Listen, ok I work for an airline as a Customer Service Advisor and we are not hired by the airline directly but outsourced from a 3rd party and usually such airlines tend to use companies from Asia specifically India or surrounding countries and let just say and this is in no way meant to insult anyone, usually agents from such countries don't give 2 fucs about the customers or what issue they may have and yes they all have horrible grammar and are usually rude with the customers.

for some reason every time i have flown through united my bag gets subjected to one of those "random searches", like i pack my bag so carefully and then they rummage around in there displacing shit and causing things to get broken in the process

United is straight trash, my worst flight happened with them. First my flight was cancelled and changed to a different one later in the day, then it got delayed 4-5 hours. After that I was told I'd receive a voucher for a room because I was obviously missing my layover, which mind you was also delayed by 4 hours but I still didn't make it. When I went to go get my voucher for a place to sleep I had to wait 30 minutes on the phone for it because the in person people were not allowed to get me one, the voucher hotels were completely booked and I was lucky I was able to find a room because of the hotel front desk lady. It was 1 when I got into the hotel room. The cherry on top of all that was they didn't let me have my checked bag saying it would be on the flight the next day and my flight the next day was delayed an hour.
United is infamous for a lot of things. Majority of them bad. Its the reason why most of my relatives would rather use the Amtrak, or their own cars to travel, especially if the only flights left are with united.
If I ever do fly I'm probably going to fly with carry-on baggage only. Way too many stories of lost luggage an items missing from people's bags when they arrive at their destination.
If it makes you feel better, new DOT rules require airlines to refund your ticket AND your bag if you don’t receive your bag within a certain amount of time. We can’t accept late bags anymore and higher ups are getting super strict on bags right now :)
Also to add: I get SO SO SO many people booking two separate flights instead of two flights on the same ticket and thinking their bag will end up at the final location. i deal with hundreds of people a week and this is so common. Example: This lady bought a ticket to Houston then a ticket from Houston to Dallas separately. Sometimes it’s cheaper separately or plans changed. When we printed her bag tag and checked her in, she only was able to get her bag routes to Houston and not all the way through to Dallas. I couldn’t change the bag routing because it’s either i change the routing and she doesn’t make the 45 min cutoff time for dropping off bags (just get to the airport earlier, please please please lol) OR she picks her bag up in houston and is late for her Dallas flight. Add on #2- book directly with the airline and NOT a travel agency. If it’s something WE caused, then we will help regardless, but if it’s an issue with the ticket, payment, showing up too late etc there’s not much we can do other than rebook you and even then there might be a fare difference.
This sounds like a law firm should get involved for a joint lawsuit
And with pictures and screenshots of the failure to fix the mistake, id say that this is practically a guaranteed win

I would've called the police and report them for theft and refused to return it
Cool reddit story, they could write a NYC best seller book
"you bag is at the delivery service"
Its only going to get worse. We are in the "factors leading up to the collapse" part of the history book.
I think the rep forgot the coma between "bag" and "is"
Well if seems like United needs to learn why the old inspirational phrase that uses their own company name ends with “Divided we Fall”
Dont forget "United breaks guitars"
I hear United breaks guitars... there's a song about it and everything.
Holy shit I cant believe United would dare to treat their customers poorly! Shocking! Baffling! Unexpected!
tell them youre AT the complex with a gun ready to reclaim your bag in person, they'll call the cops to pick it up for you
And this why airlines banned airtags on luggage, but it was actually amended and the court ruled that you have a right to track your luggage.
That's when you take that evidence to an attorney
Yeah that's fake
This reeks of a class-action lawsuit
I think they are trying to change their reputation from someone who breaks guitars.
I mean, how probable is it that someone will make a song about a lost suitcase?
for some reason every time i have flown through united my bag gets subjected to one of those "random searches", like i pack my bag so carefully and then they rummage around in there displacing shit and causing things to get broken in the process
Yeah its good business for the occasional bag to go missing and get ransacked
While I understand companies that decide to automate Customer services, I hate it when most of them give up on actual workers you could call when what you want to do doesn't work
I heard United also HATES Taylor made guitars
i never check a bag if i can help it. this stuff happens too much for it to be worth the risk even if it is quite low
well yeah. united breaks guitars
If only we had a song about how bad United was…
Oh wait we do. United Breaks Guitars
Employees steal bags all the time.
*melanated employees steal bags all the time.
Air Canada stole mineral samples from my brother's checked luggage that was meant to be an x mas present for my nefew. Thier response? " you got your bag back, be happy that happened.
the rot spreads...
This is why i dont travel farther than i drive
Imagine trusting an American owned company, then being surprised when they scam you 😂😂😂😂😂😂
United is straight trash, my worst flight happened with them.
Call the guitar guy, maybe another song is in order
"You bag"
And I know the ethnicity of the rep.
can you make the screenshot of the texts smaller? i can just barely read them when i zoom in and everything so
You guys smell that? It smells like a lawsuit!
*United breaks guitars plays in the background*
They. Sent my fathers bag to some tiny island in another country... on a flight from NC to TX.
Law firms salivating rn
United is infamous for a lot of things. Majority of them bad. Its the reason why most of my relatives would rather use the Amtrak, or their own cars to travel, especially if the only flights left are with united.
Id also stand outnside of the building with a sing saying im suinging the land loard for harboring a luggeg smuggaling ring
Are there a load of broken Tylor guitars there
