I had never heard of this Zero character until now. This is great! I can now queue up that guy interspersed with some V Shred videos to get totally proficient in both fitness and firearms with nothing but a resistance band, a pull-up bar, and a few burpees.
The way I see Zeros acrobatics is: He's constantly trying to figure out how to shoot while weird shit is happening, and then using the largest dictionary he can find to explain things. As an IPSC shooter I can say that shooting strong hand while carrying a Jerry Can is quite different from shooting strong hand with the weak pressed against my chest, and training for it is very helpful.

What Ben and other serious shooters / instructors are doing reminds me of when MMA hit the martial arts scene. A lot of the bullshito and theatrics that thrived in the dark just can’t compete when you put it head to head with the real deal. Glad to see the change happening.
From what I can tell, Stoeger puts out more FREE content on RUclips than most other instructors. Who else posts similar numbers of their entire courses on line? Kim, Park, and Lane have some out there. I don’t know Stoeger personally, so I cannot comment on his personality. However, of the many videos I’ve watched I don’t see an ass; maybe he like to stir the pot, but most of the time insightful content comes out of it.

It’s funny that he keeps typing a novel of a comment replying to you and then ends it with some kind of “now run back to….” like it’s some kind of mic drop 😂
Never heard of Zero. The reason I follow your videos is because they are helpful. Ben, your version of teaching is shoot this way, not this way, here's why. No fuss or pumping of egos, just here is what you need without any fluff. I also appreciate you will point out there other ways of doing things and that many top shooters will do something that works for them and the pros and cons of that approach.
I appreciate you calling these guys out to be honest. The stuff some of these “entertainers” do isn’t conductive but rather dangerous. Shooting is practice, the things that can’t be taught are fight or flight.
I work way too hard for my money. When I invest in my training, it’s much more than monetary. Time off work, time away from family, time away from other responsibilities. I won’t wade into the drama aspect, as I am still a work in progress with respect to my abilities. However, your callouts have gave me pause to booking classes with some of these individuals that are the equivalent to 1800’s snake oil salesmen. You have saved me money, time, and frustration with videos like this.
I've been watching a couple of Ben's videos, i like them for the reason that Ben explains things well in calm laid back type of way, it feels like a buddy talking to me and explaining things and that keeps me watching, on top of the A1 info he provides
Years ago I remember one of my friends wanted to take a pistol course at a place Zero taught at. We ended up not ever doing it. I've learned a lot from watching videos on this channel. Recently I put together a Glock 19 with rds bc of listening to Ben's rants and watching his classes.
Master Ken has at least competed before against his peers. In a joke influencer match that included Brandon Herrera and Larry Vickers, but I still count it.
Thanks Ben! Took a course with you in Rocky Mountain House more than a few years ago now. I’m still “Not Hot Fire” but I’m trying. As time goes on I’ve bought into your message and techniques more and more based on my experience as an instructor. I see how your methods would significantly help those at my agency if this was what our program consisted of. However we persist on our path which I believe is a shame. Personally I choose to open my mind to your system and now that I’m messing with red dots I find these lessons even more relevant. I’m essentially rewriting almost everything I thought I knew about shooting which I actually find enjoyable not scary. Anyways just wanted to give you a shout after much viewing lately. As for zero I’m happy to say I saw his smoke and mirrors for what it was years ago and forgot he existed to be honest. Keep up the good work in your own unique way. I appreciated the edge and straight forward approach on the range.
I’ve always liked your straight shooting (pun intended) delivery. When I wanted to train, I didn’t was flowers and BS. Your training was absolutely spot on, and most importantly, you could explain why. This was years ago, for some RUclips jockey to assume you don’t have years of instructing under your belt simply points out his absolute ignorance.
I hope there is a chance for the Ben and Zero IG live. Zero just seems to hide behind his resume to justify what he posts online instead of actually putting his thinking cap on and wondering what on Earth the resistance band transition is supposed to do other than be a marketing gimmick. I appreciate all of the stuff you put out Ben, it helps me see not just through the gimmicks but also how to apply the fundamentals.
I'm just glad people are finally calling out old school "experts" like Ayoob and Hackathorn. To me those are the worst kind of what I call mistrainers. They appear to be an authority (mainly because they declared themselves so in the pre internet era when you could get away with that). Yet when you hear them and see them, its clear they aren't actually skilled and don't have much to teach beyond the very basics.
