@adar3605 after a good long play session and a half, i can honestly say that unless you want to know all the character lore, then not really! I'm finding the storyline of journey doesn't have much of anything to do with arena, and you'll still learn about the obtainable units as you play. It's been enjoyable so far, I'd recommend giving it a try. Gameplay loop is very different from arena while keeping a few of arena's elements so it's a refreshing change of pace.

@@mirayaki6509 i've been playing for like three days and heres what i got. pros: - very f2p friendly, all units can be acquired and leveled up as you play - art direction and story is very nice and charming - most of the p2w stuff is tame so far, surprisingly cosmetics are the most expensive in the game lol - you can send out invites for help on hard stages and people can lend a unit or join themselves - main quests are intriguing enough cons: - it's got a lot of diff mechanics that take a while to learn and then they just drop a new mode right after you do - its a bit of a grind (though not really if you are taking advantage of the AFKing) - some features like guilds don't seem to have much use so far - some side quests are really good but the other 75% are trash overall its got a very good start and I think it has a bright future ahead of it so long as they keep the game from becoming pay to win as so many gacha games are.
Downloaded the game a couple of games ago, and honestly, the artstyle and animations look amazing. The game also throws a lot of currency at you, so like after two days of playing I already have a few characters I really like, which is definitely nice. I do enjoy the combination of the QOL stuff, like the autopathing and generalised equipment per class system, those are very nice to have on mobile, and the world design where you can wonder around with relative freedom. Wishlist gacha also does sweeten the feel of the casino, for me for sure. The character dialogue and interactions are a big highlight too. I can only suggest playing with lower setting to save battery. Overall I think this is a great mobile game. p.s. just for clarification, I`d like to add that I am not a bot, and I was not sponsored. I am genuinely very positively surprised by this game and can easily recommend to try it out
Coming into this game, I actually have to say my only complaint is that the gear is shared between units. It's a cool idea to keep it simple by sharing gear, but it heavily neuters the idea of builds and gameplay variety by not allowing us to brainstorm cool gear sets with specific characters. If there were specific gear items or sets that, for example, gave bonus damage for each unit on the board, then you would be encouraged to use them when playing with Summoner type characters. Similarly, if there was a gear set that gave your character energy whenever they healed a unit, obviously you'd throw that on a support. I think losing out on that fun build variety to keep things accessible works detrimentally towards the game. If they at least had an extra gear slot or set per character that let you give them unique items or artifacts like Genshin, it would pay forward hugely for the game's long term health.
lol I used to watch your videos for genshin and now I’m back again for afk. Really enjoying the new game so far. It’s refreshing to play a game that is not tedious as hell and let you enjoy using new characters without a huge pay gate. Also their afk system is really smart, rewarding you every time you log in
yeah decided to try the game and unexpectedly like it. however could be bias since I play afk arena too and Mirael was easy to get and she's a favorite of mine lmao. hope I can get an Ainz in this eventually too XD

The thing I was looking in all afk games is the Universal Leveling and Gear system. This game is like read my mind. 😂 The only turn based game I have liked in the past was Arknights. AFK Journey has become my fav one in a day xD
The quality of life is such a breath of fresh air, like same level same equipment , its just so good for f2p not to waste materials on heroes you might not use later. I love this game.

The Game is aboit the history, the AFK in this game is more for grind. There's old modes coming back. There's puzzles now, there's the exploration system, the quests and side quests. . . You need to continue in the story to contimue the game, since well, the history is aboit you being merlin"

Just don't like that I have to play it in portrait mode on my phone and I wish it were like first-person view up close. That would have been GREAT. Otherwise it's ok.
if you're running it on laptop with 2 graphics cards please check if afk journey is automatically running on your integrated one. mine did it, switching to my nvidia card helped a lot. also in the settings make sure not to choose unlimited fps, set it for 60 or 30

No you just need to play the game, and come back daily since there's a time limit (that grows by doing archiervements) But if you want to save pogress, i recomend you to save your account in case you have luck or good items and characters, not everyone is lucly to pull Rowan or even Thoran in their account, soo, it's better beware
If you are levels above enemies you can auto kill, that, is a thing you can learn in the guide, that's why he said he didn't cover everything, THERE'S A LOT of info there

theres something wrong with the sound or something cause every time a character says a word with the letter 's' its grates my ears
its very hit or miss tbh. Cecia, thoran, and mirael all have pretty great voice acting but most of the story characters are just awful to listen to

go to settings. CHANGE ULT ANIMATIONS OFF OF RANDOM. i turn em off. It makes battles last longer.

Try 30 fps + desactivate the battery save mode, It saved my game's lag A LOT, i hope they fix it too, soo it can run more smooth
