He wasn't justifying the loss at all, If you know MMA or even boxing you know when a fighter Get's hit hard enough to the point that they're rocked the first instinct is Grabbing.. whether it's a takedown or just clinching up that's what you'd naturally do when someone has you head going 1000000 miles per hour

    Conor acting humble but only making excuses. Gave Nate no credit for his skills. But it wasn't just your inefficiency, Nate is a great fighter. He has better boxing than people think, but the reason he is so good is because like you saw when he beat Conor. Conor hit him with everything trying to hurt him, and I'm sure Nate felt those shots, but he is so experienced and composed. It's like he saw the exact moment that Conor realized he couldn't hurt him, and saw the panic. And then attacked and kept Conor on the back foot and basically drowned him in there. Nate said it before the fight, he better hope he gets that knockout, because if not it's gonna be a fucked up night for him. He knew it was Conor's only shot.

    "He's got a lot of push, he's been doing great, he's got a lot of help behind him...I wish I had that same push." Diaz referring to the UFC's huge efforts to put Conor into the media spotlight, lots of publicity, and huge paychecks as a result. I know the squeaky wheel gets the grease, and Conor's antics have been a big factor in why the UFC chose to make a star out of him. I'm sure it would be difficult to have over 20 fights for the UFC over years of time, only to see someone new come in and have the UFC turn the guy into a multi-millionaire while you are still getting relative peanuts. However, Nate needs to get a belt around his waist for that to happen, since it seems to be the biggest factor in pulling in those huge UFC paychecks.

    • @theguru1909
      @theguru1909 8 лет назад +1

      +megamania501 The thing is, Conor has the support of Irish people and the 38 million or so americans who claim to be Irish. Other countries don't support their mma fighters like the Irish do, simply because were a shit little country with no stars or famous people, only now and again do we get a world champion boxer or world class athlete, so when we do, we go go nuts and crazy and support them with everything we have. This is why Conor has the ufc where it is and where he is, because of us Irish fans, thousands of irish fans travel to see him, and thousands of irish fans who live in the usa also come to see him, and the american fans themselves. Nate, nor any other fighter in the UFC have that support, thats why conor is one of the most marketable athletes in the world. This loss means nothing, if anything it will help him grow and make him better. He will successfully defend his title im sure about that, then I hope nate beats rda and conor get's his rematch, because i think he would win a rematch based on lessons learned.

According to his strength and conditioning coach (John Connor), he fought that fight at the weight he walks around at(168). So no, he went up 0 weight classes.
      He's champ at 45 is because he starves himself half to death to get there. Since he got to the UFC he has exclusively fought guys that are smaller both in weight and height.
      Then for the first time since he got to the UFC ,at 196 he fights someone who has a small height and reach advantage and that has 11 days to prepare for it.
      You know what happened next.

      @machiavelli-thatguyisme3365 6 лет назад

      The risk falls on the favorite because they have a lot to lose than someone who takes a fight on short notice. The 10 days notice was a blessing for Nate because he had the element of surprise against McGregor in the first match. You saw what happened in the 2nd Match McGregor had a gameplan specifically for Diaz. He chopped the legs and beat Diaz easy Skill wise. The only real threat in that Match was not Diaz but McGregor's stamina. Diaz did nothing but took McGregor shots until McGregor was Tired. I love Diaz but that's the True he was ineffective in the rematch it was McGregor stamina that made it a close fight.

    Guys, even if you hate Conor, you have to commend the guy for all he's saying from like 29:30 he's saying he landed a left behind the right and knocked him off balance and hurt him, he had a great high elbow guillotene so it forced him to go on he's back, and he "Passed my guard really smoothely, he landed a few shots making me turn and he flattened me pretty quickly aswell and sunk the choke". There's no escuses there, he's great for actually admitting that the guy was brilliant vs him and strong against him if you get me . Kudos. I know Nathan A below is getting onto Conor about how he's saying he wasn't efficient. He is EXACTLY correct., He's so honest about Nate's skill and how Nate bettered him, so he's being honest about this too. You could see Conor throwing EVERYTHING behind he's punches and kicks, and you could see after only 3 mins Conor was breathing quite heavy with he's mouth open. I'm surprised by that. And more importantly, He's Head coach atually told Halwani "I was a bit worried when he came back in from the first round, he's breathing was really laboured, i was kind of shocked as i've seen Conor do an inordinate amount of rounds and never get totally gassed and blowing hard like that before. He didn't carry that weight well even though he looked well".
    Also an interesting thing for you if you think the weight wasn't a factor. Conor (as per Chael Sonnen who doesn't lie as we all know now) Weighed in 1lb lighter than he had the day before an hour before the fight, he was 167, and Diaz weighed in at 183 just over 2 hours before the fight. That's about 16lbs difference, also a 4 inch reach advantage and a 4 inch height advantage. Remember, Rory McDonald walks around at 205-208lbs (he said officially) and they fought eachother at 170, now Rory was quite alot stronger as Nate wasn't a Huge 170lb, but Nate walks at 190. Im actually SO impressed at Conor for being able to close that gap and get inside Nate's guard So fast. No guaging up, no feeling out, just bang bang bang. I hated Conor because he's a nasty little shitbag before the fight, but have alot of respect for him now. Let's hope he loses that nasty streak

      You should lose your so-called "respect" for Conor, if in fact you weren't a fan boy from the beginning. The point you're making with your long post is that Conor's reply at 29:30 is so honest. Uh, dude... he didn't even answer the journalist's question, which was whether Conor went for a takedown of Nate after he was hurt only to stall for time in order to just get past the second round. Conor's long reply didn't even address the question. Then he goes on criticize Aldo for not celebrating another man's win, as if Conor hasn't mentioned other fighter's win against his upcoming opponents. He also further criticizes Aldo for not showing up to fight, when he does the same thing for UFC 200. At least Aldo has a legitimate reason for declining to fight, namely not enough prep time. Conor declines to fight UFC 200 because of promo reasons or whatever excuses he's given.
      If you want honesty, see Nate's reply to Conor's comment. He simply says at 32:00 that in regards to the journalist's question and why Conor went for the takedown.... Nate says he felt he was the better boxer and was better at the standup game, and that's why Conor went for a takedown. All he says is "It had nothing to do with anything". And that's it.
      You must love Conor's long replies and his lies about fuck all. Ok, so Nate's less articulate and eloquent in his talk. But sometimes the honest answers are the shorter answers and the ones that addresses the question being asked.

      isn't it possible we could actually have an intellectual conversation about the fight? i mean, it was a fucking VERy entertianing fight. Win or Lose, it was one of the best fight's i've ever seen. Eddie Bravo and Joe rogan both said the same. They didn't fuck around, they went in and did the job. Why do we have to argue and be cunts to eachother, can you jst reply back to me with your point of viiew?
