I think this is the most in-depth tutorial done on pigment powders. I now have new ideas and it's time to pull out all those powders and use them! Thank you so much Natalie.
This was the best video ever! So many ways to use pigment powders! I did the heat embossing after I mixed the clear super fine embossing powder with some espresso colored pigment powder. It was beautiful! Thank you so much!
Thanks for all the great ideas & new-to-me techniques! It's amazing how much you can do with pigment powders. I liked the card you made, too. TFS -Sarah
That was an awesome video, will have to go back and watch it again, so many tips and tricks my brain is whirling 😂 Love so many of the techniques you used and the card is gorgeous. Thanks Natalie for all your wonderful ideas, appreciated. x
One of the best videos I've seen! LOADS of options! I so appreciate the time and effort you put into this (not to mention the chore of having to clean all those stencils and foam pads!). Thank you VERY much! 🩷🩷🩷👍👍👍
Unbelievable how many options you came up with! That raspberry pigment powder looked soooo light when you mixed it in with your medium, then it really shone through when you stenciling it. What a pleasant surprise. I have plenty of Mod Podge with no plans for it…. Hmmmm. 🤔 Oh. But I don’t think I have any pigment powders. I’ll have to double check, then have some fun if I do! Thank you for taking the time to be so creative and for sharing, Natalie!
A very thorough and absolutely amazing video Natalie. Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge and experience. I now have to deal with the frustration of all my 'stuff' being packed away for a huge house move across the country and then a trip back to UK to visit family. I won't be crafting for at least 3 months, so will be avidly looking forward to your videos for some vicarious pleasures! 🤩😍🌻
Thanks, Denise! That does sound frustrating! Could you put a little crafting-on-the-go bag together, so you've got something to play with. Recently, I've been staying with my mum a couple of days a week, and I've been taking alcohol markers with me plus a few drawing pens and some paper. It's given me some crafty relief when I can't be in my craft room. x
I really enjoyed watching you do all these backgrounds and the card look great too although I would have embossed the sentiment in the raspberry to bring it forward again, but that’s probably why my cards don’t look as good as yours. 👏
I see you do a lot of stuff right on top of your waffle flower mat, QUESTION: How do you clean IT all up and keep it sticky properties!! LOVE WATCHING WHAT YOU DO,! THANKS FOR ALL THE TIPS! I’ve got a boatload of powders I never use - but I will now!
You're so welcome. Glad you like the ideas. The mat is made from photopolymer, just like clear stamps, so it is naturally sticky. To clean it, I just wipe it over with a babywipe. Or spritz it with water and wipe it with a microfibre cloth. Every few days, I was it in warm soapy water in the sink. :)
I have never used pigment powders. Which ones would you recommend Natalie ? I am saving all the videos in this series and will try them all when I get the powder. A new craft !!!!!
Hi Jane. So far, I've used Nuvo Shimmer Powders, Brushos, IndigoBlu Lucious Powders, Hunkydory Prism Powders and Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder. The only ones I wouldn't buy again are the Prism Powders as they are so pigmented that they stain everything! Plus they don't contain much binder so they brush off once dry. My favourite are the Lucious powders as they are very shimmery and work well with everything. :)
Thank you! These are the circle dies I use: amzn.eu/d/cJmRbf0, amzn.eu/d/9dK3Bld and www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1692068839/circles-panel-metal-cutting-die-for-card

Hi, I’m having trouble finding the cosmic shimmer pixie powder, can I ask where you got yours please xx
I bought mine from Hobbycraft.
I’m really enjoying your pigment powders series. For powders tha have a binder in them, do you need to mix in Gum Arabic when you are mixing with whatever medium you use?
Thanks! If you have pigments that already have a binder in them, you don't need to add gum arabic at all.
I’m sorry I meant to type pigments without a binder in them. Would I still need to add Gum Arabic or is the medium good enough
I don't think so. Things like clear gesso, acrylic paint, modeling paste etc will hold the pigment without adding binder. x
