TUTORIAL: Photogrammetry Full Tire 3D Model with 3DF Zephyr | Click 3D Ep 65 | 3D forensics

Here is a tutorial video that shows how you can photograph and create a complete 3D model of a tire using 3DF Zephyr. One of the "tricks" with respect to getting a complete model is to photograph the object up close and try to avoid having a lot of background visible. By rotating the object on a turntable, you trick the software into thinking that the camera is moving around the object and not the other way around.

If you take your photos close up to the object with little background showing then it’s not necessary to mask the background.

Yes, it is. You can throw all of this into a photogrammetry project and have it reconstruct from multiple sources.
