Great video. I've been looking at this tree - I like the narrow size..... just didn't want it to be too skinny. From the look of yours it seems very Nice and full
So pleased you like my review of the BH Fraser for Christmas tree. I would love to see what the pre-lit version turns out like. Please post pictures. Happy tree trimming.
Fantastic I got so excited when I seen this video. I've always wanted a balsam hill tree and have spent years looking at them. I just got mine this year in the July saving event they had. One thing I did do was Order the branch sample box which was very worthwhile. When lusting after the royal blue spruce when I got the sample kit when I got it my favourite was the nordmann fir. (7ft unlit) So that's what I ordered and I can't wait to get it out of the loft I know I will love it. I have friends and family who have these trees I think they are worth the expense.
Thank you for your comment. I do agree the quality is worth paying for and the only issues are knowing which style of tree to choose and weather to go pre-lit or not. I will say I have no regrets and I'm sure you won't either. I would love to see photos of your finished tree. :)
I just got a Balsam Hill tree with the amazing twinkly lights. There is a twinkly light app that allows you to create literally thousands of lighting designs for it. We set it up for Halloween!!
Hi, it was my first time viewing your video and you did great. I just saw the reviews of Balsam Hill trees on its website and most of the reviews were not good. I think you made the right choice by buying the tree without lights because on some of the reviews the lights did not work. Your tree looks great though!
Connie Aronson thank you so much for your kind review. It’s a lovely quality tree and would highly recommend to anyone looking to buy. Enjoy the rest of the festive season.
Thank you so much for this! Just about to invest in the BH Noble Fir and I feel slightly less nervous about it now. Looking forward to your next videos!
Thank you for the kind words. Like me I'm sure you've seen some not so great looking videos of BH trees, which was putting me off due to the premium price. The key I think is all in the fluffing of the branches. The more time... the better the look. I'm thrilled with mine so I think you will be with yours. Post some pictures below when you've got it decorated. Would love to see what the Noble Fir looks like. My next video on putting lights on the BH will be up in the next few days. Thank you once again :)
Yup really good job. Was just thinking hope you didnt have along task of adding on the lights since the tree was all assembled and fluffed already. But next video i guess. Im sure with the cost of the Balsams you have enjoyed it for the past three years and during the pademic. Cheers!!!
The tree has never disappointed. I close it up every year to put it in its storage bag and every year I open it back up with little fuss. Considering buying another Balsam Hill Tree (pre-lit). Am a fan for life.
@@ryanjohnson6843 I received it some time ago tried it I want to make sure that it worked it worked perfectly it was well wrapped and I’m very pleased with it and I can’t wait to put it up and put my decorations on it It’s a lovely tree and I’m going to put mine by the window in my living room
Thank you for your video. I recently purchased the 6.5 pre-lit from BH of the same style. Your video from 5 years ago tells me that they have gone way down in the quality of how its made. I put the pieces together as you're doing, and the tree is crooked/bent. None of the pre-fixed branches are symmetrical like yours. After "fluffing" the inside of the branches, you can still see the center of the tree. Granted, I can add garland to cover the top two sections like THEY did with the bottom section. But I shouldn't have to for the price. Let's move on to the outer part of the branches. They are sideways. The underside is either completely twisted to the side, so you have to bend the pre-fixed branches for the end to look straight. Also, the ends don't fluff like they are supposed to or look right the way they have the lights on. It's reallt disappointing. I've been disabled really since 2002, but legally, 2010. So, some years, depending on if I had my back surgeries close to the holidays, I didn’t put trees up. Then, about 7 years ago, it just became too much. This year, though, has mostly been a great year for our family. My 25yo son is building his own custom home with his soon to be fiancée-proposing on the day they get their keys- my husband got a major promotion at work after closing his own business. So when I saw the BH on sale for Black Friday, I got really excited about putting a tree up. After seeing all the issues and it looking NOTHING like what they show on their site, i am completely devastated and am no longer in the Christmas spirit to put a big tree up. So I'm going to get our 3ft tabletop tree out and decorate it. I will have to return all the beautiful ornaments I've bought at stores, online and the specially made ones I will sell or give to my son and fiancée. Places like BH are buyer beware. If you can't see what they look like in the store, DO NOT BUY! As we've all seen, especially since COVID that companies have gone down in quality while raising their prices to make up for the loss of closing down for so long. Merry Christmas to your family, Ryan from mine.
Thanks for the great video. I was looking at BH trees online but just couldn't pull the trigger bc of the prices. Ended up getting a 7.5' tree at Walmart for $89 with ZERO expectation that it would be really nice, but it is -- really nice! Not quite as realistic, but still really lovely. Seems like the technology is pretty sophisticated by now, and it's not hard to mfr a BH type tree for a fraction of the cost. Like yours, it takes a good while to fluff. I was glad to see it isn't just me.
I have a 7.5 ft tree from Walmart that was $88 when I got it several years ago. It's going in the trash after this year and I'm getting a high quality tree, probably Balsam. My Walmart tree sheds horribly and always has, putting in each branch is tedious and it looks cheap. It does dress up nicely but that's the ornaments doing there job. Every year I end up hating and cursing that tree. It served it's purpose when I was in a financial pinch. This year I'll be buying next year's Christmas tree when everything goes on sale.
@@tracyc.1005 Well I certainly get that. I think we were just lucky and maybe we got one of their better styles. It came in three sections but the branches are all permanently attached - the bottom two sections are on hinges and the branches fall down into place, and then you have to spread the smaller branches out. The funny thing is this year we totally forgot to spread the branches out and it looks fine that way too! Good luck!
Thank you for the video! I wanted to ask if your unlit tree still came with the "easy plug" and if so how you attached that to your own strands of Christmas lights? Thanks!
Hi Christine, the unlit version doesn’t come with the easy plug system. I believe the easy plug system in the UK is a connector which is within the pole it’s self. If you wanted to add additional lights I can’t see it being a issue. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.
Thanks for this video! Question for you...do your individual sections lock in place or can you pull a branch and move them? My sections just kind of settle into each other, no real lock. If I pull a branch sideways, my whole section spins! It doesn't appear that your tree does that.
Hi Kerry. At first the tree sections just pop together and you can spin each section separately. After fluffing, the the branches start to entwine with each other which stops the sections from moving individually, like you describe. The whole tree can still be rotated until the bolt on the stand has been screwed in tightly, which I found useful. I hope this answered your question.
What a beautiful looking tree! I just ordered the prelit version of this. Thank you so much for the thorough review! Also, where are your curtains from please? It’s lovely! :)
Thank you Nessa for your lovely comment. I do believe you will be very happy with your choice of tree. Would love to see the Prelit version, Please post pictures. Yes it took me a long time deside on tree. I really like the idea of pre-lit but was worried about them eventually failing.
I had a similar fear and also wasn't sure if I would be able to fluff the tree due to restriction with the wires.
Oh do get the prelit it’s so worth it and easy and if u can the flip tree as well so easy!! They last forever

At least you're honest. Another video claims they fluff in 4 minutes. I knew she was full of it!
Hi Tim I agree lol. She might have fluffed in just 4 minutes, if she doesn’t mind having a toilet brush for a tree. 😂
