- Genshin Impact TCG... Never tried it, and never thought I'd actually try it. But there's currently an event requiring me to do so, with a limited-time bow as a reward that I know I'll regret missing. So this will be my first time ever playing the TCG.
And since I didn't really want to suffer alone, I thought I'd turn it into a video so you could all suffer with me! I know, so thoughtful of me.

Java, you can invite the raiden shogun to a match and if you win you get her card.

@@Calebvee You need a Match Invitation Letter and then you can challenge basically any Character (that has a Genius Invokation TCG Character Card of them) at the invitation board in The Cat's Tail. If you win against them, you get their Character Card.

Just to say, you can skip the Itto fight. Also, if you don't play the TCG minigame, you can still R5 the weapon, and you'll just lose some ascension materials

3 Press "invite character"
4 Select Raiden Shogun
5 Beat her

kinda surprised java didn't wait till the last few hours to speedrun this event in agony, character development tbh
duuude him discarding the paimon card infuriates me... ITS THE BEST CARD IN THE GAME

Both Paimon cards are so good. One gives essentially 4 omni dice in exchange for 3 normal dice, and the other converts normal dice into Omni dice for no cost.

Tbh when I saw the cards I was just like 'oh.. we're not taking revenge here'
But then I just remembered our opponent was Itto so it went smoothly

If you ever feel useless, remember that Java still doesn´t know there´s a raiden shogun card available..
I never did the quest because I thought they forced you to play against a real person, and when I finally built up the courage to do it, it turns out it's against an NPC...
Now I'm kinda obsessed with this little card game
That’s so funny, because I was very disappointed when I realized that I would be playing against a npc and not other players 🙈
I am generally fond of every aspect of this game. TCG, Abyss, Events, you name it. But Teapot is the one I least put my time on, since I let some Furnishing done and get Gifts for the Primo.
Even teapot I spent days doing Minecraft and building towns lmao, ig that's why I feel burnt out I've done everything that could be done

i love genius invokation tbh and the paimon card you tried to throw away is rly good you replace 2 of your dice with omni dice

I’d say there is two reasons:
First one is that it’s almost completely separated from overall genshin experience. You can’t get cards for exploration, you don’t get cards as quest rewards. Almost all NPC players are concentrated in big numbers in cities. It feels forced.
Second one is game itself. It’s kind of fun, but when you’re tired from Genshin’s usual rng bullshin, having a game mod that has not usual for TCG one layer of rng but two - with cards and dices - it can be frustrating. Like, in a vacuum it’s a good idea, but specifically in context of genshin thatks but no thanks
I just personally find that type of card games pretty boring and I’m bad at them
i mean if you find TCG fun then some people might not, it's the same logic here
another thing is how the characters mention the game, unlike for example how we refer to genshin impact as just "genshin", they say the entire "Genius Invokation TCG" phrase almost all the time
imagine all your family, friends, even strangers saying the whole phrase every time they talk to you, that is 11 syllables wasted 😵
that is one of the reasons i usually avoid playing TCG
Ik this video is all about TCG, but it's so unfair how he got Thundering Pulse early, while I've gone 2 times into pity and got Yae's catalyst 💀

This update made me much more invested in TCG ngl. Considering they added my two best girls, Amber & Ei, and my main, Xiao. The second the servers went live after maintenance I beelined to Mondstadt to get my hands on Amber & Ei lmao
there is a raiden card, you just need to defeat her in tcg by going to the billboard in catstail and selecting invite charater, scrolling down and inviting raiden
I love tcgggg it's so underrated, also there is indeed a raiden shougun card
You also get 600 freemos for leveling up
And it’s so incredibly busted. Probably the best character card in the game.

He really didn't do TCG... But tbf the only reason I did it was for the primogems and after getting to lvl 10 in the first week I quit it.
I just love the fact that the event forces you to complete the tutorial for TCG, but to unlock the best rewards(which is the weapon, it's refinement material and a crown) you don't need to play TCG even once lmao. Heck I bet you can finish the event quests too if you care about them without TCG(tho not sure, I just grabbed the rewards and dipped)
I tried the event and the collei one on serious showdown was quite literally impossible for me so I gave up after like 5 losses in a row

@@glam4663 i did that but I suppose it mostly came down to skill issue. And the fact that 90 percent of the dice i rolled where unusable

@@StanleyG23 too much, which is probably why i lost. I usually only got one usable die
@@chuhej2780 I would personally recommend trying to use Yae Miko, Cryo Cicin Mage and Sucrose. Yae Miko's and Cryo Cicin Mage's Elemental Skills have great synergy, so try and get them out and use them as fast as possible. You should use Sucrose's Elemental Skill to make sure Collei isn't the active character since she's the most dangerous.

