I think this is a message from one generation to the next.
❤️
Always loved this. Check out their Woodstock performance called “Goin’ Home”
Alvin Lee is crazy in that performance. One of the fastest guitar players ever.
You cannot go away from Alvin Lee/ Ten Years After without doing their song, “ I’m Going Home”. It is top notch!
Alvin Lee was one of the true guitar masters that came out of the 60's. When you take the time period that this song came out it really does fit in this time also and Alvin is saying "Where do we start, with all the problems we face. I'm glad you liked it. It is a thought provoking song for sure.
Alvin Lee...one of the greatest guitarists ever to live............
Alvin Lee guitare is just perfect
50 years have passed, and while some progress has been made, we're still dealing with the same issues!
For example, our rivers don't catch fire and burn for a few days, but Pollution is still a problem!
I remember when this album first came out and I still have it.
Great band, great song!!!👌👍😎
don't know if you've done this one, a group called Argent and their song "Hold your head up"... another great song with a message...
You're right..beautiful song & instrumentals with deep, deep issues addressed. In my opinion, we all do well to reflect on how we treat each other. Great reaction Chod!
The guitar in this song is phenomenal. My favorite hippy song. A very true song still relevant today.
So captivating!
I really love your honesty and you seem like a good man
This was also during the Viet Nam war. Alvin Lee’s guitar was so captivating. One of my favorites during 1970 -1972.
Early 1970’s! You weren’t even a twinkle in your Dad’s baby eye yet! “ Goin’ Home” from the Woodstock movie is iconic.
I have always loved this song,,, and I too wish to change the world 🦋✌🦋
love your channel thanks for not stopping songs until the end frustrating some stop every 30 seconds and saying squat. keep up the great work
This whole song, with the guitar, drums, and vocals caresses your soul.
Absolute Classic.
The first line spoke directly to the hate and derision for anyone not of the status quo, I love how he unapologetically opened it and then asked, where is the sanity-as in who gives a rats a$& who I love or how long my hair is? We got waaaaay bigger issues! Case and point!
Finally!!!! Hahahaaha....lol....hahahaha...Finally.....you took my request.....hahaha....This group sang in Woodstock and tow it up!!!! Began in 1967....very influential band. Because their songs were more than the radio time 2:30 minute standards decided to play in small venues....still are one of the gods of Rock n' Roll.....The message is very deep and relevant for today.
I'd love to get your reaction to the Youngbloods' 1967 "Get Together" which introduced me to a favorite artist, Jesse Colin Young. Whenever I'm in need of a mood booster I'll listen to his "Jambalaya" or "Motorcycle Blues" and start feeling better. I'm enjoying your channel, by the way 😊
React to Im Going Home live at Woodstock by them its very very good!
This Classic Rock song is iconic, in the truest sense of the word.
No one but Alvin Lee quite had that particular tone.
Always loved this track, when I watch people listening to a song for the first time I always think about the fact that here I am a man the wrong side of 50 living in the UK and like most people I will never meet any of the people I watch reacting on RUclips, I know that isn't really news but it's a strange world we live in today, I often wonder what people in America or any country really, thinks about the citizens of other countries i wonder if we still deal in stereotypes or has the internet changed that, not sure.
You are dead on man. We all want things to be different & we all want to effect great change but this is very difficult to do. Not many of us have the courage, drive & means to do this. So we shrug our shoulders & hope that someone else will do it for us. In America we ALL need to get involved, run for office, vote & make our voices heard.
This is one of the greatest songs of all time
Even the great Alvin Lee would be stoned off the stage and cancelled with those lyrics today. Which in essence is part of the message itself. Brilliant
Be the change....
Alvin Lee.... so good on guitar. Completely underrated
Very good insight. During the time this song was a hit, our country was in the middle of the Vietnam war. There were many songs of protest during this time between 1966 and 1975. By the time the war was lost, the music scene had changed completely and Disco was the dominant music form at the time and would dominate until the early 80's. A hit during the 80's which was not disco is called 19 by Paul Hardcastle. It hit #1 and was written about the Vietnam war. It gives great insight about that war from a 1980's perspective.
