    The fact that Tom Brady used the same explanation verbatim, for using timeouts near the end of that game's broadcast, speaks towards receptive coaching to a qb

      @coreyballard8359 5 дней назад +26

      Yeah I think that was during the Packers game, but that was exactly what he said. Pretty cool listening to Tom’s rules of thumb. Said one early in the season about time management late in the half/game. Basically said 1s/yard needed. So 1:00 left on opponent’s 40 is ahead of schedule, 30s in that same spot is behind schedule.

      Another coach who sucks in the last 2 minutes is Kyle Shanahan. Not to mention that after half time he seems to forget that his team has a running back on it and when in the lead going into the 3th quarter, you run the ball to kill the clock. Try to grab the touchdown but your main job when ahead, especially by 2 scores means kill that clock as much as possible. The 49ers also don't practice the 2 minute drill as much as other teams. It makes no sense as more games than not end up being decided in the 4th.

    • @jmiyagi12345

      @@Richard-gw2lr I still think Shanahan will win a Super Bowl. But I will lose the bet on when, because given his track record, I wouldn’t bet on him to win until he actually won.

    It is not at all surprising that Bill has a time range associated with each timeout. You can tell that lesser coaches are just guessing with their timeouts. Bill has a methodology that's determined ahead of time and he follows it and most of the time that works. Not only is that good preparation but it would just make the in-game management easier. You don't have to think about it. Look at the clock and call a timeout if it fits your rule.

    Raheem just seems like a guy who watched great coaches his whole career and wrote certain things down in a notebook to copy but without understanding the reasons why they were doing it. I dont think he has a high football IQ, I dont think he is good at situational football and I dont think he will have goof game/clock management because of it. Bill handled this question the most professional way you can underplaying the elephant in the room that he was passed up for that job and would look petty if he just buried Raheem like he could have. Im so disappointed in Arthur Blanks inability to hire a legitimate head coach just about my entire life.
