This is really tough. I hate seeing such passion and talented projects fail when there are a million other worst shows made just for money that thrive. I will miss this genuinely funny, beautifully animated and well written story.
BRUH i got to agree with you i would rather this show win the approval of tv broadcasting peoples attention and air at least up to 4 seasons of this show because we would be lying if we say it lacks potential + it is educational

(words cannot describe the grand wave of sadness that this extremely unfortunate information has bestowed upon me)

I know the target Audiance are the Dutch but its a shame that the cancelation came right as the international community started to get huge. Everyday I now see at least two people with a Zellig pfp in unrelated disucssion across every platform.
I get the feeling that although the official series won't continue, Ongezellig will still live on through the work of it's community. whether through comics, fanart, ai covers, and hell, even shitposts. like tf2 hasn't had much update from its own developers leaving most of the new entries to community made projects, so perphaps the same thing can happen here. so while the official series has ended and I respect the creator's decision to no longer continue the series, I feel like this is not the end, not while we're still keep it alive that is.

One of his biggest audiences was Russia, the country that currently cannot give him a measly cent. And he himself said how come a video for "Dutch's Iceber" or something like that had more views than ALL THE PILOT PARTS TOGETHER!
I love this song, so to see it used in this context is bittersweet. I always had a feeling Ongezellig would unfortunately never become a full series. It just didn't do well enough. That became extra clear to me when the Netherlands Iceberg video completely overshadowed it. Guess nothing can beat copying current trends... Personally, I think icebergs are done to death. I'm also not sure how the show would continue, since it ended on such a high note. I really liked the ending. Continuing it from there might diminish it. Also, I'm sure the fanbase's interesting sense of humor isn't exactly helping Massa pitch this show to larger studios.
