I recently switched to Sticky Snowball after trying most of Chemical Guy's soaps. Sticky Snowball in my experience out foamed all of the other CG soaps, but only by a small amount. Hydro Suds is the closest to Sticky Snowball with the amount of foam it produces. Honestly, Hydro Suds is probably a better product in general but almost triple the price of Sticky Snowball. So for a standard high foaming shampoo that doesn't cost a fortune, Sticky Snowball has taken the top shelf in my detailing arsenal.
I have to confess I’m at Chemical Guys and P & S junky. Prior to using this particular soap from Chemical Guys I was using Maxi suds 2. Which is not a bad soap. I do I’ll see use Mr. pink, and several other Chemical Guys soaps and washes. But I will say sticky snowball. Seems to be the best one yet and I do use it through one of the Chemical Guys foam cannons. I buy the gallon size also And I tend to go heavy. My theory if a little bit works some more will work better. I have use this soap on my wife’s black Lincoln. Today I use it on my buddies Mazda X5. He is not one for putting a lot of effort into taking care of his ride. So I spent four hours on a cleaning it up today for him and when he showed up today, so damn you got it looking brand new again. Overall I like their soaps and make a great product. I know I have used some of their waxes.
Ive got a tip, no hate its just somwthing ive learned as a detailer to my own car but try not to go over the same area too much with the foam. If you do that it just builds up and makes the foam heavier and then it runs off quicker
i do this just to show the foam output and get close ups for these videos but i tend to try to use up all the soap in the cannon regardless since i prefer to start fresh with each wash
WOW. Coupled to that Griot's Brilliant Finish Foam Cannon looks like it performed amazingly well. I am getting a bottle of that stuff. I still enjoy using Chemical Guys' products. Well, at least certain ones of them. Their soaps are very good although I am suspect that they perform any differently between all the soaps. Just use the one you like personally and you can't go wrong. I personally like their citrus wash and gloss, Blacklight, and V07 Gloss Enhancing soap but that's just me. Very good value and a notch way above those gallon containers you get for $9 at the big box stores which is 98% water and coloring. I have both the BOSS and the Brilliant Finish Foam Cannons and both are excellent foam cannons although the Brilliant FInish Foam Cannon is almost half the price although the BOSS has the metering tips which I also love. They are both top tier foam cannons.
Having honey dew as my old main it definitely performs better. I had a better mix not quite as much run shown here. I used to wash my Tacoma in sections. If I go over twice I no longer wash my Tacoma in sections but once over. My new main with griots brilliant cannon. Very happy always buy the gallon 39.99.
I have used honey dew snow foam. When I did it smelled great so a fruit fly for in to it and died. No harm to finish. Washed off. Might try this I'm using cg extreme body wash. And Mr. Pink is my go to.
If they are trying to compete with Adams Mega Foam they need to focus more on Lubricity, Self Cleaning Properties, PH Neutral, and More concentrated soap for higher foam output. Lastly and most importantly imo, it HAS TO BE GOOD TO USE IN THE SUN WITH NO WATER SPOTS.
Great video AF, seems like pretty good foam, but I’ll stick with Adam Mega Foam. I feel it generates more foam and best of all, it cleans, you see dirt on the foam run off. If you haven’t tried, you should. Maybe do a comparison. Great video again AF 👍
I use their soaps like crazy the honeydew foam has all ways been my go too. when this soap was released, I wanted to try it. I'm glad I did it performs awesome for me it's now my go to soap very happy with this product.
Have you ever tried “salts gone” for the winter. Been seeing it a lot lately and wondered if you would do a review/ had an option. Advertises ph neutral and safe for waxes and ceramic coatings.
Just got it and tried it. It did well but the sticky part did not remain on car as long as. I thought it would. Going to stop by my local chemical guys store and see if it was my fault
Hey Phil, my Stelvio QV got repossessed. I bought a 2004 Honda Element EX. It's perfect for Puerto Rico 🇵🇷. I do miss those 500 Horses under the hood though and the intoxicating exhaust note.
I became disabled and Social Security has been dragging their feet. I got evicted too. When I bought the Stelvio QV I was employed by NYC Transit as a Train Operator. I'm also a Multi-War Combat Veteran. The injuries caught up with me in a bad way. I took good care of her so if you see her at auction someone should scoop her up. Cheers.
This is peoples main gripe with CG. The soap has a minuscule difference to their other lines. I prefer glossworkz in south Florida because it does great at preventing water spots and foams great. The only issue I have with it is that it doesn’t cling the surface very well. Perfect for maintenance washes and not trashed vehicles.
