You have to know who Paul Daniels was to get that joke... Paul Daniels was a staple of late 70s and early 80s family friendly light entertainment. He was a slightly balding ginger magician who wasn't very tall, from opp north, and who married his glamourous assistant Debbie McGee. He would pop up for years advertising his magic kits at Woolworths and the like. There was a spoof chatshow host called Mrs Merton who during an interview she asked Paul's wife, the lovely Debbie McGee, "So what attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels."
Irony, when mat and Martin mentioned Eastenders and what was happening in it , it is a long running soap opera that Samantha Janus ( Mandy) has been a cast member of.
What happened in Eastenders? Well Mandy (actress Sam Janus / Womack) would go on to play the character of Ronnie Mitchell (a main family in the show) in the soap Eastenders for about three or four years.
@@bxkid7 Yeah that particular video looks like the best one to check out. It does explain some of the storylines for people who haven't seen the show before. You might want to check out a brief Google/Wikipedia explanation of the show beforehand to give you a little context.
Thanks for reacting to this, it's so underrated! My favourite episode is yet to come, I cry with laughter every time I watch it! I don't know if this has been suggested before, but have you considered reacting to Red Dwarf?
There's a good video that would be a great way to get to see Samantha Janus, there's a youtube clip of a TV show the cast done, the video is called 'Eastenders : Back To Ours - Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell' where her and her on screen sister are watching some of their characters biggest moments and talking about it. This episode was hilarious, Martin is definitely not cut out to be a teacher 😅 ....and I agree with you about Mandy....she's basically a loveable slut 🤣...she *is* very complicated in this episode as well....maybe she was freaking out because she genuinely *did* have feelings for a change? I suppose we'll see, if she's still with this one, or onto another guy by next episode 😂 Thanks Kid 🤗💛

Do you remember when Samantha J Anus released a single for Eurovision? I think it was her first sort of public thing. I'd guess around early 1990s.

The guy playing Martins boss was a teacher at my school
who decided to quit and become an actor.
