LadaNiva is a Franco-Armenian group singing mainly ethnical songs from Armenia, and also from Balkans: Greece, Serbia, Romania and others.
The present song, Șaraiman, is a Romanian-Gypsy song.

They had chosen their group name looking through a window and seeing an almost obliquus car: Lada Niva, made by the automaker AvtoVaz.
The automaker still exist and has new models, one of the latest being Lada Largus, in collaboration with Renault, a revamped version of the Dacia Logan MCV.
Also Lada Granta is based on the second generation of Dacia Logan (sedan) and Renault Symbol.

Is musica lautareasca (lauta=instrument with strings), mostly sung by gypsy. This song is originally sung by Romica Puceanu that comes from a long line of lautari gypsy (musicants gypsy). is the old version of today manele.
