Just stumbled upon this song on Spotify, never heard of the band before. Fell in love instantaneously! So happy, now I'm gonna go through their entire discography! Missed me some German since Equilibrium stopped using it! I really love when Folk metal bands sings in their native tongue regardless from where they're from!

I have always said to anyone asking what my favorite song ever was that it is without doubt Mach dich Frei because it is one of the only song ever that could make me cry by it's beautyfullness and the extraordinary quality of it's composition anytime I listen to it .... and there you did it again Finsterforst ... you are masters... thank you so much !

Dude I didnt have to understand the lyrics the first 10 times I listened to it, because I knew they were deep. Lyrics have always attracted me to certain bands, these guys did something different for me, they drew me in with the melodies and jams. Then I read the lyrics and I was like God Damn!!!

@@AUM_-po9sc True that, the grand time of folk metal has been over for quite a while. And the ones that are still trying to be commercially successful are either becoming cheesy as f. or end up doing the same over and over again. Folk metal has moved into the underground, you can still find great bands like Manegarm, Tyr, Moonsorrow f.e. Equilibrium was just the perfect recent example for doing the In Flames move trying to still reach a broader audience, changing their sound to some generic mass product. And I loved their music for their majestic, mystical and somewhat still heavy style.

They haven't fallen. The new songs are very cool. They just should rename the band in something else than Equilibrium, that's all. There should be two bands : Equilibrium Epic Folk, and Equilibrium Others.
too many bands have given up the past years.. KromleK, Bifröst to name only 2 that were absolutely amazing in that genre. Equilibrium decided to go different ways, doesnt mean its a downfall at all though. but i agree - we need more folk and pagan metal bands again

Какие-то слабые тут комменты, откровенно говоря, удивлен, братцы. Этот альбом просто шикарен по всем параметрам. Их музыка это что-то невероятно глубокое, пробуждающее в человеке ту часть, которую неумолимо тянет к лесу, горам, морю. Зачем сравнивать со всеми этими Equilibrium, Finntroll, Moonsorrow, ну где там то же самое? Больше аккордеона, мужики! I wish you best of luck, let you be not rich enough in order not to spoil your creativity :)
Честно говоря, я когда услышал их и прослушав вышеуказанные группы, то никакого эквилибриума, финтролла и прочих нужно не стало! Музыка о.уенна, слова о.уенны, чувства до мурашек пробирает - так глубоко заходит. Эту группу лично я только с моей любимой Железной Девой могу сравнить - только она у меня вызывала такие чувства и так пробирала как они. А если прослушать внимательно их эпичные 20, 30-минутки и сравнить их с эпичностью "нынешнего" мира, то я не знаю, мне кажется только дурак не увидит там того будущего которое предвещают эти песни и которое при всех параметрах скорее всего чисто физически и может произойти. Ecce Homo за последние несколько лет одна из десятка максимум которая, .лядь, выдавила из меня слёзы, человека который Себя Режу Без Ножа Достабль)) и валялся и в крови и в говне. Абсолютно поддерживаю данный коммент хотя бы поэтому. Их альбом zum Tode hin прямо говорит какое хорошее будущее нас ждёт и мне сложно с этим не согласиться - первый альбом который я у них услышал и не понял сразу, пока не почитал тексты, не вслушался в музыку, не прочувствовал атмосферность. К остальным песням я нашёл подход сразу, так как уже знал как и с чем их музыкой питаться. И не каждая нынешняя группа так явно нам показывает тот путь который мы пройдём прежде чем переубиваем друг друга или наконец начнём включать коробку что на плечах.

And now (since a while to be honest) they don`t sound like a Finntroll copy anymore, but like "Finsterforst"...if that can`t be called "progression" then what else? Of course it`s pure subjective to like it or not.
@@suoquainen Never did hear Finntroll in them. But i now here Moonsorrow.. In german instead of Finnish :P

@@HPijl666 For me they reached their peak with "zum tode hin". On that album they also sounded like moonsorrow but still had their own sound. I just don't like those bras elements they have in there now... for me that destroys the epicness they had with just the flute accordion and the whistles (it also destroyed any similarity to moonsorrow with that). but that's just my opinion and they're allowed to do what they want. but imo not the same band since the vocalist left.
They were just boring tavern music on Weltenkraft, I don't know why so many people fell for that. ...zum Tode hin was good but their post-Rastlos style is the thing.

The lyrics are pretty good. Maybe a bit simplistic although I can't judge that in German but this misanthropic/existentialist vibe is quite fitting.

Sroljo wish they could go back to their weltenkraft years.... Hell even zum tode hin was a staple of beautiful melodies. This is still enjoyable, though and I will always love Finsterforst :)

"Yolo" was an EP and they made it mostly for lulz. So, all the hate is your own mistake.

Ich halts im Arsch nicht aus das ihr bei Wacken Winter Nights 2020 spielt . Ich freu mich Wahnsinnig.
Yet I wonder if their Shirts are friendly to nature or if it still is made in Taiwan with chemicals or something like that. I mean, it would suck hard if a band like Finsterforst just sells the usual nature unfriendly shirts most other bands do.
