- "I don't know what I'm gonna do NOW, MYLES!" - Mark Tremonti, 2K17. (These two are ridiculous. Oh, and this all went down at The Fillmore Silver Spring on February 10th, 2017, on Alter Bridge's The Last Hero Tour.)
Besides the ridiculously high amount of musicality both guys have - does anybody notice Myles plays this with fucking closed eyes?! 😂
yeah hahaha he can do that because his way of playing it's easy for a profesional like him (and awesome at the same time). Tremonti plays too fast and complex to have his eyes closed, it's just imposible to do that without making a mistake I think...
Quim terry Very true but if anyone could do it Mark could 👍
AndilLer It's all muscle memory.
Myles is.. how do I say... GODLY
goood.. i wish i had 50% of those forearms that tremonti has.. he's a beast.. both myles and mark.. total beasts
Myles, your jazz days are showing :D
When mark shreds it looks like a tarantula is proped up on his guitar just frantically freaking out but for some reason can't find his way off... Oh and that spider is also a god haha
Matthew Medeiros This is my new favorite comment of all time.
Elizabeth Owens lol that just made my day haha. Great video by the way!
LMAO man
It may be a duel, but honestly, each guitar solo was just a compliment to the other and to say one is better than the other is just wrong. 🤘
agreed~
Exactly. 2 different styles and both kicked major ass.
As a guitar player I respectfully disagree.
I am not sure why AB fans argue this all the time. They each say the other is better. I appreciate both of them.
2:41 Im sure that in some alternate universe, myles is the lead guitarist for AB.
Maybe my favorite duel I've heard Mark and Myles play! I want to hear Mark play more blues!
For those who don´t know: Myles Kennedy was a legit guitar instructor back in the day, specializing in Blues & Jazz-Fusion and has given lessons to both Slash & Tremonti, in various Jazz-Fusion techniques & music theory.
Both Slash & Tremonti have mentioned this in interviews.
Id like to read those interviews, i know mark has worked with troy stetina, bill peck, cooley, tosin, and batio but ive never read about myles teaching him stuff. Also please direct me to myles “jazz fusion” playing because id love to hear him do mahavishnu orchestra or return to forever style shit
@@knightfall9394 you can listen to his work with Citizen Swing.
There's a couple of videos online where Mark talks about this. There's also a podcast with Doc Coyne where Mark says that both he and Slash feel Myles is better than they are.. It's from 2020 or 2021. I am sure all guitarists at this level learn from each other. I have heard Slash say, on the One by One video from AB3.5, thatMyles is one of the best guitarists he has worked with. Myles is very humble and doesn't accept praise the best. He always downplays his talent.
One of my favorite videos on RUclips. They're both freaking amazing.
Myles is a monster himself
can we all just agree myles got some balls tryna duel with the tremonster himself
Bro he is a shredder himself, ofc nobody does like 864 notes per minute like Mark, but Myles was rocking some insane 720+ speed there too... And also, that solo of Myles was just legit beautiful
Both Mark and Slash have said that Myles is the better guitarist. It’s all subjective really. All 3 are bad af
@@ambrooks5 go play sax
@@Dayum261 That makes no sense but whatever lol
Look I love them both. However, Myles kicked Mark's ass like he owed him money🤣😂
Fans should have seen it coming form this duel..... Myles's year of the tiger and Mark's A dying machine
"Crossroads again"...;-). I play the guitar for 30 years... Technique is nothing regarding feeling... I spent several years to understand that... now i'm more like Myles... i slowed down and tried to hit the right note...;-).
Blues hard rock vs heavy metal shred. Both sound awesome
The amount of talent makes me teary. What the freaking hell! I love you guys!
Myles got some real SRV vibes going on
This was EPIC! What a night. Happy to relive it now and then.
That was pretty cool but wasn't the best I have ever seen, but still cool. Mark I guess isn't know for his amazing soloing but Mark's creativity and riffs are what makes him amazing.
John Doe He's really an incredible soloist. He said in an interview they purposely play the same thing because they don't like making music competitive.
He's a ****ing amazing soloist IMHO.
Man I wish I witnessed this live
HahahahaThis round goes to Myles💯
Came back to hear 0:52 lol
4:00 LOL
Better than the duel between Macchio and Vai in Crossroads 🤘🤘👏👏
Great video
Man, Mark's right hand is so damn good. Don't get me wrong, Miles is no slouch either.
Haydi myles diye bağıran amca favorim
Myles' playing is more interesting and unique but Mark's is faster and his technique is definitely more refined and defined.
This was cool and all, but who's that other guy playing with Kevin Bacon?
That's David Justice
HOLY FUCK!
Lmao, the best comment ever!
@@ilianamilcheva2617 Of course it is, I made it.
I keep seeing people mention myles and jazz on this video and im not sure people really know what jazz is because its definitely not what myles is playing here
It is blues, not jazz. There are other videos where Myles plays jazz
Myles is trained in jazz. That’s how he learned guitar- through that genre. Hope that helps
❤So good
Lowkey,
Myles > Mark
I think each one of them has its strong points. Myles is more technical and blues-jazz influenced style. Mark has a more aggressive like metal influenced sound and an incredible speed and legato technique. Both are awesome!
Myles should give Tremonti some lessons.....he could use them.
Based on all of you other dipshit comments, you know sweet fuck all about guitarists and music in general.
Wait, I figured it out, you’re Scott Stapp.
3 years best guitarist in a row for tremonti? Lol
@@rawk7722
Slash damn taught him some cool blues during all those years
Actually it's Myles who gave Slash guitar lessons
Yawn...
Moron alert.
