Ah, late work! I told my high school students it would go to the bottom of the pile to be graded after current assignments. They'd fuss, and I'd say, "Bless your heart!"
The curse savers reminds me of when our custodian came with the wringer mop and cleaned up the lake and river of vomit at the door of our room by the back stairs. When reaching to pull the window shut, he accidentally kicked the bucket sending the entire mess like a waterfall down the stairs. In a fury, he called out, “GOD……….(then realizing it wasn’t going to go over well in the hearing of the first grade, the teacher, and two nuns in a Catholic school)………..BLESS IT!”
This skit was hysterical. As a former teacher I can tell you thst there was no difference bewteen my inner thoughts and reality. I said exactly what was on my mind to parents, admin, and other teachers all the time. By the time I quit I'm pretty sure there was a bounty on my head. The only one of those things I never had to deal with was stupid questions at the end of staff meetings. Even the dumbest of the dumb people that I worked with didn't want to spend an extra second in those pointless meetings.
Sometimes I feel like we should all let those intrusive thoughts out, because they can’t fire us all without being short staffed and maybe things would change for the better because we are all being listened too. Also if that’s all wishful thinking, at least we’ll feel better and justified.
"What am I teaching today? What am I doing here?" Yeah. At least once a week. But the grading inner thoughts are my outer thoughts. You turn it in late, I grade it late.
I have learners telling me they didn't have time to do my homework, so I just tell them I won't have time to mark their tests. I then stamp it with a date 2 days later than everyone else's.
The staff meeting, "92% of do not need to" LOL!!!
That last one though. I’ve actually told students that I’m in no rush to grade late work.

"Amy, put your hand down" 😂
"is this graded?" "honey, if I dont grade it, you wont do it. we both know that"
The students know that too, that's why they are asking lol.

The planning one is so true 🤣😂
Nailed it!
"What are we going to talk about today? Did I even plan something for today?" So familiar ...
My sweet poor teacher. If I could only hug you.
35 years in the profession and this is so accurate!
How did you know what I was thinking 😂
Is that Visiting Day in the background?!!! I remember that book!
I had a gifted class ALL ask if a project was getting graded! 😅
When I use the kid’s term “sheee” you know what I wanted to say… or shi…shkabobs

Too close to reality. 😅
“Is this graded?” It sounds like you didn’t give them a syllabus.
« Is this graded ? »😂
Reminds me of kids not wanting to read extra stuff if it didn’t counter for marks
