I was interested in being an RO for large matches at one point. Being on a squad with Foley and listening to the interactions with him, Jake, and Troy pretty much cured me of all desire to be around any of them. Overall, I have have to say that volunteering for USPSA was one of the less fulfilling things I've ever done with my time. I'm surprised that anyone puts up with it.
Troy was at Canadian Nationals this year. I had never interacted with him before that. On the stage he was a CRO, I asked how he was doing and how is his day going. Let me tell you, he is one of the most miserable individuals I have met that week. I think he hates his life.
Next summer when I retire, I think I need to find out who all these bullys are, and Ill travel around the country going to matches, and just screw with them :)
The concern that transcends the sub-optimal behavior, is that a USPSA official feels he can order a member to take down a comment on social media. This is upping the perception that USPSA feels censorship and control of speech is appropriate for the organization.
This is a reoccurring pattern of behavior from DNROI that seems to be getting worse and worse with each incident. He needs to be fired and the position needs to become an elected one. This behavior is unacceptable, unsportsmanlike, unprofessional, and borderline disturbing.
@@OrionCorsari very true but with an increase of dues at 60% is it worth it ? We already know some, not all, Area Directors are trying to dictate the voting results. I feel this voting cycle will establish which way USPSA is heading.
It's called, "ENTITLEMENT" just because they have a title or position they feel the need to harass, intimidate, embarrass its members. USPSA needs to be completely revamp, they won't last long if actions like these continue to happen. As Americans there's a constitution, the First amendment is your right as an American to speak freely! Banning members for speaking the truth is absolute madness and ludicrous!
I was n IDPA member for several years. Watching the club "clique" cause trouble constantly drove me and a few friends of mine, out. They were rotten to our RO's constantly. This particular group would argue, make "extra" rules and just treat new members pretty poorly. A good example was when one of the "beautiful people" shot themselves in the foot during a course of fire and they covered it up by claiming his "shirt" was caught in the trigger. Anyone who commented or challenged this collective decision by "them", was castigated and/or harassed. It just was a dumpster fire. I know it's club level, but it sent a lot of folks away.
Where are all these Super GMs when it comes to these issues? Are any of them speaking up other than Ben? I'm sure if they ever came out and said enough is enough, then USPSA would change their tune.
If this is the Troy McManus from Louisiana I have lots to tell you! How did he get to the position he is in?? Because of him I quit shooting at a certain range many years ago due to some bizarre decisions made by him a long time ago. I've not seen him personally since then I've noticed his name rising through the "ranks" and each time he was in a higher position than before. I've always wondered why? He brings nothing to the table that is remarkable.
So much drama from grown men..... my club is filled with it too. Seems like a lot of these guys just want to feel popular for once in their lives so they volunteer and the "power" goes to their heads
These guys are going to have to circle the wagons. Either this kind of fuckery stuff is all made up (this guy and Derek are liars), or this kind of stuff is OK (those rules don’t apply to certain folks).
Now, I have never shot or RO 'ed at a nationals (USPSA & SCSA), I have worked with and RO 'ed Troy at Local and Sectional Matches in South Louisiana. I can honestly say I have never seen him get upset or blowup on anyone. I've always had a great experience with Troy. Now, I have heard all the stories of past and present and it make me wonder. I'm sure the stress of these large matches take a toll on a person, I'm not saying it's an excuse but I get it. I'm short tempered myself ( not as bad as I used to be) but being in this sport has taught me that getting upset over small stupid thing isn't wort it. Now I wonder why Luigi hasn't chimed in on this. I'm going to assume that since he is running for USPSA President, he is picking his battles right now. Guess I'll sit back and enjoy the Shit Show!!!
How do we go about getting rid of this guy? How completely unethical and unprofessional. I really love this sport and people like Troy are ruining it for everyone.
Mark, thank you for running one of the best matches for the #1 club in GA while mentoring hundreds of shooters.
What Mark is this?
This mark doesn’t even help reset, so it’s got to be a different one.
Which is the #1 club, out of curiosity?
Man, Ben loves the drama 😂
Seems like he actually dislikes shitty behavior.

When the boomers finally kick the bucket there will be no more ROs

This is great for IDPA membership and PCSL 1 gun!

Damn that sounds like one heck of a retirement plan.

This is called the Streisand effect
I’ve seen Troy act like a dick when he missed a mini popper on a calibration test.. 😂
Was this at A3 or does he make missing poppers at matches during cals a habit? 😂

I appreciate your efforts at the Nats. I enjoyed myself and sorry you even had to deal with it. Thank you for putting in the effort.
INAL, but I'm pretty sure Troy's behavior in the first place could constitute assault, if he was as hostile as it sounds.
Bullying a kid? Yeah, that's a no-go. Sounds like a real great guy.
Thanks for standing up. This information sure makes it hard to renew.
If you don’t renew - you can’t vote. If you don’t vote - nothing changes.

Fudds like Troy should permanently banned. This is so F’ed.
The comment you made about a 15 year old kid being scolded for not painting, is an example of why my son and I left USPSA.
Didn't Yee-Min lose his RO cert for less than this?
Ive had some asshole ROs before in 2 gun but this troy guy sounds like he takes it to the next level

Troy needs fired. The fact that he's still working for USPSA has been a problem for over 5 years
I wish I could get my money back from my life membership from like 5 years ago
Not suprised at all. Isnt this the same thing that got Mike Foley fired?

All this USPSA drama is entertaining, but doesn't bode well for the board paying any attention to Steel Challenge.
