I'm in the same boat - also if we used a GPU, mined ETH, and then got paid out in Doge/LTC we'd already be making less. Since GPUs can't really compete with ASICs for the Scrypt Algo, it's kinda cool to have this as a first ASIC w/ low wattage to just keep around!
@@KimchiKenzo yeah with my gpu i only made like 8 doge a day and i just think its cool to have a mini asic to learn about asics and the fact that you have a chance of getting a cool doge decal on the side makes me wanna get one more. Bought one for 699 USDC from Goldshell's website, more comparable to a lower end 3000 series card as it closes the gap for profit per day. Chances are, if you have this miner and are mining doge/LTC, you won't be selling that crypto anytime soon until it went up in value. Overall, it's a good starter ASIC for people that do not possess the circuitry required to run the more 'beefy' ASICs. Also, where it's more power efficient than most ASICs, you can keep this in an occupied room without the noise that comes from most ASICs. While the cons potentially may still outweigh the pros in profit, it's certainly not a terrible unit at the cost of MSRP.
For a home miner it is not too bad of an investment. A little expensive, but isnt everything right now. I like that it is smaller and way less noisy so it wont get you kicked out of house like other Asics 😀. Plus 250 watts is not that much heat so it can be placed anywhere pretty much. I think we will see a lot more of these mini miners comming out.
I played both sides of the fence on this one. Bought three right off the bat, sold them when the market was hot. Made a pretty good profit. Then bought five more to mine with. My total out of pocket for five is going to be around 600.
If you order from goldshell its $699 without power cord. At 2 bucks a day it would take a year to get your 700 back. Also Litecoin and doge a safer bet after Eth is PoS. I would still buy the L3+ over this but if noise is a factor...this is your miner

You can buy an ASUS laptop with 3060 (90W) for about the same price (US$1,350). The 3060 can do 42MHz for ETH @ 90W. Its profitability is slightly higher than this ASIC, it consumes less power, and its resell value is much much higher.
