as well. So glad you had time with your family. Love the story of your misspelled tattoo. Makes it more special. I have two tattoos. I have a fairy on a quarter moon and a butterfly. I want to have my butterfly redone. Needs more color. I want to put autism puzzle pieces in the wing for my grandson who has Autism. And for the other 4 grandchildren I want other special things. Bumblebee, ladybug, sunflower. Still need to figure out my other grandson's image. Have an awesome day...stay warm.
Oh Martha! I reeeeeally want a Martha 😂 You also inspired me to get some butter warming up to room temp. A good baking day here on snowy Vancouver Island.
Your baking looks amazing! Thanks for sharing the story of your Dad and the tattoo - I believe it was meant to be for a future smile. I am the same with wool - which is why I line the mittens with flannel. I am so glad you can wear the cowl - makes such a big difference. A very Merry Christmas to your family and all the best in 2023. In case you don't know my name here - its Dianne from Needle and Spice.
I was so happy when I saw a video pop up from LMR & Chelsea. But after watching a bit, I always click to see how much video is left to enjoy....they go so fast. Who else does this? Just me? 😂 I love spending time at LMR ❤️
Loved hearing your tattoo story about your Dad....teared up. Those recipes all look incredible! Thank uyou so much for sharing. Oh and the piglets....so sweet!!!!!
What a wonderful way to spend my evening. I am so pleased you are gathering some of your mum’s recipe now. I have quite a few of my mum’s too, but now she is so weak and frail, most of her recipes she has forgotten. We are so blessed to be able to have the recipes and the memories they bring when we make them. Touching story about your tattoos and your dad. Thank you my friend ❄️💕❄️
Thank you for sharing your Dad story! So special. My Dad passed away a few years ago. He always wore plaid shirts . At the celebration of his life, all of us kids wore plaid and now on his birthday wherever we are on that day we wear plaid , a "Plaid for Dad" day. Looks like you have another up and coming baker in the family! Sure enjoying these videos on these very cold Alberta evenings! Merry Christmas!
I love that you keep your children safe and private. I've deleted others for doing the opposite. Your cooking is great,, but I'm older and don't do sweets. Merry Christmas to you all
Tattoo story is lovely. I’m planning to get one for my late son someday. Here’s tip for pastry dough when you done made it then roll it out then put it on cookie sheet and put it in freezer, save your time and labor.
Aaaawww ❤️ about the tats 🫂 my dad always loved ' one Day at a Time' so it's been my motto . He succumbed to cancer a n d I still feel him with me ♡ I love your beautiful soul ❤️
I loved your story about your “ greatful tattoo” it was heart warming. The piglets are so sweet and their momma is too. I was worried about them. Stay warm and thank you for wonderful videos.❤
You reminded me of my dad. He was quite dyslexic and loved his shortbread cookies. We made Scottish style(1 part butter, 2 parts yellow or light brown sugar, 4 parts unbleached flour. Could add a wee dram of scotch), mixed with the wooden spoon and hands. Rolled out with a 100 year old pin(still can't use the ones with separate handles), and cut. Sometimes use a traditional mould. The 1st batch was sacrificial as he would pussyfoot through the kitchen and vanish into hiding with a handful of cookies- and he had big hands. Had to hide other batches from the cookie monster. Your goodies look wonderful and the outdoor fridge is handy but I have a raccoon thief. Plan on trying that marzipan recipe.
What a lovely treat, being able to cuddle piglets. Fab recipes today Chelsea, we don't really eat sweet things now and one of my grandchildren is anaphylactic to nuts and lots of other ingredients, so I don't make anything for them. Their mum does it as she has to know everything she is putting in is safe. Hope you and your family have a Joyous Christmas and a Happy & Healthy New Year. Thank you for sharing xxx
Canada’s frigid cold snap has started to make it’s way down to the States. I hope it doesn’t make it down to -30/-40°f but it is forecasted to do so here in Minnesota!😫 We could possibly add an additional 5-12inch of snow onto the 29 inch pack we already have! This storm is expected to last from Tues-Sun! Glad to hear you all are going to warm up just in time for Christmas! I haven’t done any baking this year as I still haven’t fixed my Kitchen Aide and the cost of ingredients; I use only the best quality; has become to expensive this year. Your treats look so yummy. I’ll get the recipes when I buy your book. Be well and stay safe❣️🎄
I don’t understand how the animals can handle the temperature fluctuations. I’m in Minnesota so I have spent time in the bitter cold. I think you are colder there though. I love your tattoo story. It’s very special. Brought tears to my eyes. Don’t you love being able to cool to use the outdoors for a freezer or fridge. Thanks Chelsea
I’m actually in awe at the moment, just in the short time you’ve been outside, frost is starting to form around the edges and mouth area of your cowl, very scary, mind you don’t get a lung chill. 😟💋❣️
OMG.. sweetness overload.. I would be in .. “HOG HEAVEN”..🤣 .. the piglets are sooooo cute!! Such a special tattoo story💜You absolutely wear me out🤣🤣🤣💜
I’m new to your channel but I so enjoyed your ratio story. After loosing my dad 10 years ago I’m so glad these memories bring a smile to your soul. Merry Christmas to you all - from Tennessee!
Chelsea, those are wonderful recipes. It’s amazing how fast you throw these things together. Hey, next the little one makes another cherry pie, let us see if after it bakes so we can give her or him some fun posts just for them!! ♥️🙏🏼🎄🎅🏻🎁
Thanks for sharing all of your family's sweet-treat recipes, Chelsea...can't wait for your cook book to become available! Also, thanks for sharing the progress of those adorable little oinkers--they are such pretty colors--and for sharing your heartwarming tattoo story. You're an inspiration with everything you do. Warm Holiday Blessings to you and your family! 🙂💝💖💞
Enjoyed this. Really enjoyed your story about the tattoos. My dad passed away in 2016 from cancer. He battled many cancers. Thank you for sharing your story. It touched my heart.

