- Volvo XC60 is a 5 seater Luxury available in a price range of Rs. 65.90 Lakh. It is available in 1 variant, a 1998 cc, BS6 and a single Automatic transmission dynamic midsize SUV - and with refreshed design details and Google built-in, it’s smarter than ever.
The 9.0-inch touchscreen is another talking point but physical shortcut buttons to frequently used features are missed. Like all Volvos, front-seat comfort is excellent. However, rear-seat passengers will find the doors a bit small for convenient ingress-egress and the backrest is also a touch too upright for comfort. XC60 now wears the B5 badge, which in Volvo-speak means ‘mild hybrid’. Gone is the clattery diesel from the older car, and in place is a 250hp, 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine. And since it is a mild hybrid, it also gets a 48V battery that works in conjunction with the engine, helping it out with better fuel efficiency and acceleration 8-speed automatic gearbox isn’t the most eager unit out there. Shifts are smooth, but you need to be patient with them. Sadly, air suspension has been withdrawn for India but the steel springs do the job well enough and deliver a composed ride. Off-road ability is best described as moderate - not that typical vehicle owners will be bothered.
