Yes, save it, get a new tank and filler neck and get it running. Of course you should fit a temporary fuel supply just to test that there are no other expensive issues with the ignition system. No point in restoring the car but it is worth saving and getting another few years our of it.

Im afraid digging in to it and stuff brake cause of the rust and turning in to a money pit. But you got a good point.
