Robby, when Matt first introduced you to us MORR followers, I wasn't impressed. In the months since, you have proved me wrong time and time again. Can't help but respect someone with your work ethic and it's obvious you take pride in your work and I've been subscribed now for several months. You remind me a bit of an uncle who also had his own auto body business and who, though he was a little rough around the edges, worked his butt off to make his business a success; but he still made time for his family. Poor Hollie is going to invest in another rock crawler; Mischief Maker is going to be too nice to take into the rocks. Kudo's to you, man!
Thank you I would rather earn your sub then have you do it for no reason!! I’m happy to prove you wrong even tho I didn’t mean to haha thank you for watching!
@Ross : I felt pretty close to the same way at first. But every video Robby shows working on this Jeep impresses me even more. This guy is extremely skilled at what he does, and I also love the fact that he's a perfectionist. They are doing a freakin' fantastic job on this Jeep. And the Golden Nugget is coming together perfect as well. People in his area are lucky as hell to have his business there.
IMO, this channel was like most RUclips channels when starting out, and the quality/dynamic wasn't there yet. RLN has improved their videos dramatically in a few short months, and it's now one of my favorites as well.
Same; I figured I would just watch the GN videos, but now I watch all of them. Robby and his crew have really impressed me. And I am learning things, which is always great.
i also came over from MORR and fab rats and the golden nugget. i had the same thing happen. at first i was like is this guy for real or what? i was not sure i would watch this channel. but i like to give everyone a fair shot. since i have subscribed. i am now up to all notifications. i have watched every video. commented a few times. and even watched a few older videos. dinner really seals the deal on this channel for me. he makes me laugh and i love his positive attitude.
Hi Dinner a little note on using a tape measure,on that cloth type tape each line is 1/8” then you simply add 1/8” for each line in between each 1 inch line. The longer line in the middle between 0-1” is 1/2”. Then cut half way between the 0-1/2” the next shorter line is 1/4” then the shortest line between the 1/4”-0 is 1/8”. So take for example if you have three lines from the 0” line you have 3/8” ,if you add one more line you have 1/2” add one more line you have 5/8”. add another for 3/4” one more you are at 7/8” add one more you’re at 1” then you start again with the next line after the 1 inch line being 1 1/8” so each line you add 1/8”. With a metal tape measure the scale of measurements changes mostly from 1/8” to 1/16” lines. Some tape measures show an even smaller measurement with each line at 1/32”. The scale of which ever tape you might use is shown between the 0-1” markings. Tape measures can sometimes be a little tricky, hopefully this will help a little? Great video’s!
Not only am I learning about the mysteries of auto body repair but you guys crack me up while doing it. I'm glad I sub'd. Came for the nugget, stayed for the LAB crew.
Wow, Holly really beat the crap out of Mischief Maker! Proud to see some of our tools being used to help fix him back up! Excellent work Robby and Crew!
So glad Hillbilly is back, he was sorely missed. Love seeing all of your crew. They are a great hardworking bunch of guys. Great job on the camera, Ryker. Always excited to see a new video. Stay safe and GOD bless
Robbie Auto Adjustment and Re-alignment is way more complicated than meets the eye. I think your explanations goes a long way to show just how you all do things. And adjustments take time. You all need to get in touch with Paul over at Fab Rats. Snap-on Tools showed up at his place the other day. Maybe his contact can help you guys out! 🙄😊😁
Like many, I came here from MORR. Watching people get pulled out of crazy positions is fun, but seeing how difficult body repairs are done is fun and educational. I did my share of bodywork when I was young,(before you were born, Robbie), but I never got to put anything on a frame machine, or did anything like the high quality collision repair I see here. The attention to detail, and work ethic is commendable, and I think rare these days. I wish all of you guys the best, and keep the great vids coming!
I love how Robby still gets a kick out of a job well done after all these years of doing this. You could just tell by the way he opened and closed that front door after it was lined up that it gave him immense satisfaction. Two types of jobs are never forgotten...a really bad job and a really good job, we know what list Robby is on. Keep up the good work young man (I can say that because I'm waaay older)😉
It's a good thing that you adjusted the door to fit; that is what separates you from the hacks and why your channel is so compelling. Thanks for the great family friendly content and your attention to detail (integrity)!