I'm in southern Wisconsin, in the US, we get cold but I don't think I could handle the cold you have. You, your family and your animals are amazing to withstand that cold.

I always say what meant to be it will be, you and your sister getting a tattoo in honour of your dad that couldn’t spell it was to be 😊🇬🇧love the channel.
It's lovely that she trusts you so much to take care of her babies! And i bet she appreciates the extra sleep :P When they're in the house, what do you keep them in? I've seen some people use storage totes lined with straw or shredded newspaper or even old towels and blankets
Good Wednesday morning Little Mountain Ranch. All four of your homemade Christmas treats look absolutely delicious, but I believe my favourite are those Marzipan squares. I definitely can't wait to mix up a batch. Thanks for sharing more great recipes.
Ï wish you and your family à Merry christmas and à happy and joyful new year.looking for ward to follow you in 2023.just love your vidéos. Greetings from France (Normandy)😍😍

We recently had 40 pounds of onions to process & I bought swim goggles just for that. I will NEVER cut onions any other way. Not a single tear was she’d 🤯 Genius!!
So nice to come home from work and see you have uploaded a video that makes my day. Didn’t know that marzipan was a thing in Canada. It’s a huge thing here in Denmark.

I really feel like the accidental misspelling in the present moment was a future wink from your papa. Such a sweet thing to have forever & ever. 💕🫶🏽💪🏽

Combo of piglets and Christmas treats, what's not to like? Love the story about the tattoos!
Thank you for sharing the story about your dad. Genius idea for the tatoo. -- From a fellow dyslexic.
Piglets are too cute. You’re a blessed woman and it’s a joyous to learn from you. I am grateful.
You make shortbreads exactly like my Mum does. I have never made them and never will until she's gone. ~It's her magic 😊💗
Always feels like an afternoon of baking with a friend....because I'm American all that was missing was a cup of coffee to go with all the treats!🤣
Your story about your "Grateful" tattoo was so endearing & made the screen go blurry. Thank you for sharing ❤ Merry Christmas
Thank you! You too!
My mom just passed on Thanksgiving. This story meant so much! Thank you for sharing such a personal moment.

You amaze Mr how you can do baking marathons! So much work.
I love anything almond flavored!
The piggy squeals are sooo cute!
God works in wonderful ways such as a “misspelled” tattoo! Simply beautiful!!
My mom would do nuts and raisins in the jewel loaf and eventually she would do berries and chocolate chips :). Super yum. Such memories!
I love your tattoo memory. Your dad is smiling with you.
Loved the tattoo story.

Here in Northwest Wyoming it's -46°F. Blizzard, wind chills and Livestock Warning through Friday
Ouch! The blowing snow and wind makes cold so much worse!
Hah! At first glance, I thought that the title said "35 piglet in the house". 🤣🤣
I live in Victoria, bc. -4 C and 12 inches of snow! Unusual for us.
🤣
😂😂😂😂

What a beautiful life. I am ever greatful for you and your wonderful stories. Stay warm & stay excellent friends
Such a sweet tattoo story, Chelsea. It brought tears to my eyes. 😢😢

Your goodies look wonderful and the outdoor fridge is handy but I have a raccoon thief. Plan on trying that marzipan recipe.
Wonderful! Loved all of the cooking, layering, piglet feeding! So informative and entertaining!
What a lovely treat, being able to cuddle piglets. Your marzipan bar is very similar to something we in the UK call a Bakewell tart.. Looks lovely..
I thought of that too here in Australia 🇦🇺 but I couldn't remember the name of the tart 😅 thanks 😊
You’re dad made him spell it wrong. To remind you of him on a more personal level ❤❤
I don’t understand how the animals can handle the temperature fluctuations. I’m in Minnesota so I have spent time in the bitter cold. I think you are colder there though. I love your tattoo story. Love it! Way faster than the freezer even.

I make a similar marzipan tasting tart. With ground almonds and rice flour. Lovely frangiapani taste . Yum x