That was my IG comment. It’s become very clear based on real-life experience and competitive success that much of the “old guard” in gunwriting/firearms training were full of shit. No shot timers, rangefinders, or body cam footage. At best, it’s a mix of fiction, fish tales, and glorifying some dudes from the early-20th century who were legitimately murderers.
@John.VanSwearingen glad there's more than a few of us who see them that way. It's incredibly frustrating trying to tackle the legions of fair weather, casual range shooters who think these guys are "legends" and see their bad advice as gospel. It's especially vexing when they declare themselves experts on "use of force" and yet never once have had to use force.
@@John.VanSwearingenthe other thing is we have learned a LOT in the last 30-40 years, the tech we have like laser gait analysis and body dynamics have allowed for huge changes in technique. The world we are in isn't a world of a 9lb wood stocked Carbine and a 3lb single stack 45 8rd handgun as the pinnacle of firearms tech. Hackathorn and Ayoob haven't evolved in their methodology because as two very good shooters who are retired from comp shooting and using a firearm professionally they don't really have to. The problem is, they don't realise they are out of date, they haven't evolved, they haven't learned how to best take advantage of the new tech and the knowledge we have gained. The fact people are challenging established thought and pushing boundaries like Stoeger vision fukus stuff and pushing slide mount rds and flashlight carry and the changes in understanding of a good grip via frame by frame video analysis can only improve shooting generally.
@@jediknight1294 I’m not even talking about training dinosaurs, but it’s funny that you bring up Ayoob. He built a gun journalism and training career-which turned into a pseudo-legal expert witness career-off his dad being a jeweler with friends on the local police force. He combined (1) being the local competition heat (before there were any real competitions), (2) stories from LE friends, and (3) personal connections in magazine publishing into a witch’s brew that resulted books on the psychology of “deadly force.” That would absolutely not fly today. Could you imagine it? The man has never fired a gun in anger or the preservation of life. Not an academic or lawyer. Relying primarily on first, second, and third-hand anecdotes from the time before dashcams and bodycams. An expert on deadly force. Imagine having a journalism degree and your dad’s cop friends and somehow turning that into a decades-long gunwriting, training, and expert witness career all about the “hows” and “whys” of shooting people. Sure, you have dudes today who train defensive/LE shooting without being practically experienced, but last I checked, no one is selling pseudo-academic books on violence or offering themselves up to courts as violence “experts.”
Never heard of "Zero", now I'm dying to check out this new rubber band resistance training. I can spend less time shooting, dry firing, working out, getting in shape, eating well, and get to the real secret to shooting better.
I appreciate your take on Zero and those like him. It seems to me that most of them have now been out there, spreading their nonsense, long enough for us to recognize they are full of crap. Now, when a new "instructor" comes onto the scene they may well get some initial traction but pretty soon it becomes obvious they not only do not know what they're talking about but are actively harming shooters looking to improve. That is in large part because reputable Instructors like yourself are calling them out. It's not about one system over another, one preference over another. It's about horrible advice and cringe worthy training fucking up inexperienced or novice shooters. Zero needs to live up to his name and have zero impact on the shooting and training community. Thanks Ben.
It's so often the manipulator will project the same exact things he's doing on whoever he perceives as a threat...good job Ben I think we hit a nerve 😂😂
I was checking out a youtube channel, this guy was shooting super fast and accurate on some drills, he had some instructional videos and i was seeing if there was anything valuable there. He was doing similar stuff with resistance bands, other weights etc during dry fire and for me it seemed a bit much, but i thought perhaps there's something to it. He also had some footage of himself shooting competition so i checked that out, and after watching that i decided there was absolutely zero value in the training techniques he was posting. I think they were directly contributing to the trouble he was having during the match
Yeager groupies aren't much better... remember he had a camera guy standing down range between targets during live fire training and everyone came out defending that stupid idea.
Pretty sure the bands on the pistol is about getting/training to be super stable when being grabbed or pushed. GBRS guys recomennded it as a tool for hands on by an attacker. They didn't say it was for getting faster or more accurate, as far as I remember.