Got to visit the Robby Laytons shop today. Met Dinner and Hillbilly. Robby was in the paint booth. Fun to see the Nugget and Mischief Maker in the flesh. Can't believe all the projects you guys have going on. Everyone needs to be more careful and not beat up their rides so much. :)
Matt's Off Road Recovery brought me here, and I'm glad they did! This channel is a great combination of informative and entertaining... Thanks for the great content, Robby!
It's great to see your channel has exploded with subs. Many of us really don't have a lot of interest in body work, but y'all certainly make it interesting. And I've learned I have more interest in body work than I thought I did. *Happy birthday Ryker.*
We have a joke in our industry about a rumored employee interviewing elsewhere. Translating it to your industry, we would joke that Hillbilly had "an appointment with Dr. Maaco or Dr. Earl Scheib'. Great content as always. We need a 'Ryker Cam' shout out! 🤣
I was having a shit day. Then I remembered its Wednesday and saw this! Then onto matts and Paul's videos. 🙏Thanks editor for uploading them one after the other
Good to see Hillbilly back to work, I know I missed him. Just an awesome video Robby, you still amaze me and I was a welder and fabricator over my working years.
The reason you do all this extra work is because your name is on every single piece of work and on the building. Imagine other body shop, they will just do half ass work and get it out. The passion you have for that work is great. Keep up the great work..
Love the way you make something bad look so simple to fix. I admire the pride you take in your work, wished more people did. To many in our society want to do just enough to get by or to get the job done knowing that later somebody will have to fix it again.
Robby I know you and your crew will get Mischief Maker done on time you guys are the best for a reason. I love watching you weld especially how when it is done it doesn't look like it has been welded. Keep up the great work
Came here for the Nugget...stayed for the impeccable work that you all do. I come from a long line of "garage mechanics", and have always lived by the rule of not taking my vehicles to get work done if I'm able to do it myself, because NOBODY cares about quality work on my vehicles more than me. Thanks for proving me wrong - professionals can be perfectionists too.
What makes a great channel is only partly the content -- it's the likeability of the "cast," whether it's one guy or a whole crew. If the people aren't likeable/relatable, even the best content won't save it. But guys like you, your crew, Matt, his crew, etc are so likeable that most of us would enjoy watching you mow the lawn.
Wow! Robbie, you are so great at this! Holly is going to be blown away. Hill Billy glad you are feeling better and back at it. Can't wait to see this jeep put back together and see the Nugget all painted!! Good video, good job! Blessings!
Why do we expect anything other than perfect from Robbie and the crew? What's not to love? And late-nite pizza with the crew and the family, outstanding!
Happy birthday to Ryker! Impressed with your work and idealism! I found a motto some years ago that discribes what you're preaches: "The Bitterness Of Poor Quality Remains Long After The Sweetness Of Low Price Is Forgotten"...😉👍🤘
I am sure the lady pays you well, to keep her ride is in top shape. And you guys enjoying yourselves while working, allows you to enjoy each day of work. You (should) always love what you are called to do in this life.
Was never really interested in body work etc... but after watching your channel, fabrats and musclerod I really enjoy the bodywork/fabrication process. Makes sense since my favorite tool is a hammer.
Nice to see someone actually adjust the doors my Jeep had a side impact and think either something is screwed up or they never adjusted my passenger door as it’s gap on the top is not right.
Dudes! Now that Hillbilly is back the team is firing on all cylinders! Great respect for you guys. You all know a lot. You’re like a diamond ring in a plain box. Really enjoy watching. Glad I subscribed. 😊
Love you're videos. I can't believe how you take the time to do it right when you know it's a rock crawler and going to get banged up first day. And for your age your talent is amazing. Keep up the great work.

When I started working many decades ago I bought myself a set of SK tools, wrenches, sockets etc. They are not as classy looking as snapon but they have held up better than I have. That tool set would still do a good days work long after I have lost the ability to do the same. Cheers from Canada. ~ulrich

Just like in the movies. She can wreck it, and roll it 45 times and have it look perfect in the BFG tent at the next event ! Amazing work guys. Too nice for a RockBouncer
Robby how about a shirt: Robby Layton Nation….”Slapping your ride back into shape” 👋! Great episode, really puts into perspective the difficult and tedious work that goes in to bringing these damaged vehicles back! 👍👍👍

I have never seen , or ever heard of a body shop doing such thorough work!
Robby how about a shirt: Robby Layton Nation….”Slapping your ride back into shape” 👋! Great episode, really puts into perspective the difficult and tedious work that goes in to bringing these damaged vehicles back! 👍👍👍
