I got a P500 for like 50 bucks without a GPU online, then upgraded it for like 100 bucks and works well for me. E.g. I got the E5-2697v3 for just over 10 bucks from ebay, amazing deal for 14 cores.
Just got a p520 for Christmas. I'm pairing it with a gtx 980ti. Gen 4 nvme wd black 770. Works pretty well, haven't gamed yet tho. Definitely expecting it to be a toasty build 🔥

The 2060 Super is a weird pairing for a CPU that old, but it seemed to work well enough.
only for old games . if you have a budget of max 1500 is way better to buy a console with game pass.

I got a $300 PC from my local OfferUp that has an MSI Z370-A PRO Motherboard, i7 8700k, GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a Corsair H100i 240mm AIO cooler, and a Kediers C570 open air case with 7 RGB fans.

I’ve litterally been looking for a 500$ budget pc on Amazon I was litterally looking 4 one earlier today omg
Don’t get a prebuilt for that price
Definitely build something semi decent for that price
Build your own it really makes you appreciate it way more you can get a better pc for cheaper
It's still a 4 core 8 thread system. Save 200 more bucks and get an up to date PC.
U will get faster ram a better bios with a upgrade path that pc has no path
Impressive part about the halo gameplay, is that the map you played on is a forge map and those run a little slower than a dev map. If you had got a dev map, it probably would’ve got you up to around the 110fps mark
One thing that gets overlooked every time in a budget build. October 14, 2025 is the end of life for windows 10. So most of these builds won't meet the Windows 11 cpu requirements.
You can easily bypass the need for the BIOS security feature W11 wants.
I'm running one of those machines with Intel Xeon E5-2699 v3 18 Core, 64GB RAM, RTX 2070.

Bought a system from amazon like 10 years ago and put the guts into a nice case and have been using it ever since then with a couple upgrades like a better cpu and more ram and saved alot of money.
The P510 is the way to go. You can use the E5 v4 chips. The E5 v3's aren't bad but it's worth the extra few dollars to get the 14nm chips. The P520's are really nice to but cpu's/memory is significantly more expensive. I'm using a P520 right now.
the problem wit this build is that i needs a 8 core xeon from the 2000 series and it will be good enough for anything these days that 4 core is giving a lot of stuttering as it cant deal with all the stuff anymore
Its still a capable beast, but the P510 and best of all the P520 would have been the better pairing.

I got that exact mouse and keyboard with an HP office gaming machine I got during the GPU shortage cus it had a 2060 for $500. It’s a good machine. But anyway I decided to check them out today and the mouse is total junk, the keyboard is alright but RGB is static and sucks.
Ya know for bout 300$ i managed a ryzen 5 5500, gtx 1060 superclocked (so I at least have 6gb vram) 16gb 3000mhz ram, and a 500w power boi to pwer this sff.
@Toasty bros I want a good gaming pc to play a game called “stumble guys” I need windows 11 Budget 500$, 16gigs ram, and at least 100fps and I also need NO studdering AT ALL, is this a good pc for me? (Plz see what fps I will get on stumble guys on steam on this pc) pls respond and send me your affiliate link to this pc if you have one if you don’t just send me a normal link pls
This pc has a strong gpu so you can turn the graphics up higher without adding stutter. However, the old xeon processor in this pc might not have strong enough performance to keep your game running stutter free. This can be a bigger problem because turning the graphics settings lower will not help this type of stutter.
I appreciate that you are working within a budget but for prebuilts you can get a wildly better pc if you can step up to $600-$700.
This xeon based pc is ten years old and might not be fully supported by windows 11.
Id suggest getting a modern platform like 12th gen intel to avoid all stuttering
@@evers6214 ok I’ll save up for a 700$ one instead

If it were an E5-1650 V4, it would have been slightly better, but maybe it wouldn't have been possible on a P500.

hey guys thanks for the xmas "toasty slice" lol
E5-1620 v3 is a little lackluster. You can get a bunch of better v3 and v4 CPUs for a song and dance. The P510 is certainly better, and the P520 being much better (with arguably worse CPUs and cache).
any advice from commentors welcome, bought the dreaded Dell G500 gaming pc during covid when I got back into gaming after a decade and dell wasn't too bad in 08, but long story short want to upgrade from the 1650S but to do so would have tro change out motherboard and psu so i'm just at should I build one over a year [due to cost] or wait and get a prebuilt when it just can't cut it anymore. I'm able to pull of Jedi Survivor on lowest setting, I don't know man. hard to decide. Hell I have a steam deck, mostly for the massive amo unt of metroidvanias I love to play, and some AAA games perform better on it than my pc with i510400K and 1650S. wild [optimization is crazy]
I too saw the 8 ram slots . What would the ram speed be in this system and would the ram be ECC or not . I would like it to be a back up machine but not for gaming as I'm not one . I like a machine with the storage to use it for my off line backup while I work on other computers . I enjoy the videos and keep them coming ...

Is this better than the 500$ asus or the 600$ hp victus 15l? Can someone tell
Thank you toasty bros you never fail me
I highly doubt such an old 4 core 8 thread CPU will keep up with that 2060 Super for too long. Nvidia's driver tends to be more CPU intensive than equivalent AMD cards.
Yeah check the link and it's unavailable
Ryzen CPUs and a320 motherboards are dirt cheap these days. You'd get better cpu performance and lower power draw for cheaper. Just pair it with a second hand rx5700 or 2060super, both of which you can also get from aliexpress as 'new' cards sold by chinese refurbishers.
I wish toasty bros would do a comparison with a custom 500$ pc vs this prebuilt.

Halo Infinite ran way better on this system than Fortnite did, and I'm guessing that's because the GPU usage was higher and took more load off of the CPU. Otherwise, it stuttered worse than I did before starting speech therapy.
Unreal Engine 5 is super heavy on CPU load, a weak cpu setup will suffer in fortnite.

If you want a pc that is as good as toast... then this video is good for you. 500 for a game pc is like buying a used car that has not a engine inside. its useless.
Have you seen their other video with a p520, they put a rx5700 in it and it preformed great at 1440 p. Total build cost was less than 300 I believe.
@@FNClipss856 what games did they play ? and fps ? a decent performance for 1440 gaming @60fps needs at least a 3060.
@@itsmenoname2247 so the 5700 is slightly worse than the 3060, but at 1440p in halo infinite and cod warzone they got 80-100 fps, and in cyberpunk and hogwarts legacy at medium fsr they averaged 70 fps. Original build cost was $360 but they had to switch from a 5700xt to the 5700 because the 5700xt had problems. Keep in mind the 5700xt out performs the 3060. So with the 5700xt it would have gotten much better fps.
