All the negative comments, theres a big difference between renovating a house for yourself/clients and renovating for the purpose of making interesting RUclips videos! The room by room approach makes good videos with a nice final reveal shot.
Negative work gets Negative comments.
Someone is going to live in that house though, and if you’re going to do a job you might as well do it right
Watching this guy take 3 steps forward to take 2 steps back later is becoming a game to me with this renovation
I was thinking the same thing lol
I really thought you were gonna put in a massive sliding door but then you closed it up to be a 6ft door. I think that was a missed opportunity! I installed an 8ft patio door and absolutely love the difference it made. So much more light comes in!
Working for door company and seeing that massive opening, I was so excited to see what door he'd use. to hear him say he'd be using a 60-inch door! It really upset me.. it's not even close to 6 feet.. he could have such a nice big patio door, even double door..
Fun fact all exterior door units come in at 81⅝ stock
Well it's a flip house. Why would you spend like another thousand for a door?
@@saulgoodman2018 for the views man!
It's wild how simple you make all of this look! Thanks again for another awesome video.
You should run power from the receptacle next to the door to a switch box and add outdoor sconces
Why do you do everything backwards??
Looks amazing. Keep it up! All the haters keep hating but also keep watching
not haters just people looking for a good laugh
Can't wait for the next video where he has to rip out all the new trim because it's not compatible with new windows
Interesting…shouldn’t he have done the windows first then the trim? Kinda backwards
Yup. Depth will be different if you want to do it right with flanged windows
I was just about to say that, also maybe paint the walls before throwing in the trim.
That's only the inside trim. he could install from outside, but technically only be half secured.
He is a bit of a moron.
Thanks for the shoutout for our HOROW T05! Keep up the awesome work! Happy flushing! 🚽
Won’t you have to rip out all that trim when you replace the windows?
I came here to ask this as well. Never heard of someone trimming out a window that isn’t installed.
YEP.
He's going to use remodel windows that will install flush to interior trim but the outside flashing/trim detail suffers
@@HangovnaRemodel windows will still sit in further then what he did here. It will all have to be ripped out.
@@evictioncarpentry2628He loves doing it. He ripped out perfectly good exterior trim that he already painted black… could have careful detached and reused at least some of it… nope he just broke it in half. 😂😂
Wow what a transformation! Nice work.
If you are replacing windows from those single pane metal frame ones you should look into utility rebates from either the electric company or gas company depending on how the house is heated(gas furnace vs electric). They will usually have some rebate to go to double pane windows.
Been really enjoying this series.
Been watching since the beginning this man has turned this whole house around can’t wait for the end product keep up the good work I feel like I’m building it with ya
You should add another bathroom somewhere having a single bathroom nowadays isn’t gonna cut it
I only live with one person and he's always in the bathroom when i really need to go.
@@christinahaythorne3633 I agree you need at least another half bath in a house
Not to mention when guests come they have to use your main bathroom, which I don't prefer
Has he 100% confirmed that he isn't adding a bathroom to the primary bedroom?
@@Deaanl1 the bathroom he just finished opens to the main bedroom and the hallway
The difference between the beginning and end of your videos is always so satisfying!
Looks great. Always giving great ideas. 👍🏽
Notice the weeds growing through the patio already?
That system he used is literally $13 a sq.ft.
I noticed that as well.
I knew that system sucks.
Don’t think it’s due to the system, has more to do with the fact that he didn’t put any weed blocker layer :/
House looks great
I picked up that 360 paint sprayer and really like it. I've found it won't eat through paint so quickly if you flip that switch on the top to "Low".
Looking great! That looked like a smooth going project
Personally, I think that you should have added 2 sidelights on either side of the slider. It would have added additional natural light to the space and saved you the expense, time and trouble of replacing/repairing the exterior.
Im anxiously awaiting to see what you're going to do with that big gap that leads to the "basement".
Great job!!!!!
Brilliant work love it well done to you.
Barry (ENG)
Love your work brother hey from Australia 👍
Someone needs to tell this guy the building process ie let's side the entire house then change the windows also let's trim out the inside of the old windows just to rip it out when I put the new windows in talk about spending money twice maybe three times
me thinks there is no planning or thought behind much his "renos", but you have to give him an A for getting er done. Planning and following proper procedures is just a time drain!!!
I cannot imagine the crazy amount overspray he got all over that new kitchen and fireplace.
and that black laundry nook
With a decent sprayer, the mist just turns to dust unless it's directly sprayed on. I was pretty surprised when I painted my house. Plus with a narrow tip that doesn't spray fast, the fan and over spray is minimal
@@dadlife8289Don't be lazy. Sheet off your room.
I was thinking the same thing😭😭
The house already looks 100 times better. Can't wait for the final results!
Wow first time seeing a ryobi tracksaw,GOD BLESS
Great job sliding door
My brother and I just installed the exact same door in my house except my house is 110 years old 😂 love the content!
