Did you know MDF Eastern & southern Africa is collaborating with WWF-Kenya and DANIDA Market Development Partnership to accelerate the transition to a plastic circular economy in Coastal Kenya?
As part of the Waste to Value project, our challenge runs for 18 months from January 2023 to June 2024, with 7 enterprises selected to participate. We aim to address business obstacles in plastic circularity and achieve the following goals:
Increase the volumes of plastic collected, sorted, and processed by strengthening the capacity of plastic recycling companies to scale.
Promote decent jobs and improve income opportunities for women, men, and especially youth.
Create a collaborative ecosystem among value chain players in plastic waste management.
Prepare businesses to scale.
By offering organizational capacity assessments, enterprise support services, access to quality knowledge, training on responsible business conduct, and benchmarking with industry experts, we are ensuring that these selected enterprises have the necessary tools to succeed.