I remember his little 15 mins from a few years back. He came in riiiiiiight before Instagram and whatnot became the complete cultural monolith that it is today. He found a place at the tail end of the Golden Era of the internet when being a GWOT vet meant your opinion was the gospel, nobody knew what MLOK was yet, and putting a dot on your pistol was still considered a novelty. I mean, he blew up at a time when most folks were still carrying at 5 clock in hybrid holsters. AND EVEN THEN, he was seen as just entertainment. The idea that he's supposed to have any credibility when even blue collar Americans have a PVS14, a SOLGW, and can shoot a 2 sec Bill Drill is hilarious to me. It's like when an old micro celebrity tries desperately to make a "comeback" in Hollywood; it's just sad at some point.
Your followers understand that these "special operators" shooting abilities are usually over inflated. Anyone who has actually shot competively understands how difficult what you do is to master. Average people hear "navy seal" or "green beret" then see them doing wild stuff that looks cool and assume thats what they should be doing because they dont know what they dont know. In reality those people just have really good marketing
You hit the nail on the head with projection. By calling you the names he did and making the allegations against you is an attempt to deflect attention from him. I have attempted to engage with him on his social media platforms to explain and justify his tactics but to no avail.
I feel like someone who is genuine in teaching, learning and evolving as a shooter would simply debate instead of going off the rails like a spoiled teenager like Zero did.
It takes a good level of knowledge and self awareness to be like “no, fuck this guy”. I feel bad for the people who haven’t hit that level yet and are being fed bullshit.
I don’t have a problem with someone with actual knowledge “attacking” someone like Zero who is genuinely a waste of time and harmful to listen to. We need to remember there is a difference between not as effective and irrelevant or stupid. If someone is using a technique that is not as effective as another proven technique but the person chooses to do it anyways then that is on them so let that person keep on doing whatever if they are choosing not to change. Someone like Zero needs to be treated differently in the manner of public shaming of what they do because in no realm is what they are doing relevant to anyone and like you said can actually be harmful. There is a difference between guys in the community that you may not agree with on things and guys who are a menace to the community as a whole.
You're not allowed to criticize bc he virtue signals so hard about MuH TraDiShUnUl YalYoOs. Same with palmetto you can't call their guns crap bc "deyy cayuhhr abowt 2a"
@@TheHashtagSquad2K15I don't think he teaches much of anything, he has little training snippets but AFAIK most of his work is consulting LEOs on what gear to buy for their dept. He's been called out for a few things like saying "he trains with special forces" and I think the guys in question basically said it was just a casual range trip, speeding up his videos, he tried to do a competition once and DQd for safety violations, not sure if he's gone back and done more since then, I basically treat him as just another "influencer" like reno may or whoever.
It looked like he just used a cheap resistance band. I know Sorinex makes something called the SITT (Stress Induction Tactical Trainer) Sled. I figured a man who has studied for years would be using a purpose built solution.
Instructor Zero has a video where he is holding pads and a guy is doing palm strikes and then dry fire with a cert gun, that video reminds me of the circus knife thrower who tried to kill his wife and missed. The pads are training him to miss the head, imagine shooting both sides of the target instead of the target, training to miss under stress.
Zero is the guy that the wanna be’s who don’t shoot think I’ll watch his videos and I can do that… your just sharing with us the information that u think will make us better…. We don’t want the antics and fluff just a good discussion…. Thank u 😊
His reply is full of logical fallacies. Instead of addressing your claim that what he teaches is not how world class shooters train, he deicdes to attack your character and tries to demolish your credibility. Years of study along with qualifications does not make someones claim more or less true. The results from training would dictate that. You basiclly state that his training isn't good, and his response is basically "you're broke".
I watched two of zero’s videos and determined he was a little out there. Haven’t watched him again. Also, I’m tired of every bearded tattooed “instructor” telling people they are stupid for not having a red dot and an x-300 hanging off your $3k carry gun. It’s B.S.
Ben, keep calling out these bozo instructors. They get so butt hurt because they can’t back it up like you can. I mean if anyone takes your class or just watches your instruction, hard to argue with your logic and instruction. If there was something you were doing wrong, trust me, all these wannabe’s would be calling you out in a second but the simple fact is they can’t and they know it.
