Can you please guide me in my query: I have micro discectomy of L4-L5 3 months ago. My surgeon had said that my MRI showed significant disc prolapse. I also had numbing of my left foot..
After 2 months of surgery,my tingling and numbness of left foot has increased...also pain inmy backbone around L3-L4-L5 has started.CAN ALL THESE PROBLEMS BE RECTIFIED WITH THESE EXERCISES?

That will depend on your repeat mri scan. Exercises cannot cure inadequate surgery or recurrence

Once someone has disc issues, it is important to maintain discipline throughout life. There is no limits to what u can do. It depends on your fitness and motivation levels. By operating we are bringing u to levels of normal population and not making u a superman. If u maintain good lifestyle, most of the things are possible. Sir i had minimally invasive tlif surgery on l4 l5 s1 vertebrae and i feel sciatica pain in left leg but before surgery there is less pain or pain felt after doing heavy exercises or work, sir is this normal pain , today 40 days complete ,or can i do nerve glide exercise,my neurosurgeon told me to do back extension exercises

But abhi tak spine nahin Gaya hai..
Bed sey jab bhi uththi hoon tho spine mein jakdan hothi hai.
Aur saans bahoth aathi hai..
Ab tho 1 weak sey ye halath hai k straight so nahin sakthi.
Agar straight sogayi hoon tho uth nahin sakthi..
Bahoth tension hogayi hai..sciatica pain bhi phir sey hone laga hai.
Left side so nahin pathi hoon.nerve pain hotha hai..
Left leg numb hai.
Kabhi kabhi tingling hothi hai..
Dono legs par swelling hai..
Particularly heel pey..
Before surgery the doctor convinced me very well that I'm goin to be well forever. After 5 months of surgery again the same re herniation started. 1 went back to the doctor. Now he said to go to another surgery. All the patients who are suffering from back pain try to go Ayurvedic or any alternative treatment instead of surgery. Until a 3rd surgery called fusion it's gonna continue if u did surgery. Surgeon know this. But they will not tell us this at first. Bcz surgeon not addressing the further herniation of remaining disc in the body... My life bcm more miserable after the surgery now. I lost money & and my Peace.
Talk to your operating doctor regarding your problems. The outcome of surgery depends on patient profile, type of surgery and spine MRI. Open surgeries and only discectomy have worst outcomes. Most of my patients do well and live normal life.

I returned to the Doctor, and he said I need another surgery. I asked until what? Until the 3rd fusion surgery it will continue.?
I noticed that many patients seek second opinions from other doctors. The first doctor who performed the surgery might believe that the patients are okay, which is why they don't come back. However, many doctors seem to have no idea about their patients and believe they are doing well.
The main issue in the lumbar discectomy, surgeon doesn't address the cut portion of the remaining disc inside; they only focus on the compressed disc part which they want to remove.
Anyway, I've decided to try Ayurvedic treatment now because I don't want to go through another discectomy and after finally a fusion. I have lost faith in doctors because the first surgeon assured me I would be okay for at least five years, but my life became horrible within five months.
We keep close follow up of patients and know how they are doing. I generally offer endoscopic fusion to most of my patients and rarely do discectomy. One can try all non surgical treatments as surgery is the last option. But going by what u said I think u will need fusion sooner or later. Till that time u can try everything
