    I was undiagnosed with bipolar disorder for the first 40 years of my life, was in court several times, always behaved, even dressed smartly for my appearances. ADHD is no excuse for such behaviour.

      Yes yes yes thank you, as someone diagnosed with bpd later in life (at one point misdiagnosed with schizophrenia during a manic episode) and I hate when people use it as an excuse to behave horribly. But as you guys may know, the person with mental illness is sometimes the last to know. For example ost schizophrenics will say they are not schizophrenic if they're not on medication- that is part of their magic brain giving them inaccurate information with reality. When they are in the depths of it, impulsiveness takes over. Also she sounded a little grandiose. I thought the judge was so kind. I think she's probably seen it before. But it is so hard to bite your tongue.

She was pushing it as far as she did, because no one has ever made her have consequences for her own actions!

    • @andromedaturnbull3512

      Agreed, and were I the judge, I would have revoked her probation, sent officers to arrest her immediately and add extra time to her original 6 month sentence. It's worth noting the original charge was for domestic battery of which she was found guilty. As someone with significant mental health issues, I don't quite buy the naïve act from her and reject mental health as an excuse in this case. She seems to be an extremely unpleasant person who deserves the jail time.

    Zoom Court, brought into the norm by COVID, has been hailed as such a breakthrough. This shows the disadvantages of ZOOM Court. Can you imagine the difference if this had occurred in person? The disadvantages fall into both sides, but this illustrates the State's limitations and frustration perfectly. MOST mental health issues would NEVER lessen responsibility, much less justify such behavior. She was abusive, entitled, disrespectful, and completely without remorse or accountability. Bringing her in would not only be justified, it would be in her and the community's best interest. Almost everything wrong with some in society was shown within this clip. Values, common courtesy, accountability, and total lack of respect for not just authority, but for others at all, needs to be addressed swiftly whenever possible in these situations or it will only get worse for individuals and society. This makes me angry and sad.

    • @2eyecon
      @2eyecon Год назад

      @@babette1762 Thanks. Yep, if ya read my very first few sentences, that was my primary point for THIS video. I didn't want to go on and on even more than I did, BUT, that disrespect includes more than verbal interactions. It's the inappropriate dress, locations, smoking, getting high &/or drunk, trying to talk with inmates, eye rolling, interrupting judges and SO MUCH MORE! ZOOM does not allow for the immediate, or often even eventual addressing of these issues and problems. The computer and social media age has allowed people to feel distance between themselves and their actions or lack of action. I grew up in a time when consequences came, good or bad, with all your choices. That needs to be more evident and consistent to address this problem in ZOOM COURTS...EVERYWHERE! OK...WHEW! I feel a little better now!
