oh that is amazing! Do you know how those seedlings turned out? Was it just a lockii cross? And YES, you requested this! Well, it only took me what, half a year to fulfill that? XD That is very speedy.
cutting may give more strength to the seed pod's development. You could but the cut shoots in the pot where you have spaces and water it through. fill out the pot and re-pot in the spring instead. I love your videos, so enjoyable.
hahaha :D It looks MUCH worse on camera screen, when I transferred the video it looked okay. But yeah, backlit situations are not ideal typically :D Or so they say.
I'm loving these frequent videos, seeing your gorgeous plants is so therapeutic for me and gives me the motivation to tame some of the ones that have just gone bananas in my growtent 🙈 Your lockii is just A BOSS, I love it
WOW! The Lockii is huge! Thought…I have my Multiflora on a bamboo ladder trellis and since it growth pattern is kinda uneven, it makes it appear more bushy and put together. I used three bamboo stakes and used twine to “ladder” it together then I can clip it where I need it. Or you can use a very large hoop and put twine across it. 🤷🏻♀️ I’m anxious to see the outcome of your Lockii!! 😊 You look like you’re feeling better!
I am feeling a bit better! :) But my throat is still a bit sore :) Ladder trellis might not be a bad idea. I was temporarly thinking about that too, but we don't have very tall ones, at least not locally.
LMAO eyes up here!! You have no idea how many times I've wanted to say that. Like it's not totally obvious where the eyes are looking lmao! K so at the beginning of the video you wanted to know what we thought of the lockii but now at the end you don't want to hear it lol. So I'm gonna just tell you what I think and pray you forgive me. I really like how it's trellised now. For a minute there I was wondering how to gently suggest you try something else lol. Anyways, it's your plant so your choice, but my opinion is to cut. I don't know if I like it bent over like that and I feel like cutting above the seed pod is a good call. But it doesn't matter what I like. If you like it, then keep it the way it is. Overall the trellising is gorgeous. I think it might even look a bit tidier with the trimming at the top. But it's hard to say for sure cause maybe the wire would be too visible. Or maybe not cause it's small and green. But a little prune might encourage some peduncle growth lower down or more branching. You never know. Either way, your plant, your choice. 🙂 Anyways, I was extremely impressed with the trellis making and sorting it all out. I might have just given up half way through and put it back. Much love as always, R
That Hoya Lockii is huuge 😮 Im always dreading doing anything with the larger plants except watering them, they stay on the “to-do list the longest… 😅 but its always such a relief to have it over and done with I hope tackling this one gave you that relief as well 😊 Always up for more of your vids Recently rewatched some old ones
Oh I must put out more videos if you need to go back and watch the old ones. Those are forbidden! YES, it feels so good to tackle a task that is being put off for such a long time and to get these larger Hoya in order. I have plenty that need retrellising and I am absolutely terrified that I will break them to bits if I start, but eventually it will need to be done, so maybe I shold just get it over with :D
When you dont succeed with plan A , go to plan B . I think you have to bend the center of the wire around a 6” pipe to get a nice smooth top curve of hoop ?
Also you can clip one long branch down , but you will want to not touch the branch with the pod and put the stake back in straight up the middle to support the branch to keep the pod developing
@@BasiePlants oh I see what you are saying , it branches and hangs , not vines and climbs ? I was thinking the plant itself would want to keep all hormones and nourishment going into that branch if it was still reaching upwards for the light ?
Also be out of the way , in the center of the pit and not get knocked when showering or watering . Feed that one bush , why not ? Just to help nourish the pod ?
I totally understand liking plants getting bigger, but also not liking it. My multiflora outgrew the lights, is trying to outgrow a window, and whines that it doesn’t get enough water 🙄
YESSSS MY HOYA LOCKII VIDEO IS FINALLY HERE I LOVE YOU!!!!
also Miro my seed pod took 7 months before it opened LOL so maybe you just need to wait it out?
OMG I can't wait that looooong!!! I will tell my lockii no more than 7 weeks :D

I’m glad to see you on this very cold and blustery day in Toronto. Are you feeling better?
It is cold here toooo! Too cold! But probably warm compared to Toronto 😂 I am feeling a bit better!
I am so envious of your Lockii. Mine is small and she does not grow. I love how you retrellissed het.

If I cut it, I would cut the top, not the sides :)

Top cuttings.
Your better on hoyas,👍 and understand them.
I like it on the trellis better than before. But i think it would look better if the longer stems were cut a bit. Just my opinion.
I think so too. I am glad more people think it should be cut :D
so many videos so close !! thank you. i feel spoiled🏵🏵🏵
Hahah :D Until I overdo it and people start unsubscribing because there are too many videos 😂
If it makes you feel any better, I have no idea what back lit means or looks like. 😝 As long as I can see you and your plants, I’m good.

Oh I have plants that have gone bananas in my grow tent too. That is going to be a special episode :D

I think your lochii looks gorgeous on that trellis!
Gorgeous is a bit too strong but thanks haha :D
YAY to another video so soon!!!🎉🪴🎉
Need a large lockii like yours, its stunning!! Also loving the frequent uploading for December🌸
I am glad you do! :D I am afraid people will say it is too much! Oh, everyone needs a HUGE lockii!
@@BasiePlantsNo such thing as too much Miro😄

I like it!! 😍 You did a great job 👏👏
Yay! Thanks
OK shock you look good clean shaven I like it but it shocked me lol
I think you should cut it and make a bushy plant 🪴
I agree 👌
Yaaaas, I love chopping! :D
Kept looking at you to see why you looked different, LOL Finally hit me, you shaved!!!! Looking good on you.

Is there any proof that it needs to stay up & supported? Since in nature it would grow as an epiphytic bush and wouldn't really get much support.
Probbly! But I don't have a pipe :D

❤ I love the balloon trellis! It looks more compact and less splayed out. So you think the thick leaf Hoya have more issues with flat mites?
I remember someone persistantly fighting against melting his pots to stabilize his trellises... who was that again..? 🤔😉
I have no clue who that might be. I don't know him for sure! 😂
Do you remove dying leaves on Hoyas! Or leave to fall by themselves?
Let’s call it mood lighting 😂
Ah see, I didn’t think of that 😆
Thank you for the video!
Always good to sleep on a change you' ve made before making up your mind is it good or bad, I think.
