Yes, this is the poppiest song. Unlucky Morpheus has such varieties. "Want to Live" is a metal core song that only Shiren screams from the beginning to the end. Fuki doesn’t even sing. On the other hand “Amaryllis" is extremely poppy. If you picked "The Black Death Mansion Murders" from the same album, it sounds so brutal and completely different. These guys have so much talent and can do anything musically. They are an amazing live band as well. 🤘

I'm crossing my fingers that one of the other bands on Japanese week is one of the newer J-Metal bands like SAISEIGA. They have been killing it for 2 years now and Regan I have to say has proven to be one the most versatile vocalists in the J-Metal scene. The band is great, as it seems to be par for the course for J-Metal bands but Regan as a vocalists has really grabbed my attention. If I were to introduce someone to SAISEIGA I'd recommend starting out with their song JUMBLE. It's been over 10 years and it's so great to see that the J-Metal scene is still growing with new up and coming bands,

Spoiler, it isn't as I've never heard of Saisenga. I will look them up.

The poppiness is definitely something fans of Fuki's past project, Light Bringer are familiar with and enjoy. Unlucky Morpheus has quite varied influences, so it attracts an array of fans. It's interesting how Fuki has brought in more and more elements from Light Bringer, though. I've often wondered whether fans who jumped onboard for Black Pentagram are into it.

It is "Golden Week" in Japan, so good timing.

Japan Week ! Thank you senpai Hedgy. I've found that on just about any Japanese 'metal' or hard-rock album there's at least one and frequently more tracks that sound 'poppy' or like the theme song to an anime. This is true of the Mary's Blood self-titled album that I got recently and certainly 'Judgment Day' by Lovebites and Band-Maid's 'Unleash'. I think it stems from that trend in Japanese music to try to include a little something for everyone, so if granny Akiko accidently hears 'Be Myself' by Mary's Blood, or 'Umbrella', she might think "...Oh that's not too bad !" These days, whenever I buy a Japanese band's cd, I kind of expect it. Cheers Senpai (Guvna)

It sounds a bit like some songs from Light Bringer, one of Fuki's other projects. For example the song "Tales of Promise".

Well, thank you for introducing me to Unlucky Morpheus a long time ago. For this: Guess I miss the death/growling part. Still they are awesome musicians.

Me "Oh so you think you don't like metal ! Sit down and watch Cadaver/Revadac." Often works.

Hi! Do you plan to review any other Ne Obliviscaris songs in the future?

I don't really plan anything. It is very likely I will, but there are so many bands releasing things every day.

One never quite knows what to expect with Japanese bands. I'm not sure I've ever heard anything by Unlucky Morpheus but I've seen their name around. Might have heard a song, might not. This, visually, felt like stepping into the Final Fantasy franchise and musically I think it'd do great in the Eurovisions! That's not a bad thing since I really do think the ESC needs more diversity in music!

Very happy metal with sweet poppy influences. On the other hand very tight rythm guitar and drums. Should be the Japanese contribution of the Eurovision songcontest, oh wait... Anyway I would give them a good chance to win.

Seeing that that great Eroupean country of Australia is in the Eurovision songcontest, I think they have a great chance of winning. Saying that I hope Germany win it ruclips.net/video/Y12_YMs9kCQ/видео.html

Definitely a catchy pop vibe to this. Tbh if I just heard this one song from them I'd just dismiss them as another of that sort of band, didn't seem special by any stretch

The "evolution" album is a J-rock album, with songs ranging from hard rock to more pop rock, and Amaryllis is the poppiest track on the album. They were going to release another album at the same time as "evolution", which would have been the counter balance to "evolution" by being very heavy metal, but it was not ready. They did release a MV from the album as that was ready to go. [Official Video] Shiren from Unlucky Morpheus - 「want to LIVE」ruclips.net/video/qXPUpsnrxcA/видео.html
Why did they release a J-rock album? Because they could 🤣
I think Amaryllis was the answer to the comments about them only being able to play one style, and to people that say they do not like the way Fuki sings with all the vibrato.