U kinda have the same reaction I do when it comes to TCG, I waited until 2 weeks to even start the event yesterday so I can also get the welcome back rewards for the first time ever. Just to have enough primos for Alhaitham, I did the first story event then did all the events and got everything I wanted from it. Only part I skipped was the TCG one and played once to get the Xiao card then quit TCG just to finish the story now I'm done with the event forever. Just waiting for the Vagabond event ngl, loved that event.

If we wanted to play a card game we would be playing a card game. We picked up an action rpg game to play an action rpg game. Simple
So I really really hated the extended tutorial. But I DO like the game quite a lot. I like that the event isn't against real people and just AI as well
ima be honest i barely ever play it, and i'm not really interested in it... but then again it's a java video and i am obligated to watch anything he uploads. it's a part of the vow i took when i subscribed. (yeah i bet you didn't read the terms of sevice before subscribing did you?)

Java winning beating Itto on the first day of playing TCG is hilarious. So many people were complaining about him being too tough with his stupid deck. I managed a win as well.
TCG’s fine. Not everyone’s cup of tea, sure, and I’d rather have a few other things, but it’s fine. Fun to play once in a while :)

I'm with ya, Java. This event was pain for me, even in spite of the card game playing being kept to the minimum. I started to try and throw games I had to participate in for primos, but still managed to win some...Then there's Ayaka... she still managed to infuriate me despite not wanting to care about winning...
I quite enjoy the TCG
Also, if you do a few games you CAN get raiden, she is new as well

Most ppl would play tcg if they just add primogems to the mix it doesn't have to be to much, 100 primos per week and tcg players will duplicate. I like the game but if there isn't any rewards i dont feel too motivated
I think there is a part where they let you use the raiden card. I think it’s in Inazuma or Sumeru
I did the tutorial quest in the patch it was out but I totally understand the feeling for those who didn't and had to sit through it, on top of all the story in this event. And you don't even get to play your own deck in this event at all.
What was the point of Quick Start anyway if they don't allow certain prerequisite quest to be skipped? Mondstadt to Sumeru archon quest is referenced, even if a player never complete those, but not the fact the Traveller knows how to play the card game without the tutorial quest?
Every single event he does, he has like 0 reading comprehension... maybe he'd be less clueless about everything if he actually read what to do lol

You can indeed get a Raiden Shogun card, if you play just a LiTtLe bit MoRe... TCG is not that bad tho, once you have a powerful deck, it is very enjoyable! So if you have time, you could experience some boom-shaka-laka

Did you know the cutscene at the end can be skipped. I was playing and my phone died and when I relogged to play it I could skip it XD
i can't remember exactly wich one, but one of the event matches let's you use a trial Raiden Shogun card
you actually can get a raiden shogun card, they added cards for all the archons this update
you can actually use a raiden shogun in the tcg part of the event in the inazuma (3rd) battle

Just wanted to say that when you do the third part of the Zero Hour Invokation (Inazuma) you get to use the Raiden Shogun card for free ;)
I know that this is a tcg video but my luck is so weird because I always lose 50/50 but I get the five star I want in the next ten pull so am I lucky or unlucky

The way you're supposed to get the Raiden shogun card is that you just invite her to a game, beat her (not that hard), and then you get the card _with constelations_ for free, no limited time event required!

The event was only a huge promotion in actual text of the story. Whoever we meet tells us lit the same thing: “I love playing Genius Invocation TCG. That helps to make new friends and experience the joy of battling with them!”
And by that story was quite boring, but the actual mini games were okay. Mostly same as always but with a card challenge this time surely.
Still I kinda like to kill time playing these cards so I was okay with it but I prefer events with lore and a cool story behind.
Btw you could skip playing with Itto just by picking another option. And actually 11:52 you can get Raiden card literally by playing with her at the Cats Tail