Check out "Sugar the Road" from their Cricklewood Green album. Many other good tracks on that album too.
Ten Years After - I'm Going Home Live At Woodstock
You won't be disappointed
Truly a song to pass down to the next generation...every generation ❤️ Thank you 😘
Odd how this still pertains to things going on in this country today.
@Cocaine Cowboy no doubt...kinda scary.
Not Really...
@Cocaine Cowboy apparently not.
This song is timeless. 5 generations from now will be understanding and relating to the lyrics.
This entire album is very good
Saw them perform at the Forum in Inglewood in the early 70's. Grand Funk Railroad was the lead up band and they totally stole the show.
Remember when The Forum opened as a little kid growing up just a couple of miles away.
@@gregrambo606 I saw so many great shows there, not to mention the Laker games. Plenty of fantastic memories.
@@musicairplanes4884
Used to work for the Lakers
@@gregrambo606Awesome! In what capacity?

Sales. Good 'ole Fabulous Forum days.
My favourite part is where I hit “play.”
Alvin Lee on guitar🍻👍
It's a rich deep catalog. Alvin Lee and Company are old school so it's difficult kind of Benchmark what was acceptable back then that they got away with and what isn't now. But I would still say, if you want to bang her just go for something like going back to birmingham.
But if you really want to check out some bangers pretty much everything else on this album. Once there was a time, Once Upon A time, I've been there too, all this stuff just totally fucking jams and yet it's got serious messages behind it.
There is jazz in there early stuff
War has been always going on , since mankind been on earth. The Vietnam war until now wars is continuing in Syria , Iraq , Ukraine,
Russia. So Alvin lee is right in what he said in the song. War has a long. History.
Smart reaction! You make great points.
I remember when Woodstock was happening but was too young to go at the time.I was just 14.
Slow Blues in C.
Joe Cocker Mad Dogs And Englishmen album "Space Captain" similar message told in a story form. They WILL take you to church!!
"Tax the rich, feed the poor, 'til there are no rich no more." It still hasn't worked.
Alvin Lee aka the GOAT 🐐
ALVIN LEE !!.....
Great choice! Keep them coming!
This song is timeless
This album is old What He is singing about is IN THE NOW
Love Alvin Lee's guitar tone
RIP Alvin Lee...
The whole album A Space In Time is great.
the song is 50 years old and it is still current for today........Obvious they are changing the world by having people like you who are listening.
Crosby Stills Nash and Young 'Ohio' 'Chicago' 'Deja Vu' 'Suite:Judy Blue Eyes' 'Teach Your Children'
I think this song is related to the disappointment after the hippie generation after the 60’s
This song always takes me back to that time. So much social unrest but the younger people were sick of the establishment's methods and tried to make changes. The best thing out of these times were getting out of the Vietnam War and more recognition of civil rights. The worst? Well, the envisioned utopia didn't turn out the way planned and even the relaxed 'were all one' premises were swallowed back up. People grew up and became their parents. Good music eroded into disco that then bequeathed the possible hope in the 80s which drained into the vapidity of the 90s, etc etc. And here we are to today. I still want to change the world, but I don't know what to do. I guess I'll leave it up to you, Wil.
Still relevant today
In Quad god killer! They left Deram to CBS.
Not bad for 52 years ago, huh? RIP,Alvin Lee.
Still have, listen to this album.
Ten Years After Slow Blues In C from the album Recorded Live , if you like the organ and some ripping blues . I do believe that you would enjoy this one!!!
Let's hear it for Ric Lee the drummer on this track. Does he kill it or what ?
TEN YEARS AFTER, "I'D LOVE TOO CHANGE THE WORLD". ICONIC, CLASSIC SPOKE ABOUT THE TRUTH. YEAH ANOTHER, SONG FROM THE VIETNAM ERA. EVERYTHING THAT WAS RELEVANT THEN. IT IS THE SAME TODAY... WE LOST LEAD SINGER, AND GUITARIST ALVIN LEE THIS PAST YEAR AS ANOTHER OF MY YOUTHS IDOL HAS PAST AWAY... RIP 😔. OF COURSE TEN YEARS AFTER, WITH "I'M GOING HOME". LIVE AT THE 1969 WOODSTOCK CONCERT....
