There were something about Christmas specials in the 60’s & 70’s. They were so entertaining & innocent but we never realized it at the time. The Christmas special is a lost art.
Indeed, the Williams Brothers and the Osmond Brothers were the greatest voices in the music industry. Love them all. I wish they could re run those shows on televisions.
Andy Williams father discovered the Osmonds and Andy the ever obedient son put them on his show. He nurtured them and looked after them. Bless you Mr Williams. Not only handsome and multi talented but generous, charitable, kind and a great family man. RIP.
Amazing talent! It's so ironic that little Donny's joking statement became a reality. Little did they know that Donny would go out on his own and have his own show. Thank you for sharing!
"Me oh my, everybody's gay." Sorry, but that brought a chuckle. Amazing talent, though, and EVERYONE is totally nailing the tight, complex harmonies in this arrangement. Lots of talent in this group.
Toni Wilson Donny stood out from the very beginning. Not sure why tho since they all were talented and cute. Seems Donny just had that 'sonething' that drew ppl to watch him. This was a great arrangement with the 2 sets of brothers.
@@chainamarie03 Donny stuck out because the younest one always does. They have the youngest do the comedy routine and that is when everyone falls in love with the cuteness. The industry wanted to separate them. Foolishly, Donny & Marie agreed to it. In later years, Donny found out the hard way he was going to end up being left behind. They would have went on and made good rock music if Donny would have stayed with his brothers. As it turns out, the original four still play today and have done very well for themselves. Donny is the one that has had to fight to stay in the business.
@@cs-mh2dh Of the original four, only two continue to perform, Jay and Merrill. Both Alan and Wayne no longer perform due to health issues. Your point about Donny having to fight to stay in the business. He is just ending one of the most successful shows in Vegas which has run for many years. So he has had as much if not even more success than his brothers.
@@pauldg837 I am guessing you are not old enough to have lived in the 70's and 80's. Donny was not able to make it for many years. He and his brothers ended up getting back together and touring mostly Europe where they were more famous. Then Donny spent about eight years in broadway before he finally got a chance to remerge in the industry, but did not last long. What brought them back together in the early/mid 2000's was Jimmy after he bought the Andy Williams Theatre in Missouri. Then both Marie and Donny went on "Dancing with the stars", which led to their show. If Donny and Marie never did their show in the late 70's, the Osmond brothers would have held onto their careers without any gaps in the years. Even Donny has made that statement. I was a huge fan of the Osmonds and remember how it went for them. I already knew Merril, Jay are the only two still performing. Hopefully Jimmy recovers from his heart failure and is able to perform again.
Wow, this is truly dynamite and an explosion of talent! Never seen this performance before. These old variety shows were fantastic, especially the Christmas stuff! Brings back so many memories.
Bob , b.1918; Don , b.1922 ; Dick , b.1926 ; Andy , b,1927). *Orange sweater- Bob; Red sweater- Don; Purple sweater -Dick *The Osmond's here, were approx.ages 8/9, to 17 ( depending on when this was filmed ) . *Donny said on social media that he used to hate watching this clip, because he made a couple of mistakes !
Im a asian guy but I really love white people in general because all of my friends is white and they really love the enjoyment staff especially the holidays traditions.
Amazing prediction and Donny's joke was to become true. How did that happen? Was it all planned for them back then or did it all just happen coincidentally? Or is it a pattern that often occurs in the music industry? I guess this is what happened to the Williams family.
Everyone needs salvation here are the words of salvation please forgive me jesus im a sinner come into my heart and save me from my sin I no that you are the savior and I no that you died for me on calvary and I no that God raise you from the dead and you are alive and I thankyou for your salvation in Jesus holy name amen and its important to always ask for forgiveness every night and hope you come in my email ❤❤😊

We'd never miss a Perry or Bing special.
💯✨👍
Indeed, the Williams Brothers and the Osmond Brothers were the greatest voices in the music industry. Love them all. I wish they could re run those shows on televisions.
I miss clean entertainment. Was really special back then!
The Williams Brothers looked so much alike and sang harmony like buttah. I love how they recognized the Osmond gift and promoted the boys' careers.
I miss these days.✨❤️🔥
Andy Williams father discovered the Osmonds and Andy the ever obedient son put them on his show. He nurtured them and looked after them. Bless you Mr Williams. Not only handsome and multi talented but generous, charitable, kind and a great family man. RIP.
The Williams brothers & the Osmond brothers doesn't get any better than this
They were all great singers and listening to them sing now is so wonderful.
Amazing talent! It's so ironic that little Donny's joking statement became a reality. Little did they know that Donny would go out on his own and have his own show. Thank you for sharing!
and he DID every year invite his whole family on his Christmas Show. The 1st one with Andy Williams and Paul Lynn.
@@laurenmontera9516 do you mean Paul Lynd? Center square on Hollywood Squares? Uncle Arthur on Bewitched?
Jay used to say he would have his own show before Donny joined the brothers. It was just a line in the skit
Yep. And he was arrogant about it.
Bring back shows like this!
The Williams brothers never got a drop of that hot chocolate;
They sang some great chords in that arrangement.
Love it!! Both groups are amazing singers!! How wonderful to see and hear this!!
What happened we just do not have this on tv anymore! Miss it very much family time and entertainment.
I didn’t realise there were so many Williams brothers. Great.

RIP Don Williams, the Williams Brothers last surviving member. Passed away at the age of 100.

Haha brilliant
Yeah, caught that too, but without the rainbow flag.
i don't know much about the williams Brothers but the Odmonds are Grown up and have lots of Children.
@@protochris gay means happy people Look it up it don't just mean what everyone think's it is
@@Royelsworth that's why I said without the rainbow flag.
A beautiful time in life... I was little when I’d watch this show.. 🎄
How Prophetic was that both statements came true.
What a good combination of good talent.
Love this classic
"Me oh my, everybodies' gay"... Crack up....
The Williams Brothers & The Osmonds Brothers
Love the Williams version of Canadian Sunset
It was funny that it was Donny who went out on his own.
Toni Wilson How eery that it came through. 😮

Airing one's "dirty laundry"(a.k.a "family secrets") on tv, How tacky can you get?!
What 'dirty laundry' was exposed here? It seems like a totally normal interview to me.
