I’ve been so upset since he left his role as Ben in EE, but now hearing why in his own words I totally understand and am glad he did so. Being healthy mentally and physically should always be the priority and I hope somewhere down the line we will see him back on the Square and creating absolute unmatched chemistry and magic with Tony again!

Max will always be Ben in my eyes, even when he's not in EE. Even watching this I feel I'm watching Ben getting interviewed. He plays him that well.
I never thought anyone could play the role of Ben Mitchell as well as Harry Reid did. I loved Harry Reid’s portrayal of the character. He was my favorite and I was biased when Max first started playing the role as Ben Mitchell. But he grew on me! I ended up really liking him as Ben Mitchell and would be happy if he came back to play him again.
Max said he would consider coming back, but from his interview I got the feeling that he would only consider it if it was the last option. It seems to me that it was a very tiring job that took up a lot of his life.
Even the actress who played Lolla said she wouldn't work on a soap again because it's too exhausting.
He was the best Ben and I loved Ballum, but I hope he shines in other roles and places and doesn't have to go back to the show.

@@GinaSigillito Yeah. In this interview, he says that after the play he's about to do, he's going to rest and that his next projects will be chosen if they allow him to spend more time with his son.
He's very talented. He deserves to play several other characters and work somewhere that doesn't consume his life.
These last few months he seems so happy and lighter.
Thank you for this excellent interview, Lewis Nicholls. It puts everything into perspective and I'm glad that Max Bowden gets the opportunity to tell his story. It's completely understandable that he had to take care of himself after playing Ben in EE for 5 years. With some of the darkest and most dramatic storylines, it was only inevitable that they were taking their toll on his physical and mental health. It makes me feel glad to see him in a better state of mind now and I hope he continues to shine in all the projects to come.

I really appreciate your presence in EE. It is already clear that storylines like those is quite exhausting, can't even imagine how exhausting it must be filming them in terms of time, emotions etc. Tbh I don't even watch the show, I just ran into Ballum edits one day and here I am. But as I kept watching I got extremely moved by the genuine and inspirational acting. Hope to see you on Birdsong. Take care 🖖

Max lost his way after his mate died, annoyed that the crew didnt get him help he was clearly crying out for it but glad he looks and sounds alot happier and in a better place now...
An incredibly honest and incredibly humble person Max Bowden is. Such a top-tier talent as well. Huge respect to Max.
I “met” Max as half of Ballum. Ballum was an amazing pairing of characters and, with Tony Clay, of two talented actors. EE is far less interesting without them together. The chemistry between them was magic, in my opinion.

Of course he will return to Eastenders unless BBC has another project lined up for him. When he turns 40, I’d like to see him play Hercule Poirot. He’s got the looks for it and hopefully managed to learn the Belgian accent. Incredibly talented, he is a David Suchet in the making.

Max Bowden (Ben) was my favorite actor in Eastenders, when he left it just wasnt the same, so i dont watch it any longer, miss Callum too...👎🏻..
I liked Max’s Ben but I disagree saying he was the best Ben, Harry Reids portrayal was more liked and had better onscreen chemistry with Jamie (jay)
That’s not true. Max won more awards than any other Ben actor and his onscreen chemistry with Jamie was brilliant, same as with the rest of the mitchell family. He was by far the best ben.
Lol that is such a lie. Max literally won numerous awards and Ballum became the biggest soap couple for 5 years and won multiple awards for their partnership.
@@justaperson2222Harry Reid definitely the best Ben Mitchell on EastEnders. What big awards did Bowden win? Max never won the big awards like a British soap award he always lost. Sure he won some tacky award from Inside Soap magazine but that isn't prestigious.
