The tiger would certainly not occupy the same niche as Smilodon, in fact no living predator can occupy that niche. But it could be a large predator that could bring benefits with its introduction, just have more prey and space available for them, I like the idea!
There posslty to create small rewilding project for American tigers ( captives tigers ) or siberian tiger in north america area like alaska like in south africa. there are about 13-20 tigers in the wild in South Africa in a reserve called the Tiger Canyon
I mean we have documentations of Siberian Tiger interactions with grey wolves and brown bears in Siberia. It’s not really a theory how they’ll interact more or less we don’t how they’ll interact with the North American prey base
I really love these videos about rewilding, I'm not sure about tigers being introduced to North America is a clever idea simply because of the possibility that tigers would probably decimate native predator populations. Tigers kill leopards in India, so they would kill cougars on occasion. They would surpress wolf numbers as they do in Russia and Siberia. Black bears and young grizzly bears would be killed by tigers as tigers kill sloth bears in Asia.
@arkprice79 grizzly bear are bigger from tigers and powerful Coguars can claim on tree and they can to try to defend themselves against tigers ( Coguars are bigger from leopards) Jaguars have powerful bite can cost damage and injuries to tigers and jaguars live in coalitions of male like lions and cheetah, and the females live in coalitions too which consists of mothers and sisters and cubs . Tigers can replace the smalidon role in ecosystem
@@joshuahernandez-th6ov The problem is that there are - There are an estimated 10,000 to 25,000 tigers living in captivity in the U.S., including zoos, private facilities, and roadside attractions and their number is only increasing, there is a possibility to train the cubs and the young to survive in the wild. All big cats have an instinct to survive and hunt. Eventually the Siberian tiger would have reached North America, but a climate change or a disaster that happened 10,000 years ago that caused the connection between the continents of North America and Asia to sink beneath the water.
Although I agree siberian tigers would thrive in the taiga, boreal and parkland regions of north america..encountering cougars and jaguars can be dangerous enough, are you sure this is the big cat you'd want to come across hiking or a family camping trip? Things to consider.
I say absolutely, you can introduce them to Maine what she needs them more than anywhere, because of the wild horses, or breeding and there's no one to keep the numbers in check, because there's nothing big enough to bring down a horse, and so they are extremely overfeeding, it was the same thing that happened and yellowstone, when they had to go to canada, and bring back wolves to yellowstone, because of the elk, and moose was overeating, because black bears, and the grizzly bears, do not big game like that, and they graze, they eat bugs, and most of their protein comes from bugs and fishing, and there's really nothing that could kill a bison, besides the tough Winters, and they are used to living in those conditions, the one that lived in Russia, would be perfect for yellow stones in winters, and I think the Bengal tiger, would be able to get used to the harsh Winters as well, in Maine, so the Siberian tigers, they should go to Yellowstone might be just a bit bigger, and as far as people, our American lions, panthers, that live in mountains, and yellowstone, as far as the ones in yellowstone, since tigers don't live in prides, just like the American panther, so they would naturally stay away from each other, tigers can climb trees, and Panthers can, they will mostly in the mountains in the Cascades of Washington state, idaho, california, and the rockies, another place that the desert tiger would be great for, or even the jagger, it's already an American cat, and it would be perfect for the wildlife and the grand canyon, as well as helping with the hog situation in florida, they took American Panthers to florida, to help the wild called situation, but hogs our heart to bring down, they're just correct and panther open not, and that would spell death for it, specialty if it has Cubs that would be a mess, slow it didn't really work out, because they just started hunting and bringing down dears, then when males try to migrate to get their own territory, they were crossing i-75 North to georgia, and dying on the highway, it became a thing once upon A time, where they would see a dead panther male on the highway, try and that's the only way it could cross into Georgia where they have them, and it will be one dead a month, witches absolutely catastrophic, you don't know how many cups, that fat male panther, could have fathers, helping with the population of wild hogs, in Georgia and florida, but you wouldn't need to build them away getting there safely🤷♂️, but I say yes👍👍👍 👏👏👏👏👏
But not all is lost for tigers, If Asia stops this Chinese tradition medicine practice with tiger bones and making corridors, and future Rewilding of tigers in some parts of Asia and Russia, tigers will survive.
Tigers only belong in aisa not in us. Protecting their's natural habitat and protecting them from trophy hunters are more important rather than introducing them to a country like us where sport hunting is legal.
Unfortunately, There’s no fossil evidence of tigers living in North America what’s so ever. By the way, the saber tooth cats is not related to tigers. The saber tooth cats belongs to a different type of cat family different from tigers and lions. I’m support lions, cheetahs and jaguars reintroduction in North America because those animals used to live in North America thousands of years ago, but tigers not so much. I think you should investigate a little more.

@@RewildingthefutureSadly,there’s no fossil evidence of Siberia tigers living in Alaska or any part of North America. But I do support of lions, jaguars and cheetah reintroduction in North America because their used to to live before thousands of years ago.
@@joshuahernandez-th6ov There are several sightings of a big cat in Alaska (it can be mountain lions) , The Russians settled Alaska in 1784 in Alaska and in 1909 they left . They had big cats like tigers and lions with them as pet , it's hard to know if they survived . but today there are people who raise tigers and lions in Alaska as pets and probably released some or escaped into the wild.
@joshuahernandez-th6ov I think that tigers should not be released into the wild in North America but they are in north america in huge numbers.there are about 10,000 to 25,000 tigers living in captivity in the U.S. which is more than there are in the wild in Asia. I think bringing the American Jagger back would be a better idea, and it would in a fats and the American panther situation, that we have now, but no matter what they will have to be in the wild where people don't live, something definitely has to be done about the wild horses in maine, it is a real problem, the same reason that they brought wolves back to yellowstone, because of the elf in mooses, overgrazing time of the point they were finding the carcasses too many, for predators to consume, because not every predator will consume, carrion, me that is beyond spoiled and full of maggots and all of that, the American jagger, also belongs so the Grand canyon, and the southwestern mountains of arizona, and rockies, and we have absolutely none, I really think American Jaggers will be better, then tigers, especially tigers from russia, they are just too big, the Siberian tiger, is 700 lbs
It would be neat to see them here but no. Instead If you were going to do something like that it would be better to rewild America with it's own historical natural predators that have been pushed to the west and in isolated pockets of wilderness that creates a species bottleneck....relocate mountain lions from the west to where they roamed historically. Same with wolves and black bears. Bring more jaguars into their historical range as well if you were to do anything. Give the land back to the animals that lived there in the past. That won't happen, but better to give the native predators a chance before introducing a foreign species that would be better off repopulating their own historical range as well.
My next video is about bringing lions back to North America

Australia would be better option due to space available. However area the size of national parks would need to be fenced as they are in Africa
