Nice review, just got my Bog last week. Ordered a few upgrades from HB Industries; locking charging block, folding charging handle, mini compensator, extended bolt catch and short stroke buffer. As a leftie I couldn’t release the bolt with my trigger finger with the stock release. With the extended it’s like butter. The short stroke buffer is primarily to reduce recoil but it also solves the issue of a spent casing falling back into the trigger housing.
Great weapon and review! I've heard of the failure issue.... most failures seem to be with cheap Winchester 115grain ammo. I've also heard of people having no more issues after switching ammo.
My SPA1 might be a month older than his and I can't testify to the level of variation between each gun, but out of the box, mine had a 9 pound 5 ounce trigger. Quite heavy, but a very short travel and crisp break. MCARBO makes a trigger spring that drops that "up to 40%" and after the install, the new trigger pull weight is 6 pounds, 9 ounces. Still very crisp.
