What was your journey? What clues did you have? A couple years ago I finally found a song that I hadn't heard since 2006 that kept tantalizing me with it's opening guitar hook based on harmonics..
@@ozymandias1758 I remember playing the demo version of Armored Core 4 back when I was 6 which only let you play the first chapter. Mr. Kota Hoshino for real has this weird mastery over nostalgic yet dreadful music that weirdly soothes the vibe, and it's perfectly incorporated into a mecha game lmao, hopefully he returns when From decides to do AC6
Leonhardt, the cavalry has arrived. Yes I know that quote is from normal mode and all that but to me that was that scene in perfection. This battle isn't one where you are fighting until some point passes, this isn't you being thrown against an army to kill, this isn't you fighting solo. These are your comrades who you are coming to help, they have fought for so long against elites but they need you now. This time you have backup in fighting these NEXTs. You are not alone for once. And makes the start of the hardmode level with the first thing you find out is those comrades are dead even more striking
I don't know if you're on here any more but this comment brought my memories up like a speeding truck. After coming back on a hard run and reaching this mission I had no clue what to expect, but then I launched. I saw I was too late, and the veterans who resisted and hoped I'd help them now lay dead in smoldering wreckage. I don't think I've fought as hard in any game as in that one mission, desperately firing on all cylinders to avenge the people I failed.

Yup it also plays during the fight against the rank 1 Pilot Berlioz in Marche Au Supplice one of the last missions. On hard mode your entire team is wiped out when you get there and you face off against 4 ACs on 1 against rank 1 Supplice rank 12 Rough Cut rank 15 Red Cap and rank 21 Hilarious
They were both pretty good: AC4 had a more classical/dramatic feel to their music, while ACfA had more techno/electronic, fast-paced tunes. I agree that Grid Room was awesome though.
I mean, I've never played Armored Core, (Well, I've played the first mission of AC3 via PPSSPP, at least,) but I knew about it beforehand thanks to Daemon X Machina (if anyone remembers that game.) Why I'm here specifically is because of this video where someone put Sonic Frontiers music over AC4. Someone mentioned what originally played on said mission (that being this song,) so I thought I'd give it another listen, since I forgot what it sounded like.
@@mackenziepenny1335Contact with You, Steel Haze (both versions), Rough & Decent, Verification, a lot of the arena songs are good, but really understated. I get your point and agree that previous AC games had much better soundtracks overall, but AC6 is no slouch either.
@Squiddy0912 not saying they're bad, but only one of those can I hear in my head and only after you mentioned it, steel haze. Granted tge earlier soundtracks were a bit quirkier; but apex in circle, 9, artificial sky, silent line's intro (brain fart on if it was just silent line or another title), shining, even the various garage themes....those pop in my head with warning sometimes. Especially with nexus there are so many good tracks. Ac6 they tried doing more of a score than the traditional soundtrack which doesn't sound bad, but usually those rarely stick out as memorable pieces. Even when in movies. At best you might get one good memorable track.
Due to a variety of publishers, getting the rights back to do a full remaster is unlikely. PS1 games emulate flawlessly, PS2 games MOSTLY work now on PCSX2, PSP editions of AC3, ACSL, and ACLR emulate flawlessly, and RPCS3 is good enough to run 4/4A reasonably well now. That's your best option, unfortunately. You'll need a mid-tier PC for RPCS3 and PCSX2, but PPSSPP runs on toasters.
