Wasting time in Harrenhal is the major complaint plus the needless extra secret meetings Alicent and Rhaenerya as well. Timeline wise there was only 1 more battle they could've snuck in but they're probably gonna open season 3 with it
For me, when Daemon touched the tree and saw the story… I felt sad for him. The Targaeryan storyline is so tragic… and there’s nothing any of them could’ve done about it. They escaped destruction, they were doomed to destroy and be destroyed😢
I think what put the thought in Alicent’s head to leave kings landing to the woods and eventually try to leave after asking Rhaenyra in the finale is that conversation she had with her brother about Daeron. She realized that it may very well be the city and its ’rat like people’ that are infecting her and her children and it may well save them and their minds if they just get a chance to leave. It’s been hinting at it all season with the “unclean” scene with the Maester, the riot and the fish being thrown at her, the palace guards only making it worse. Literally her only ‘safe space’ at the sept was tarnished and taken away from her. Her going out into the forest was her realization that time away from court is actually healing and a sort of outdoor worship hall in a way. Idk, just thought the daeron conversation is a great scene to tie with her final decision.
That cut was dangerous af!!!!! Like compared to a cheez-it cardboard box….a glass cut at the wrist CAN BE DEADLY! Saying that is boring is insulting. I’m so sorry you experienced that accident and I hope you heal well and that you never experience anything like that again.
Zach I am 100% in support of you and your wrist because I had a similar incident with a lab beaker as I was putting it away from the dish washer at work. I needed tendon surgery for mine 😢😅
My only complaint about this episode is that they wasted way too much time with the Triarchy scenes. That should have been done in a previous episode and not the finale. I looked at the time remaining and was like let’s move onto the main story. Otherwise it was a great episode although it didn’t feel like a finale. This finale will be better judged after the next seasons I think.

HBO is really going the wrong way with the structuring of only 8, felt like this season was cut short. I would have even preferred a cliff hanger start to a battle or something, instead we got a 3 minute montage as an ad for 2 years later.
I'm with you, my lady. I LOVED the Damon scenes. I also absolutely loved the last scene of the season. But I think it's bc it reminds me of the Quintet in West Side Story & One Day More in Les Mis. Both songs are basically montages of people prepping for their battle and I’m a sucker for that kind of stuff! 😅I'm interested to know the age difference between the people who like these scenes & the pace of the show and those who don't like it. That may not matter but I wonder if the preferences are based on age bc of what we grew up with. Hmmmm… Fun time with you guys once again. I enjoyed going on this journey with yall! ❤

That last conversation between Rhaenyra and Alicent was a master class in acting. It had all the drama and intensity of the massive dragon battles some people seem to have been expecting for the finale.

I loved Daemon's plot! It was the most entertaining plot this season, and having jt be in only 1/2 episodes wouldve been a waste of the idea! Harrenhall could be its own show!
I agree! I’ve seen so many people hate it, but it needed to be built up. Daemon never put much belief in visions, he needed to be convinced, and that was going to take time.

It was a good episode but not a great finale. This was like if season eight of Game of Thrones was split in half, and the first half ended with the episode before the battle of Winterfell.
Season 2 definitely was not better than season 1. Yes they had a lot of time but they wasted it. I was cheering for a lot of the extra people when they showed up. And I hated that they decided the give the Lannister more screen than they ever had before. I was sitting there like why TF is he on screen again. They could have thrown that in an earlier episode.