Check out Barry McGuire “Eve of Destruction”
Please (avatar-bloody angel) or (twelve foot ninja-coming for you)
They made it famous through Woodstock: I’m going home
They have a nice list of great songs.
Alvin Lee is considered one of the great Rock guitarist
React to album A Space in Time all tracks are great suburb album A+
Bruce Springsteen "One Step Up" is a simple, yet powerful commentary on life- definitely worth a blind side reaction
YA, I KNOW WHAT YOUR SAYIN...I LOVE TO CHANGE... LIKE WHY CAN'T WE ALL GET ALONG... YA KNOW... BUT THE BEAUTY OF THE HOLE THING, YA KNOW IN MUSIC... IT PUTS YOU IN A DREAM WORLD... LIKE... WELL, YOU KNOW ... COME TOGETHER, RIGHT NOW... BUT IT NEVER HAPPENS... THERE'S TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF LIFE ON THIS WORLD... PEOPLE AND HUMAN BEINGS-HUMAN BEINGS TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER- PEOPLE ONLY TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES... I-DA KNOW... THAT'S WHY THIS WORLD IS F*****-UP... TOO MANY FOLKS THINK THEY NEED TO GO FIRST... YA, PEACE...
What is this dead trees thing?
I have always loved this song 🎵❤ I think the Vietnam War was just ending
Song was released in 1971 so war was not close to being over
@@yenlard6683 well I am 71 so my memory isn't the greatest, sorry
Suggestion: The Low Spark of High Heel Boys by Traffic
Grand Funk Railroad Inside Looking Out live 1969 🔥🔥🔥
"You can please some of the some of the time and All of the people some of the tie.... BUT... You cant please all of the people All of the time!
The fact this has 0 dislikes makes it all the better! o/ but the dislike button will soon go up by one random person but it aint be me ! Cause this song is the best!
This is not what Ten Years After really was about. All the Reactors keep reviewing this one because it was their 1 Hit. But they were not about hits. Here is an example of what this Blues/Jazz/Rock based Band was about: ruclips.net/video/-_aKjHowJ-s/видео.html
Ten Years After are from Australia !
Don't know where you heard that, but you were told wrong. Ten Years After was from England
@@kevinlundgren1169 , absolutelly my friend; I'm sorry! Guess I got it Wrong Informations about it; it was sure a British/English band and you're right; I'm wrong ! SORRY Mate , sorry to Everybodys !
@@vnnxyz1473 No problem, just keep on rocking.
@@kevinlundgren1169 , I Like Ten Years After anyway...British or what ever they are ; always! Keep on Rockin' my Friend!
stoner music, still partake to 10 Years
Completely missed the message. The point is. You may want to change the world but you don’t know how. So you say forget it. Let someone else do it. And that’s how we got to where we are now.
An excellent Hippie-Cult-Classic - with a socialist message. BUT, everyone of them changed there views on wealth when they started playing to Arena's and Stadiums, ahhh human nature is so fickle - right?
Complicated song. At one point he says “Tax the rich/feed the poor/til there are no rich no more”. I think he is saying that it is not a good thing. Just my interpretation. It is clearly anti war, but LBJ (Democrat) was the one most responsible for escalating the war, while Nixon got us out of Vietnam. Again, that is my “read” on this song.
Can you please stop reacting to 60's or early 70's bands. I was but a child and liked a lot of these songs. Now I'm getting to know more names, more bands, more songs. I'm going down a bunch or rabbit holes and I can't stop. Help! Of course you know I don't want you to stop, but because I watch your reaction channel YT recommends other music from the same period. And I click. I know one style of the 60's I like a lot is the Mod. And there are singers and groups called The Godfathers of Mod. Maybe someone will recommend some of them I am not familiar with. Thanks for your channel.
Alvin Lee wrote the song because of all the violence and the crap going on with the world Alvin said this with his mouth.
