The Interviewer was exceptionally sensitive and sincere with his questions, tone, and demeanor. Not as easy undertaking, just as it must’ve been so difficult for the person being interviewed. He was so honest and genuine, and I wish him all the success possible in the next 15 months and beyond.
After the 15 months has passed, it would interesting to hear an update to see how things went and also to hear another update in a year from his release to see how he has moved on in life. Best wishes to him and his family, may G-d comfort them and bring them clarity, peace and fulfillment 🙏🏼💗

When I visit clients there, I trully appreciate my faith and I see HaShem acting, protecting people in a exile in an exile because that is what prison is (the rebbe taught us that). As a client said to me once: "HaShem keep me here like I am in a box inside a drawer and He is waiting for the best moment to put me.into the world again to do better things". He have to keep his prayers, study and kosher life as possible and stay strong and focus. HaShem bless him and all his family.

Honesty (admittance) is the greatest lesson to be used anywhere in life(especially when it comes to solving arguments), in order to help both yourself and others you need honesty and transparency. I think this video brings to light the need for self reflection, before things may spiral chas v'shalom. Baruch Hashem we all lead busy lives, sometimes too busy to stop and check where were heading, or if/how/what were doing is affecting others. I think its sad yet eye opening that Eli needs to head to prison to realize this, i think we need to just take a brief moment to do a cheshbon hanefesh without needing a wake up call.

This happened to me, because of the money that people invested in contract was not fullfilled went into debts. Lost friendships, credibility and till to date the guy has not come back to pay the money. Baruch Hashem my work paid me money that was enough to pay back all those debts. It is painful and it's important to take responsibility as well. Do t be gullible also in going ro into business deals.
Like Eli said, communication is key, if he'd had more communication with his colleagues, maybe he could have stopped this terrible situation, but he has learned his lesson and is prepared to do his time in prison and like the rest of us, learning a very important lesson.

When translating "macher" (or "machir" as you spelled it), you should leave out "bigshot" in the future. I don't think it's generally what we mean when we say "macher". I feel like the word is usually used in a neutral or even sometimes positive way, whereas "bigshot" obviously gives it a very negative connotation.
"If I don't do this deal, everything is going to fall apart" was the beginning of the end, such a great episode. I advise investors in investments like this and it's so important to understand the other side of the business in order to do good due diligence.
Ponzi schemes are where people invest in something that isn't there. It happened here in my community. But we survived. It took a lot for the people who lost money and jobs I feel awful And families involved

I have had personal experience with a scammer gaslighting his victims instead of taking any responsibility. What these people do, is promise people a very very high interest for the money that they “ borrow” from you, in order for them to do deals. Some of them are very good at it, and in fact can pay the lenders their interest plus the original amounts for years. Then there is the unfortunate situation when their investments don’t work out, and the investors are left high and dry. Lesson learned….NEVER EVER a believe someone who promises you unrealistic gains.

I love the Living Lchaim podcast but I had to stop listening after this guy refused to communicate the crime that he committed. In his very vague explanation it appears he pocketed the $650,000 that his investors paid him. To hear 57 minutes of very generic life lessons and only 57 seconds of the crime, which he almost explained as bad luck due to COVID, made me regret ever listening to him in the first place.
Using money where it wasn't intended to is a crime in America. And the system/prosecuters/judges give heavy judgments on these things. Even if done unintentialy. It's a problem. Might as well murder someone, chas vasholem, because you'll get less jail time. Sad but true. I believe it's because our country/culture lives money/materialism above all else. So of course it will be the worse crime to mess with their money 'god'.
@@jacobehrenpreis1593 yes, I read the case after watching this, there were something like 30 wire transfers done in bad faith to cover up what is essentially embezzlement. He makes it like he is helping the aleph organization when he is really receiving help from them. This is a personality disorder, he is not healed. There is a also a family history. He says he still owes 350K - that is a lot of money. He said he was working in construction because a rabbi told him to do this, in reality, this is the only job available to someone awaiting sentencing. He is still not telling the truth. This was a sad episode because this person is a pathological liar, I feel it should not have been aired, this should never be glorified.
That might just because you were never put into his situation. The pressure is unreal to try to make things worse that you justify and temporarily do things that land you in trouble.

Using money where it wasn't intended to is a crime in America. And the system/prosecuters/judges give heavy judgments on these things. Even if done unintentialy. It's a problem. Might as well murder someone, chas vasholem, because you'll get less jail time. Sad but true. I believe it's because our country/culture lives money/materialism above all else. So of course it will be the worse crime to mess with their money 'god'.
@@jacobehrenpreis1593 yes, I read the case after watching this, there were something like 30 wire transfers done in bad faith to cover up what is essentially embezzlement. He makes it like he is helping the aleph organization when he is really receiving help from them. This is a personality disorder, he is not healed. There is a also a family history. He says he still owes 350K - that is a lot of money. He said he was working in construction because a rabbi told him to do this, in reality, this is the only job available to someone awaiting sentencing. He is still not telling the truth. This was a sad episode because this person is a pathological liar, I feel it should not have been aired, this should never be glorified.

That might just because you were never put into his situation. The pressure is unreal to try to make things worse that you justify and temporarily do things that land you in trouble.
