I'm not even 8 minutes into this mix and you can't even imagine the amount of memories and feeling I have coming back. Damn some of those people aren't even on this planet anymore..
I really should listen back those albums and mixes. Whenever you think that you're in a bad or stressful place, listen to as much music as you can. And when hearing back those tunes years later, man in hindsight, those day's where great, just as there are. Try to celebrate live whenever you can guys.

I was running around illegal house parties in the late 80's, Hardcore was the last great type of house music. Everything after that is commercial crap. :P Noobs... lol

Bonkers was a big deal. A big mass release through React and it blew the sound wide open. I remember waiting outside for Virgin to open to get my copy of Bonkers 2 on day of release. It was truly exciting stuff.

When people say to me what music did I used to like I say I love me hardcore mate and the first thing they say is what that happy hardcore and I cringe and make it very clear that happy hardcore is definitely not what I mean ,, this bouncy stuff came along when the hardcore started dying and jungle was more popular and it that's point I felt a bit lost!, like you say though hes got a great energy and nice to see him happy

@@peterolley7159 I started to move away from Happy Hardcore when it started to go down the Techno route. It was all about the breakbeat Happy Hardcore for me along with Jungle & Drum & Bass.
I feel this. I may not be on par with ya on age, but dang, I lived and grew up in the hayday of happy hardcore, I MISS THIS STUFF, takes me back to happier times.
Hardcore was better 10 years earlier. By the time most of these records were out I missed them as found it all a bit samey at the time. But listening to them now they still bring back the energy and vibe from the hardcore heaven 90s. Good mix though. Great to see vinyl and proper mixing too. 👍

To me when you say happy hardcore, I think mid to late 90s. This is many years later but still has the same energy to it and I like it a lot. The old United dance stuff was awesome as well. I have some of the unmixed vinyls and often put them on my player.
I just scrolled down to comments to see if anyone had written what I was thinking.

Yep exactly old school to me was also early 90s. I also got into the freeform stuff (which is more what I consider this mix to be) late 90s and 2000s but yah... Stuff like... Forever Young, piano progression, Jimmy j and cru-l-t stuff, six days ie "six days on the run..." etc. Man those were the days haha. I still have crates of that stuff on vinyl. Another life ago haha

Exactly, if you want true happy hardcore as it really was go search…..Dougal, Slipmat, Hixxy, Vibes, Stu Allen, Brisk… .at Dreamscape, Vibalite, Helta Skelta, Uprising or Pleasuredome. Aim for around mid 90s. You'll be in heaven.

I dont remember this. This sounds like new age happyhardcore! 1994 to 1997 . But some of the tunes mid 1995 was a bit cheesy lol. Like toy town!!! Dnb for me now. Still pull out the old tunes every now again. Got into scratching and beat juggling like the cats in the 90s hey hey. Love it