Love your info and follow a lot of what you teach but I never thought about it ; do you have any formal education? Like what did you major in ? I’m currently going to school and while struggling with calculus I thought how would Ben tackle this lol . Just curious what school you went to and what you majored in . Thanks 🫡
I've never considered Mass an expert on competitive shooting. His books and videos are more geared towards those with a defensive mindset. If people are being dismissive of him, then who are they following that's as informative as him? His legal tid bits alone are beneficial to anyone not in the know.
Instructor Zero has been an obvious clown for years. His methods remind me of crossfit where they use overly exaggerated exercises that look cool to those who don't know, but the justification is just word salad if you have any level of intelligence/experience. I'm glad someone with your reach is calling out his bullshit.
You seem lacking in your kinesthetic perception, on how the delta of difference between a flat range and the real environment influence your neural information processing speed and psychological reaction time. I advise you to study at the Tactical University of Rapid Deployment, to acquire new competences related to inframuscular ballistic training.

He is desert tan tacticool era guy
9:00 time are changing for that better to add , I think Mada yub has been playing a character.
is that why they call him Zero cause he knows Zero about shooting lmfao 😂😂😂😂 you go Ben give it to him 😂😂😂😂
Never saw the guy until i searched for him on YT just now.
Scrolled through the 4 first videos.... what a clown... XD
THANK YOU!!! He has been a fraud for years I am so glad people are catching on.
I've been sharing your videos with everybody i know who genuinely want to improve performance and not just slurp down tactical larping/marketing.
Guess Yeager was right bout this guy after all.
It takes a good level of knowledge and self awareness to be like “no, fuck this guy”. I feel bad for the people who haven’t hit that level yet and are being fed bullshit.
Never even heard of him. Can't even find him on social media when I search.
probabaly a good thing
You noticed the one thing he didn’t say was that he would kick your ass at shooting. I find that very fucking interesting. 😂
Lmao, he was just arguing with me the other day… after I mentioned his “tactical turtling” lmao
You know it’s going to be a good vid when Ben’s thumbnail image is literally this 😬
Speaking of charlatans you should make a surprise appearance in Matts live tonight. Dude looks like a real treat
That is rather typical narsistic reply from zero. They are commonly projecting their own fears
James Yeager pointed this out years ago and he came back with a whole " I train SF guys" blah blah.
Criticize instructor zero on writing too much nonsense and not enough about actual shooting…proceeds to write a novel all pissy when called out
How do people feel about T.Rex Arms in light of this discussion?
Him in his personal life made me block his channel years ago.
Are you implying that Lucas doesn’t know what he’s talking about and is actually a poor shooter?
You're not allowed to criticize bc he virtue signals so hard about MuH TraDiShUnUl YalYoOs. Same with palmetto you can't call their guns crap bc "deyy cayuhhr abowt 2a"
@@rodiculous9464 that’s a very different situation than him teaching things that aren’t correct or not knowing how to shoot.
Brittney Spears invented Toxic
Didn't him and James Yeager get into a few years back
Yeah James Yeager called him on his bs years ago.
Joel Seedman of the shooting world.
If Zero only knew where you are at and who you are training literally right now, I’m pretty sure he’d retract some of that 😂
Ben should offer ZERO a free class
It looked like he just used a cheap resistance band. I know Sorinex makes something called the SITT (Stress Induction Tactical Trainer) Sled. I figured a man who has studied for years would be using a purpose built solution.
Your audio is quite compared to other videos.
Wait, you mean that magazine guy didn't really take a moose from 1000yds with a scoped 6" .357?!
Can someone please troll him on his comment with Practical Shooting Training as the book!
Thank u 😊
Zero self-identified.
What’s the most beneficial way to you for me to purchase your books ?
Thanks 🫡
I think he went the school of hard knocks
@@willr4880explains the typos in his book practical shooting 😂
I enjoy the fact that he thinks Ben should read a book on the topic… Pretty sure he has written a few books that many “reputable” shooters recommend.
Open a book?? Didn't Ben write the damn book?
Idk how I got into your videos but I think you spew out great info keep it up my guy the internet drama be crazy
You seem lacking in your kinesthetic perception, on how the delta of difference between a flat range and the real environment influence your neural information processing speed and psychological reaction time. I advise you to study at the Tactical University of Rapid Deployment, to acquire new competences related to inframuscular ballistic training.
how did he get on your radar with his goofy antics?