So, probably gonna feel dumb later on, after finshing up watching this video, but one thing's been on my mind;
Was all of these modifications planned early on, like, before you did the fasade?
If you're going to redo the entrance here and windows (heard you mention them just now), and you had to remoove a window in the kitchen, if I recall correctly, wouldn't it have been a time (or possibly money) saver to do the fasade last?
Lookin great man! 😄👌 Doors are something that is tricky the first times but when you get the hang of it you feel so dumb for spending hours adjusting them before 😂
Can’t wait!
Lol at the jack vs king stud pondering. Im curious too, maybe its a cripple?
normally you do trim after the new windows hope your don't have to do it again
Paint makes a big difference! But so does trim, new doors and so will the new windows. Question, the ceiling is quite low, was it possible in the beginning of demolition to knock down the ceilings and raise them up or is that how the house was designed? I’m wondering if instead of keeping the attic, bust through the drywall and allow the ceilings to be a statement or if you could go back and redo. It’s too late now and it’s also dependent on the roof and supports
You must be awesome, I would have waited to case in the widows after I get the new windows. Did you add wood in the bottom of those panel doors? After you cut the bottoms off?
Love the toilet! Would have at least put on a 1/2" flange extension so it's above the tile to mitigate wax ring deterioration leading to leaks.
Saludos desde Argentina ❤
Nice troll company hat ;) love the transformation thus far man!
Love this toilet, looks much better that what we found in France with geberit toilet
It's starting to come together
Would have been a good place for French doors
Been following this from the start and what a transformation! Well done ! 🇳🇿
isn't there an old saying something like you can put lipstick on a pig?
Nothing about this renovation other than the garage structure has been good. This house is a problem and some future resident is going to have to fix the problems he's hiding in the walls.
wait this ad is lowkey the best horow knows their audience 😅 i want one now!!
shouldve put the floors in before the trim on the doors and closets
Awesome video. You’re doing an amazing job. Love your work. I wanted to ask what paint sprayer would you recommend for a DIYer? Also in your experience, have you ever had to back roll after using an airless paint sprayer?
Two videos!? In less than 2 weeks? holy crap!
Did you close off the bottom of the doors with wood after you shortened them? If you did, you edited that part out.
The chanel name should be Mr. Backwards
Exactly what I’ve always wanted. A toilet bowl with a light in it so I can inspect what I left in it!
Absolutely!! We need to know what it looks like, it might be important one day to be able to give that description. 👍🏽
I still don’t understand why you did the siding and outside trim before the windows. So much wasted work and material.
I want that toilet.
Get a Toto. They're the gold standard. Not this thing that belongs on temu.
Holy smokes that Ryobi framing gun is massive 🤯
Is the living room window bottom trim (ledge portion) corner cutout the same size as in the other rooms?
Reminder: Make the downstairs area a finished basement and add a full bathroom with a tub so you can have at least 2 bathrooms in this house with one having a shower and the other having a tub. And the finished basement should add extra storage for towels and other stuff as well.
It's a crawlspace. He'd have to hire an excavation team.
I really like your videos, how is rhr Ryobi framing gun ?GOD BLESS
No waterproofing on the frame?
Where did you purchase the doors you installed?
Did you plug the bottom of the interior doors? Is that needed for structural integrity?
is that just mdf for the window sills?
What about the patch work to the siding, just like the bathroom it seems like your doing things out of order, Are you working faster then the misses design changes?
Please show us how you finished the outside around the sliding door!
He didn't. It's waiting for new siding.
That's what she said 😂😂 7:44
Dude was hyped on massage mode
So do you regret doing all of that exterior siding work so early?
should have back rolled everything you sprayed.. Would make the finish better and not all clumpy from you spray a little more in one area.
its funny how much taste can differ from place to place. door+window trim is something i barely see when visiting a grandma at home (living in central europe)
I live in the US and love the minimalism of no trim.
Hey did you know your new windows are thicker and you will have to cut back the jamb/liner
He's not going to have to cut back. He's going to have to completely rip out his work and use new materials.
the windows were a waste of money. But if the ceilings are so low why not redo them so you have somewhat vaulted ceilings as you don't have a second floor? Also did you put something in the bottom of those doors after cutting off the bottoms? If not those doors will deteriorate quickly.
I doubt he's got the ability to do that. He's not very good at this.
Is that type of window and door trim normal in the US? Cause it’s so wide and the top trim overshoots the sides (OCD). In Australia, we have thinner more decorative trim for doors and winders and skirting which I think looks nicer IMO.
It used to be called a craftsman style that would have a bit more detail to it, but now it's for hacks that don't know how to trim or finish. Lol
Are you ordering windows that will fit what you already have so that all this nice work won't go to waste?
Why did you close half of the opening instead of installing fixed glass panels; that defeats the purpose!
