I was told when they were new that there were American TV commercials for Monster in My Pocket, but I never saw any, although I had hoped to. They were something I simply discovered in the toy aisle and became interested in when I saw the monsters of mythology, since I was into mythology long before horror.
I don't remember any commercials in my area either. The only kind of ad I saw was in the grocery stores for the cereal premiums.
My experience in beginning collecting them was pretty much the same. Except that I had a mix of horror and mythology together as a kid :)
I remember seeing one in North Carolina and wondering why the selling point was, "They're squishy."
omg I remember watching this as a child. Talk about something I would have assumed was lost media by now!
Did the announcer really say, "Great Beast, Gremlin, Sebek?" I didn't see any series 2 monsters.
Sebek must have been fashionably late to the shoot and nobody noticed. Because I did not see him either.
