Driving On WA SR-101 South In 1982 (Hoquiam, Aberdeen)

Back in 1982, The Washington State Department of Transportation drove South on SR-101 and recorded video to document the highway. This was part of a project that photographed/videotaped the states highways every couple of years. This video now resides at The Washington State Archives who were kind enough to share it.

Love seeing these earlier videos from the ‘80s. I wonder where 15-year-old Kurt Cobain was when this was filmed. I know at some point he was shuffling between relatives in Monte, Aberdeen, and Hoquiam.

Kurt was living with his grand father Leland in Montesano in the early 80's on South 4th.