Lmao. Window jambs are all gonna have to be ripped out again when you put new windows in.
And you left exposed MDF edges on the top window trim... you should be putting a return edge on those at minimum. Lol
Trimming the doors to 79", I hope you were able to cover the bottom of the doors you cutout. 10:36
Are you going to sell the house after you are done
Need to adda. 1/2 bath at minimum
He should have made a list, of the things he have to do, and put them in order.
You don't put on new siding, and trim, then windows.
He's doing things backwards.
Bro your stuff looks really good on camera. I’m going to be optimistic and say I bet it looks good in person but everything looks good on camera, it’s the details I am sure you are getting right. And I have never made RUclips content, I know that every video needs to be polished and have a nice finish to it to be appealing. But nothing you do is efficient but I feel like you know that. You do so much finish work that is going way to ahead of yourself. Again I get it for the video. But in a real remodel you would never want to do it that way. You did the exterior so long ago and you’re talking about windows and doing trim before new windows and painting trim when you still have baseboard to do. You’ve painted entire rooms with a sprayer with tons of finish work. I am sure there was so much over spray. Either way I get why you do it but damn lol. Looking good tho!
Bro are you sure it's not the cloud of paint that you're standing in causing the tears? 😂 It's coming together nice and the order in which you worked on stuff made sense, but I'm worried about all the overspray getting on your stonework and new glass.
Everything finished is going to be covered in an inch of dust and paint. Just look how hazy the camera gets when painting, better believe that’s all over all the finished cabinets.
Hands down my favorite RUclips channel and RUclipsr. #lifegoals
Umm, you should check out some other folks then. He's kind of an idiot. I watch every week to see how much worse it can get.
Why would anyone trim out an old window you are going to replace...
Really dumb. Watch the depth of the new windows to the flange be different. It's hilarious
He's not smart.
I'm literally speechless right now. I told you the new windows weren't going to fit. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m so confused. How is the overspray, not getting on everything?!?
Oh don't worry it is. Absolute nightmare
💯@@hg2blackcat411
It was. He knows just enough to be a problem and nothing more.
I know it seems like the right choice to not tape if you are going to replace the windows but I always do. You never know if you end up deciding to keep one or allocating budget somewhere else. Also the stone and fixtures and kitchen cabinets. Risky business there.
Hopefully that patio door was sealed underneath
Knowing him, probably not.
why that toilet wall not painted tho
I need to know why I only see negative comments in this guy's videos.... Yet you guys keep coming back to watch him?! It puzzles me 🤔
Should’ve painted doors black would’ve gave it more character
I don't get the fascination everyone has with black paint. We live in a colorful world and everyone wants their home black and white.
Nice ketchup stain. 😂
Should have replaced the windows before he put up the trim.
Why do people love to use white paint for everything?
You are really, really limiting your resale value by not adding a second bathroom. A house that size with only one bathroom is crazy. You seriously need to reconsider that decision to only go with one bathroom!! Great progress however.
Facts. I really hope he sees my comments and considers finishing the basement and adding a bathroom down there.
I don't think he's good enough at this to do a second bathroom.
Nothing to do with the build, but what brand of shirt is that light grey shirt you are wearing? They look like nice shirts that fit correctly.
Cuts. you can see the logo in some settings, they are expensive.
@@larrybowers8323 thank you!!! Do you know if the sizes run true? Last thing I want to do is order a shirt and it be a shmedium! lol
@@michaelbradley3907 sorry I haven't ordered from them
@@michaelbradley3907 not sure if first reply went through, sorry I haven't ordered from them so I don't know.
Nice, clean toilet and a nasty remote control
I don’t think this comment will get a reply, but when it comes to the bathroom, why not do an addon for the back of the house for the master bedroom to get a new bathroom?
I don't think he's talented enough to do an addition.
Just a word of caution with those bidet toilets, i just had to remove one of them in order to install a cabinet. This toilet had only been in use for about 3 weeks, the customer had not made any complaints about it, but there were brown stains splattered all over the bottom of the seat and top of the ring of the bowl and running down the side of the outside of the bowl. Gross. There are 3 of these toilets in this particular home and all 3 had the same issue. How creepy is it that there is poo water splattered all over. Another problem is that the mounting bolts are next to impossible to get to. You need to remove the control panel (which includes the pee and poo splattered front panel) to gain access to the area where you can attempt to unfasten and then re fasten the toilet. No thanks.
Just remembered, the brand of toilet is Cosvalve
Also there is a sensor near the floor which flushes the toilet when you step near it. I gave up counting how many times it flushed while i was putting on cabinet handles, towel bars and switch covers.
I don't know why I just noticed, but I kinda miss the intro. Either way, the house is coming along nicely.
"Nicely" is a strong word.
You know what i realised about this guy.... he doesn't not water proof membrame in his construction. Its just going to suffer from water damage again...
