@@PhantasticAdventures i try to do it with Toyota camry se 2015 but the problem no chip . what can i do ? the key its open the door but cannot start the engine
If your car wont start and shows the red security light flashing after your module has been moved to your long key switch FOB. The RF ID transponder chip is too far from the ignition to read. To fix remove the RF ID chip from the module (Its very small with a number on it) glue it to the forward cavity of the new FOB across from where the key folds. Can also be held in place with paper without glue so it wont move around in the FOB casing. Just a quarter to a half of an inch makes the difference. You can test prior to the removing the RF chip by removing your module then inserting the key and turning the ignition on while holding the module right next to the ignition key slot. Later model Lexus use the short key shafts. So the long key shafts put the RF ID chip too far from the ignition so the vehicle cant read it. My switch key FOB did not have the slot for the transponder. :-(
Is there ANY way you can help with winding the key spring??? I have the SAME blank and it's NOT going back together. You made it look easy and I'm about to pull my hair out.
Morning John, I am currently in the process of make a video for the switch panel and linking people to where to but it :) but it's a marine switch panel designed for boats, it's flush and very easy to install :)
I still have and use the key fob. it is a bit worn now but still works an operates, the spring has of course lost it retention, but still flips out but slower. beside that. still going strong. and yes i have dropped it on a number of different occasions
Phantastic Adventures...Great Vid!!! I'll be doing this to my 07 FJ. Should be easy no chip. Anyway I love the steering wheel wrap, were might I find one?
Hey, great video... I have a 2017 tacoma and was wondering if there was a way to remove the key blade from the new key and replace it with the original... The new tacoma has a laser cut key and its different than the one that came with the new shell
thanks, but i am unsure with other key as this was done using my personal car and with my key, but if your key has a transponder key then this method will work
Hey Oliver, this method won't work for the A/T push start transmission fob. There is a thread over at tacomaworld.com that talks about using the Lexus credit card fob to achieve something similar. I have a 2017 M/T transmission and this method will work with my key as I don't have a push-start.
I cannot access my FJ Cruiser key fob. There are 2 screws and when I opened it up, only the battery was exposed and there is no transponder in sight. Please help.
Thanks! You saved me from buying another chip. Cost to cut the key was minimal.
I've finally had enough. I just ordered one of these. Standard FJ keys are shite!
Thanks!
Tried this and it worked like a charm. Great video. Thanks again.
Melosmoov Mel your welcome mate

Andrew Phan make another one but for a ford focus 2004
How's the key fob holding up after 4 years? Have you dropped it?

Ive had mine for a couple years and it still works well but not like the finesse of when it was brand new. Brand new it just seemed tighter.
Dude you saved the day, I got mine changed and there was no instructions about the transponder. Thank you and keep up the great job!!!
Nice video, it helped me with my key swap

Hey Andrew, great video. Am just curious where you got your key cut in Perth. Can't seem to find an affordable place south of the river. Cheers!
Hey Andrew, Will this key daub work for a 05 Tacoma as well?
How much did it actually cost you to cut it? I've been quoted $50 - $60 but seems pretty messed up to be triple the price of the unit.

alvin gonzales are you sure you are looking at ur main fj key and not a spare? If it doesn't look like the one on video then it might not work
what flip fob do you have and how much is it?
Wow thanks a lot
does it work with fj 2013
I don't even have a car
thank you it helped me !!!
What switch panel is that mounted on the driver's vent panel ?
Pat TheMan the switch panel is from a marine switch panel here is a link from eBay www.ebay.com.au/itm/311798438892
I did it to my 2010 and the car wont turn on...
Too far from front of key. Did you figure it out? Trying to see how it's done with late models
क्या बात है
it is useless because the rf id transponder chip is too far away to be read.
Untrue. I have had mine for years.
Mine works perfectly fine, the rf I'd transponder gets moved closer to the key in the new housing.