I'm excited to try this. I'm not thrilled anymore with snowfoam from CG. But I did accidently buy Gyeon Bathe instead of Bathe+ for ceramic. WOW the Bathe stuck to the car like you wouldn't believe. I'm using that from now on.
Hi auto fanatic, I'm a car detailer here in TX where the water is heavy so it's really bad with water spots after wash and rinse. I bought me a filter which was a waste because it didn't filter the water at all.. can you recommend a filter to me for filtering my water.?

The placebo effect is real, that's why it's great to see videos like yours. Interesting about the comments in regards to it perhaps removing some of your protection, what do you think of Meguairs Soft Wash Gel? Have you used it? As it claims not to remove any, quite a bold claim however the reviews seem to back this up? Be interesting to see from your point in a review video, as no one wants their hard work of applying protective coating to be removed if at all possible.
I've tried so many soaps and always come back to Duragloss 901(902 gallons). It's slick, adds a little gloss, never spots on me, and STICKS to areas that are dirty.. it doesn't make shaving cream like some of the soaps out there, that's the only thing.. but that doesn't bother me.. the areas it sticks to stays foamy, even if it's not straight lather, it's still good. Every other soap I've tried lacks in some important areas to me, and the ability to stick to the car is a big one for me. I don't want to have to double up the soap concentration to make it shaving cream thick to stick, it changes the PH and just isn't that much more helpful. I do use Chemical Guys meticulous matte on both matte and ceramic coated cars, but Duragloss for everything else. I wish DG would make a gloss free version of 901.
Yes - I do not know how anyone can state “pH neutral” without knowing the dilution? Turtle Wax says 3 oz per gallon of theirs - but that you can use 6 or 9 oz if car is dirtier. That doesn’t tell me anything about which is stripping coatings.
Understand and agree with most of what you said but adding additional soap does not add additional pH if the pH of soap is 7.5 slightly alkaline by .5 or 6.5 slightly acidic by .5 pH doesn’t change by adding more soap it still has the same pH and has no additional impact on the cleaning process
Can you recommend a good hose-less pressure washer to me? My garden hose does not work so I need a good one that can carry a decent amount of water to pressure wash my car at home and one that can apply foam without any issues.
the Griots is a good soap but i stoped using it because its too sticky and i noticed it attracts dust and strips the protection a bit. this is why i created our V2 Snow Foam which i feel is the perfect balance

Great video. Almost the same as the old Honeydew Snow Foam. But I stopped using Honeydew because its quite sticky when drying. I switched to Adams Car Shampoo, its so slick and glossy after drying. Btw, I noticed you removed the Weighted Ball from your Brilliant Finish Foam Cannon, because it Rust easily. I removed mine too. Still work great.
I’m not saying you’re wrong, but leaving soap on for seven minutes is a long time doesn’t that really leave a residue behind which is not helpful to the cars finish ? Everybody I’ve seen usually only weights three or four minutes.
You don't see lots of dirt because your car is clean already. let that car get dirty for like 2 weeks and it will show dirt run off also soon as you showed tire dirt run off then it does do its job. to me it is the same as Adam's mega with a Helluva better price then Adam's Mega foam it is over priced and deceiving. also at the end of the day both do the same thing would you pay 60$ Adam's or 30$ for sticky Foam chem guy's ill go chem guy's all day .
The unfortunate truth about ANY soap is that they ALL leave residue behind. Some more or less than others. That residue changes the characteristics of the paint and/or paint protection it’s trying to clean. I wish there was a soap that cleans well without leaving anything at all behind. Is that even possible?
the issue with them is they are so big and offer too many products so you can not expect all of their products to be good or even great thats the reason why smaller brands do better jobs since they focus on niche and specialty products pretty much which is what I do with our car care brand. But some stuff CG makes does perform and works quite well
Some stuff is solid based on preferences. Their VRP is nice for tires and trim. I’d hope for a little more cleaning on their soap. Their pads and polishes were a huge letdown for me.
@@autofanaticcars got it👍 I was going to say I’d be very happy with that much foam. I did however just get the Adams foam gun so we’ll see how that works compared to the cheap Amazon one I had
Idk since I used Ammo foam cleanser I don't feel anything will compare with the lubrication and it has good cleaning properties. Obviously the more self cleaning you have , the more aggressive , killing your protection quicker. The car being slick is nice but i feel like your car soap shouldn't be responsible for that , a drying aid and or ceramic topper should be used if thats what you desire .
I use an on demand pressure washer that only kicks on when the gun is pressed and i keep it inside the garage and shut the doors when i do videos with my 100ft hose its perfect. If you check this channel youll see my complete pressure washer rig from North Star.
hard to capture in video on the overcast dark day but you really can see it and the car was dirty and it did a fairly ok job after waiting over 5 minutes.
