The cabbage rolls look very good. I haven’t made them in forever. I remember when you were getting the good deals on the jarred sauce. It was good you grabbed it at that price.
Try putting about 2cups sauerkraut in the bottom next time. It’s amazing! When I had open heart surgery the lady staying with me/me taught me how to do that. It’s amazing!
My mother in law used to make a cabbage salad with shredded cabbage and diced apples, then she mixed it with miracle whip . I personally liked to use a healthier version which is a mixture of Greek Yogurt and vinegar and maybe a dash of sugar or a healthy non sugar like stevia for an interesting salad.
I just got 20lb of very lean ground beef from the farm up the road for $100. (Steers that have not grown big enough for market) and now I see cabbage rolls and spaghetti dinners in my future!
@@scrappy836548 it’s extreme lean because the steers are barely old enough to be called steers. The farm raises calves before selling for finishing these are the culls. Just up the road and a couple of times a year. Lucky to have heard of it.
You had a very busy day. It's been very interesting to catch you live & see what you're doing 'behind the scenes' & then see how your videos look when you put it all together, post production. To be honest, I really didn't think it would matter, but it's been great fun & when you go live while filming, it truly does show how much effort you put into everything & it makes me appreciate you & your channel that much more. Thank you Bev for taking us along for the sometimes wild ride & teaching me so many things along the way. You're greatly appreciated & I thought I'd definitely let you know that! God bless you ❤
Ty. The ones in Egypt are called mashy means to stuff. I have a friend from Egypt who taught me how to make them. He usually uses cabbage but has also used grape leaves. If they were canned they were pickled, if fresh, they are not, or even romaine lettuce. I love them.
Wonderful, from backstage on the live to taste test with Mr. Volfie. Your recipe is totally different from how I make them. I dont put rice in mine. I serve it on the side. Just beef onion, celery mushroom, and bacon. I also use tomato soup and tomato juice. Sometimes, I will top with rib ends then bake. Much love from Thunder Bay Ontario
I got a half of a bushel of pickling cucumbers for two dollars. I have never made bread and butter pickles but I did them and dill... we will have pickles for a while... local farm had this great deal.
Yum Bev, haven’t made cabbage rolls in a couple years. I always used sauerkraut with my cabbage rolls. I guess because my grandmother was German and that’s the way she taught my mother and that’s how it gets passed down, lol. Howie and Gracie enjoyed them too. Have a very blessed day everyone! ❤️🤗
Oh man. Love me some cabbage rolls!

Whenever I start cooking, I always say to myself: ‘ when in doubt, always use the bigger bowl’.

Once you have cabbage rolls with kraut in the sauce, you will never go back.

You can shave down the thick end instead of cutting it out.
This video reminded me i have a tray of cabbage rolls in the freezer. Guess what we will have this week.