Well I used it in a foam Cannon and did a wash bucket both, that usually gets the job done with any car soap, didn't even let it dwell cause I was working against sunlight. But I noticed that it doesn't leave the car glossy, just a regular foamy car soap
Educate me AF. If your cars finish is very “slick”, won’t that make any foam slide right off? If the foam has a high lubricity, doesn’t that mean the foam will slide off easier as well? You can go crazy finding the right mix. This is where my head wants to explode 🤯
no soap can defy the physics of gravity fully however some surfactants in soaps really react differently and adhere to the vertical panels better now finding the right mix is very difficult when formulating soaps.
yeah they are such a huge company they can come out with new stuff weekly if they wanted to. this soap performed quite well but the value might not be there when you factor in tax and shipping costs.
Chemical guys have horrible customer service. Never returns emails blocked 3 social media accounts. All i did was ask a few recomendations and one or two product issue questions
thats really sad but this is the way almost every big company is today nobody cares to help customers out thats why you gotta support smaller business like is just for the service alone.

no i think this works better but who knows if they are actually the same formula with different smells and colors ha ha
What type of pressure washer do you use?
North Star 230V electric there are two videos on this channel showcasing this entire set up
How much psi does it has
what kind of pressure washer are you using? its silent
NorthStar 230V electric i did two videos on this channel if you search you will see my complete professional pressure washer rig
Had a $15 foam cannon garden hose adapter but every time I used it even with good soap it never even snowed up like this one did thats crazy ...
Its for pressure washers
Can you test something other than chemical guys
i must have tested 60 soaps in all of 2021 and most of them sucked so not worth doing a video on everything I buy and try.
Do you have a pressure washer or? I’m confused
you can not use a foam cannon without a pressure washer
@@autofanaticcars ya I know I just didn’t hear one and it looks like a garden hose
I use an on demand pressure washer that only kicks on when the gun is pressed and i keep it inside the garage and shut the doors when i do videos with my 100ft hose its perfect. If you check this channel youll see my complete pressure washer rig from North Star.
What kind of protection your car has?

@@autofanaticcars im not a big fan of ceramic coatings good wax and detailer sprayer is enough for me
what nozzles are you using?
40 degree MTM Aqualine
@@autofanaticcars what ratio?
I thought it was a new mr pink at first
It works good bro
Not sure how much dirt your gonna see come off an already clean car weather it’s your foam or any other !!!!
hard to capture in video on the overcast dark day but you really can see it and the car was dirty and it did a fairly ok job after waiting over 5 minutes.
"Derp... I just dont see a lot of *dirt"
*washes a clean car.
How many different damn soaps do you need? To many choices chemical guys.
I agree it is like going to the dinner looking at the 15 page menu when your starving
Next time, Try it on a Dirty Car.. Pure waste of time
No coating on that car?
nope just using our 007 Ceramic Detailer after a wash and to do touch ups.
I've used it, really sudsy for me
but how well did it clean and did you like the lubrication i felt it could have been much better
Well I used it in a foam Cannon and did a wash bucket both, that usually gets the job done with any car soap, didn't even let it dwell cause I was working against sunlight. But I noticed that it doesn't leave the car glossy, just a regular foamy car soap
@@autofanaticcars .
I tried it to me is the same thing different smell
Educate me AF. If your cars finish is very “slick”, won’t that make any foam slide right off? If the foam has a high lubricity, doesn’t that mean the foam will slide off easier as well?
You can go crazy finding the right mix. This is where my head wants to explode 🤯
no soap can defy the physics of gravity fully however some surfactants in soaps really react differently and adhere to the vertical panels better now finding the right mix is very difficult when formulating soaps.
Is there car wash business that offer chemical free water n soaps washes?
that I am not aware of
Sticky snow ball😋😋😋
Tried it left a film on the car
as the temps dropped in NY it did the same thing, i tossed the rest out
They made another soap? No shocker there
yeah they are such a huge company they can come out with new stuff weekly if they wanted to. this soap performed quite well but the value might not be there when you factor in tax and shipping costs.
Lol the car was clean already
Chemical guys have horrible customer service. Never returns emails blocked 3 social media accounts. All i did was ask a few recomendations and one or two product issue questions
thats really sad but this is the way almost every big company is today nobody cares to help customers out thats why you gotta support smaller business like is just for the service alone.
I stopped ordering from Chemical Guys. Their Product shipping is horrible thru them. I've had 3 orders that leaked and they won't fix the issue.
It's Not soap it's surfactants or synthetic detergent . 😊 ✨🫧🫧🚗🫧🫧✨🧽🇺🇸☮️ I use to be a lab tech in the auto detergent industry . Drive threw car washes
